My Best Friend’s Brother Was Never Supposed to Taste Me

Chapter 291

Arabella Rivera The guy walks over to Gwen, his frame towering over the both of us. His stony eyes slid to mine and I quickly look away, very uncomfortable. " Here." I heard him mutter, I assume handing the bag to Gwen's awaiting hand. I was growing more and more uncomfortable with their flirting back and forth. I cleared my throat, seeing this as an opportunity to buy the plan B without her noticing since she looked to be really busy chatting it up. "I'll be back, just need to buy something at the counter." I grumble under my breath as Gwen's hands shot out to squeeze the guy's tattooed hand. I rolled my eyes at the action. She needs to be more careful. You're one to talk, didn't you have sex twice, unprotected? And of course my conscience came right on time to let me know how stupid I was last night. "Okay." She sighs without sparing me a glance. I roll my eyes, turning around and walked over to the counter. Before I disappeared around the corner, I took a peek behind my shoulder to look at them. I ripped my eyes away rapidly when they connected with the man's stony ones. Was it a bad idea to leave her here with that guy? I chewed my lips as I contemplated if to go back there. But if I did go back, I wasn't so sure I'd get an escape plan to buy the plan B without her seeing it. I groan lowly, deciding I'll just be quick with it and get back to her in no time. Besides, there were cameras in every corner here. There was no way that guy would try anything. So with that little reassurance, I made a bee-line for the counter. My plan was to ask whoever was behind the counter for help in getting the plan B. But as my eyes left the middle age woman behind the counter to look behind her, my eyes fell on the plan B box. It was a somewhat small box that could fit in your hand but wasn't small enough to hide in your fist. And even with light colors, it could be spotted quickly. Or maybe it was the bold Plan B printed on it that drew my eyes. With a shaky smile, I peered at the woman behind the counter. The laugh lines on her face grow prominent as she smiles at me. "Hey there girly. What can I get fah yah?"I move closer to the counter, looking around in case Gwen popped up suddenly. Seeing only an older man scanning through boxes, I sighed seeing I was in the clear. I turn to the woman who seemed friendly. "Can I have a plan B please?" I asked softly, afraid that someone else would hear even though there was practically no one else but the woman and the older man. "Sorry girly, what was that?" She brings her head forward. "Plan B. I want a plan B please." I said a little louder this time. The woman whose name tag spelled out Donna wrenched back shock before she schools her features, now appearing to be calm. "Sure. That would be fifty bucks." She turns around to snatch the box from the rack. My eyes widen. Shit. I didn't have that much. How can that small box cost so much? Donna whirls around and places the purple and white box on the counter. My face flamed with embarrassment as I stuttered out. "So-rry I don-t have that much. Is there any way I can pa-y the rest later?" I said, slipping her the twenty bucks Gertrude gave me a good amount of minutes ago. Donna's eyes fall to the twenty and she takes it. "Oh that's fine hunny, I got yah. I'll pay the rest. You're being responsible and that's hard to see nowadays." She sends me a wink and puts the cash in the register. "Is this your first time?" She asked while rolling both her lips in her mouth, humming while punching in some numbers. " Yeah it was my first time. I lost my virginity to a guy everyone warned me about. And I was so stupid to not protect myself. I mean how dumb- I stopped when Donna sends me a baffled look. I cringed. "Sorry, what did you mean by first time?" Donna smiles softly. "I meant, if this was your first time buying a plan B?" I cleared my throat, beyond humiliated. "Yeah." I answered while grabbing the small box on the counter. "Do you know how to take it?" She questions, her eyes dropping to the box. I send her another shaky smile while clutching the box tightly. "I guess. One pill to swallow and everything goes away right?" She sends me a pity smile and nods. "Just one pill girly. Hey, yah being responsible, give yah self some props."I send Donna a grateful smile. "Thank you so much, Donna." My eyes fall on her name tag so she'd get the hint as to how I knew her name. "For everything." I really meant it. There weren't so many kind people left in this world, sadly. Donna's smile widens. "Girl's gotta help each other out in a time of need right?" "Right." I nodded with a smile. I guess it was time to take that pill. I should take it now. The sooner the better. I swallowed the lump in my throat, anxious to get this over with. I turn around but closed my eyes when I realized I didn't know where the bathroom is. I turn back to Donna and pinned her with a light grin. "Uh, can you give me directions to the bathroom please?" I questioned. Donna nodded. "Sure. Just at the back and take a left, there's a white door with the lady's sign taped on it. Careful there's a gloryhole before the stalls. " She warned. "Tried having that fixed but the boss says it was cool." She shook her and turned around to fix some stuff on the racks while grumbling. "Men." I nodded even though she couldn't see me. "Thank you." What the hell was a gloryhole? I turned around, my brows furrowing as I tried to understand her words. I ran smack into a hard chest, quickly losing my balance, and staggered a bit. The purple and white box fall from my grip and lands on the floor. "Ow." I breathed out as I rubbed my nose while clenching my eyes shut. "Here you dropped this." That voice. The same guy who had been flirting with Gwen. Did that mean Gwen followed him? Shit the box. My eyes snapped open as I looked at the box then scan the area for my preppy blonde friend. I let out a sigh of relief as I didn't spot her hard to miss figure. "Normally it's the guy who buys it. Guess he didn't care?" The stony guy spoke bluntly. My eyes snap back to his and I quickly take the box from his grip harshly. Pinning him with a furious glare, I gritted out. "Mind your damn business." I brushed past him and made sure to brush my shoulder against his arm, because sadly I was too short to reach his shoulder. While I walked away, I could feel his eyes on me. They sent a shiver down my spine. One that wasn't at all pleasant.
