The Despised Luna's Comeback
Rosaline's POV: The warmth of Caden's breath tickled my ear as he spoke softly, though a hint of warning in his voice made my pulse quicken. I tilted my head, my fingers lightly grazing his lips. Just before I could speak, he kissed me. It wasn't a gentle kiss—it was intense, almost as if he wanted to pull me into him entirely. I closed my eyes, giving a soft push against his chest as I exhaled, my mind drifting away. "We're in the car," I murmured, my voice tinged with uncertainty. Despite the partition separating us from the driver, I still felt a bit self-conscious. "This is your doing," Caden whispered, his voice warm against my skin as his cheek brushed against my neck. "Rosaline, I love you ... " I wrapped my arms tightly around him, a smile creeping onto my face. "I love you too." But just as the moment began to settle between us, my phone rang. With a quiet sigh, I pulled away and glanced at the screen. It was Naomi's manager, Sandra, calling. I answered the call, and soon learned that there was a mole in the company. Naomi had spotted a werewolf making a secret deal outside the building. My expression grew serious as I listened. "Where are you now?" "We're back at the company," Sandra replied. "Stay there. I'll be there soon," I instructed, giving her a few more orders before ending the call. Caden looked at me, confusion flickering in his eyes. I quickly filled him in on Naomi's discovery. "I'll look into it for you," Caden said, his voice now firm. "Thanks, I appreciate it," I said, nodding. My mind raced as I processed what had been revealed. What I had initially thought was a simple paparazzi problem now seemed to be something much deeper—there was definitely collusion happening behind the scenes. I signaled the driver to turn around, heading back to Starplay Entertainment. By the time I arrived, Naomi and Sandra were already waiting in my office. I walked in and went straight to Naomi. "Are you okay?""No, I ran as fast as I could. They probably didn't want to be seen, so they didn't follow me," Naomi replied, shaking her head, her face still pale from the scare. I drummed my fingers lightly on the desk, my voice low and measured. "I didn't expect anything like this." Clearly, I had been so focused on everything happening behind the scenes that I hadn't noticed this serious issue unfolding in the company. Now, I was determined to find out who was behind this plot. Wendy's POV: Not far from Starplay Entertainment, I sat at a café, staring at the photos in my hands, a frown pulling at my lips. "Is this all you have?" I asked, placing the photos down and sipping my coffee. "It was hard enough to get into Starplay and snap these," the young werewolf sitting across from me answered, his voice filled with uncertainty. He was the one I'd hired to infiltrate Starplay and gather information. "Didn't you say you had connections inside the company?" I raised an eyebrow, a smirk curling at the corner of my lips. "If this is the best you can do, you can forget about your payment." "Hey!" he snapped, slamming his palm onto the table in frustration. His voice rose before quickly lowering, as he nervously glanced around the café. "You can't do that!" "I'm just looking for something worthwhile. I've paid you, so don't think I'm going to accept anything less than what I expect. Got it?" I said coldly, slipping on my sunglasses. "You have three days. If I'm still not happy with the outcome, you won't see a dime." I stood up, grabbed my bag, and walked out without saying another word. Rosaline's POV: When I finally made it home from the office, I found Caden in the kitchen, preparing dinner. I took a deep breath, sneaked up behind him, and wrapped my arms around his waist. "Caden," I whispered, resting my cheek against his back. He turned his head slightly, his voice warm as he asked, "What's wrong?" I shook my head and smiled up at him. "It's just so good to have you by my side."He nudged my nose playfully before leaning down to kiss my forehead. "How did everything go at the company?" "We still haven't figured out who the mole is." I sighed, a frown tugging at my lips. "I'm a bit worried about Naomi." "Oh? What's got you worried?" Caden asked, his interest piqued. "I'm concerned that those two might have seen Naomi's car and could have recognized her. That means, unless we catch the mole soon, Naomi could be at risk." "Then have Naomi take some time off," Caden suggested. I shook my head. "I told her to take a break, but she insists on staying. The company's given her so many advertisement deals to work on." Caden gently cupped my face, offering a reassuring nod. "We'll increase her security. A couple of paparazzi aren't a big deal." But my brow furrowed as I looked at him. "I just feel like there's more going on than we're seeing." Caden reached up and pressed his finger gently against my brow, smoothing out the frown with a tender touch. "I've already had people look into it." I shook my head. "They're being too careful. If they weren't, I would've gotten some results by now." Caden didn't answer, his expression distant, as though lost in thought. "Don't forget we're going to the old Eclipse Pack mansion tomorrow." I suddenly remembered, lifting my head from his chest to meet his gaze. Caden hummed softly in acknowledgment. I smiled brightly. "My gift is ready. I hope Richard likes it."
