The Despised Luna's Comeback
I slowly moved my hand over, relying on instinct, until I felt the roughness of the rope binding my wrist against the pillar. I slowly rubbed the ropes, hoping to break the rope naturally. I was cautious, stopping my hand whenever I noticed the two werewolf bodyguards paying attention to me. Perhaps thinking I was behaving well, the two werewolf bodyguards finally couldn't resist the fatigue and sat down, shutting their eyes. I breathed a sigh of relief and focused on rubbing the rope. After some time, I suddenly felt my hands loosen up—the ropes had finally snapped! Without hesitation, I pulled my hand away and jumped up, causing the two werewolf bodyguards to immediately wake up. But I was faster than them. I swiftly struck the backs of their necks with a chop from each hand, making them collapse to the ground in an instant. I stood still for a few seconds, realizing that my legs could still move. Quietly, I opened the door and rushed out. Michelle's POV: As the sky brightened up, I happily returned to the cabin only to see a bunch of ropes that were on Caden's wrist lying on the ground, with the two werewolf bodyguards lying there, unconscious. He was nowhere to be seen. I immediately let out a scream. "Useless! All of you, get up!" The other werewolf bodyguards heard me and rushed over. I ran out of the cabin in frustration, and with the help of the faint light of dawn, I could see Cabin's blurry figure in the forest as he frantically ran away. I widened my eyes in anger and pointed in the direction where Caden was escaping. I commanded, "Go, bring him back to me!" A few werewolf bodyguards instantly transformed into wolves and roared as they rushed out. I rushed into my car, started the engine, stepped on the gas pedal hard, and drove into the woods. Caden, youwon'tescapeme! Caden's POV: I ran with all my might, but my stamina was diminished as I could still feel the aftereffects of the drugs. In no time, I was blocked by two black wolves who were chasing after me. Michelle also arrived in her car. She parked the car in my path, blocking me. I could only stop and catch my breath. I took a step back and leaned against a tree. With a frown, I maintained a defensive posture. I desperately called out to Edward in my mind, hoping he would appear to help me make a final stand. However, Edward let out a deep snore in my soul. Damnit! Theremustbesomewolfsbanemixed in thedrug. Even Edward isaffectedtoo. Michelle rushed out of the car angrily and surrounded me with several black wolves. She smirked at me with her arms crossed. "Caden, listen to me, come to Fostrau with me. I don't want to make this hard for you but don't test my patience. Otherwise, I can't guarantee that I won't hurt you when I bring you with me—" "Michelle," I interrupted her. Knowing that there was no use being confrontational at this point, I tried to buy myself some time by trying to talk to her. I trusted Rosaline. She would come looking for me when she realized that I hadn't returned for so long. "Don't be so stubborn. We really aren't suitable for each other. Why don't you just let me go now? I won't tell Duke Gerald about this, and let's pretend that we never met. Isn't that the best for both of us?" I said in a low voice. "Not at all." Michelle shook her head and snickered coldly. "You don't think Rosaline can find this place, do you? Forget it, you better—" "Caden!" Just as the situation was about to escalate, a shout came from nearby. I looked up in joy and saw Rosaline emerging from the trees on the side, standing in front of everyone. Michelle turned around in shock, asking, "Rosaline, how did you find this place?" Rosaline's POV: I let out a breath and sneered. "If I hadn't come, who knows what could have happened? Michelle, let Caden go now and there's still a chance for us to talk this out." I admitted I was not a saint, but I really couldn't believe Michelle would do something like this! It seemed that I was mistaken about my friend. "Let him go? Why if I don't? Rosaline, I won't hide anything from you anymore. I also liked Caden the moment I first saw him. If you're willing to break up with him and let him be with me, we can still be friends in the future. Maybe I'll even invite you to our wedding." Michelle smiled, looking nonchalant. "Is that so?" I narrowed my eyes and crossed my arms. I knew she thought I was alone and powerless, confident that I couldn't do anything to her. But as soon as I finished speaking, on the other side of the trees, Yale hurried over using the flashlight on his phone to navigate, followed by a dozen strong werewolf bodyguards in tow. When Yale saw what was going on with Caden and I, he roared out orders for the werewolf bodyguards to transform into wolves, surrounding Michelle and a few others. "Let go of our CEO now, or I can't guarantee you'll walk out of here alive today!" Yale coldly warned. The dozen or so black wolves let out a chilling roar. Michelle took a step back, and with a mix of confusion and anger in her eyes, her gaze finally locked onto me and she sneered. "Rosaline, it seems like you're ready to take me head-on, huh?"
