The Despised Luna's Comeback
Samuel watched the scene unfold, then casually tapped his fingers against the table. "I don't know much about celebrity affairs, but I do know a thing or two about health. Filming nonstop all morning—your body will need a proper boost." I glanced around, eyes shifting as I continued resisting the temptation. "Then just take a sip," Samuel spoke under his breath. "I'll cover for you. Your manager won't see a thing. Deal?" "All right, just one." I gave in and reached out to take the juice from him. Our eyes met for a split second before I took a long, satisfying gulp of the juice. The sweet, fruity taste instantly filled me with a warm, comforting feeling. Ah, such a sweet burden to bear. Before long, my manager returned with lunch. Since I was still on a strict diet, I only took a few bites before it was back to filming once again. Just before filming resumed, I jokingly asked Samuel if he wanted to make a cameo. Naturally, he turned me down with a smile. This was a big scene, with lots of extras filling the background. I took a deep breath, got into character, and everything went smoothly. But just as we were wrapping up the final shot, something unexpected happened. The elderly werewolf lady who had been quietly standing by the roadside suddenly collapsed with a pained expression on her face. Her sudden ailment shocked everyone at the scene. Her breathing was rapid, her entire body trembling uncontrollably. "What's going on?" I rushed over instinctively, panic creeping in, but I had no idea what to do. Just then, Samuel pushed through the crowd and came over. While everyone else was caught in a flurry of panic, he remained calm. He knelt beside the collapsed woman and checked on her. After a moment, his voice came low and steady: "Acute heart attack." "What should we do?" I asked, my voice tight with worry. For some reason, looking at the elderly werewolf lady lying there, my mind flashed to my own grandmother. "Call an ambulance. Now," Samuel instructed, his tone grave. As he spoke, he began performing CPR on the elderly werewolf lady. I fumbled for my phone and quickly dialed emergency services. Around us, the set had fallen into tense silence—the once-lively atmosphere had grown heavy with dread. Soon, an ambulance pulled up to the edge of the set. The paramedics—who were also werewolves—rushed over and gently lifted the elderly woman onto a stretcher. "Is she going to be okay?" I asked nervously. The werewolf medics gave a reassuring smile. "Good thing you acted fast. She's stable now, with no serious harm. But we're still taking her to the hospital for a full check-up, just to be safe." I let out a sigh of relief, then turned to Samuel, a hint of admiration softening my gaze. "Thank goodness you're here, otherwise she would've been in great danger." He gave me a modest smile. "Helping others and saving lives are the duties of every doctor, and I'm no exception." Michael's POV: "Wendy!" I pushed the doors open with force as I strode into the Wild Pack's villa, my anger bubbling over. As soon as I stepped into the living room, I let out a sharp, frustrated hiss. Ever since that incident, Caden had dug into everything. He'd gone straight to that same reporter who had been in cahoots with Wendy, and got every detail of what happened. Worse, he had it all recorded on a voice recorder. Afterwards, he even made a special trip to the Wild Group to find me. Right in front of me, he pulled out the recorder, clicked it on, and played the entire conversation. As I listened to the playback, I stood frozen, completely stunned. A wave of embarrassment washed over me. "I sincerely hope that Mr. Crawford can properly discipline his sister from now on, and make sure she doesn't resort to such underhanded tactics again. It'd be best if she stays out of my business with Rosaline from now on. If I catch wind of anything like this again, it won't just be a warning next time." These were the last words Caden said before he left. I stared at the recorder left carelessly on the table, a knot of anxiety tightening in my chest. Unable to hold it in any longer, I stormed in and immediately confronted Wendy. As soon as Wendy heard my voice, she emerged from the bathroom nonchalantly, her brow furrowing slightly in confusion. "Michael? What's wrong?" The sight of her instantly stirred a wave of anger in me. I'd already promised Wendy I'd pursue Rosaline, even though I didn't want to. But I never imagined that to prevent Rosaline from being with Caden, Wendy would go so far as to drug someone and conspire with others. It was beyond disappointing. "Why would you do that?!" I glared at my sister, my face contorted in fury. All the wrath I had been holding back finally erupted. "I promised you I'd pursue Rosaline, so why did you still go behind my back and conspire with others to slander her? And you drugged her drink?! If no one had told me, I honestly wouldn't have believed you would do something like this!" My voice shook with rage as I reprimanded her, but deep down, there was a deep sense of disappointment and sadness. I had never imagined that my once beloved sister would sink to such depths—so petty and obsessive. I felt like I had failed my mother's wishes. Wendy, however, remained eerily calm, a fleeting glint of mockery passing through her eyes. "So what? Why are you so angry? It's not like they recorded anything anyway, right?" Her voice floated in the air, light and unaffected. I stared at her in disbelief, my mind momentarily stunned by her coldness, before it was replaced by an even greater surge of rage. "You still think there's nothing to worry about? And you have the nerve to lament over not getting anything?" I snapped, my voice rising. "Caden came to the Wild Group today! Do you understand the mess we'd be in if any of that negative stuff about Rosaline got out? Do you know what that man would do?! If that happened, the company Dad left us, the entire Wild Pack, everything would be destroyed, and you'd be the one to bring it all down! "As for Joel, whom you brought in—he's the heir of Fostrau's Royal Wolf Clan, a pack that commands over 30 influential and powerful werewolf clans. Do you have any idea what will happen if we anger these Alphas? You have no idea what you're getting us into!"
