The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 582 You Don't Understand the Life of a Celebrity

When Rosaline walked into Starplay Entertainment, she spotted me holding a white rose bouquet. She smiled slightly. "Naomi, who sent you the roses?" "I have no idea." I paused for a moment when I saw Rosaline, then quickly set the flowers down. I still held a deep respect for her, not just because she was someone Jasper liked, but because her skills were truly impressive. My manager joked, "Maybe it's someone you like trying to win you over." I smiled wryly, shaking off any further thoughts. Turning away, I pulled out my script from my bag and sat down to start memorizing my lines. "By the way, the shampoo endorsement is confirmed," my manager said, dropping the playful tone. Seeing the brand details, I was momentarily stunned. "Meteor Shampoo? They've always hired big-name stars before. Why would they choose me?" "The company looks for a strong fanbase when picking their endorsers," my manager explained. "Someone with your level of popularity is perfect for them. Besides, you're already a big star now. Just go straight to the shooting location tomorrow." "Naomi, this ad is perfect for you. Go for it," Rosaline said, patting me on the shoulder before heading into her office. "Filming tomorrow?" I mumbled, running a hand through my hair. "Do you think we can talk to the sponsor about photoshopping the ad? Changing my hair color should be easy, right?" "Why not just have them photoshop you into the ad completely? That way you won't even have to go shooting." "I'm about to lose my gorgeous hair color. Can't you feel a little sorry for me?" I said, giving my manager a pitiful look. My manager rolled her eyes. "I didn't expect this either. Meteor Shampoo picked you as the spokesperson, and not just for a regional deal—you're the national ambassador." "That generous?" I was taken aback. Meteor Shampoo had been around for a long time, known for its high-quality products and solid reputation—powerhouse in the industry. Their previous endorsers were all big-name stars with plenty of awards, so for them to suddenly choose me felt like an honor. But while I was surprised, my usual cocky attitude hadn't changed in the slightest. "That's called having an eye for talent. I'm going to be a big star for sure!" "Sure, future star. You never miss a chance to show off," my manager laughed. I quietly hummed, looking at the thick script in my hands. Then, I grabbed a pen and doodled a smiley face in the corner. I chuckled and mumbled, "It looks awful." Because the advertisement shoot included outdoor locations, I went to the set early in the morning to get my hair and makeup done. Watching the busy crew, I was impressed by how generous big companies were, even for one ad. After going over the details with the director, I started taking promotional photos, followed by a short ad scene. I had expected such a big production to come with strict demands, but it was actually quite the opposite. The shoot was easy-going, and the director encouraged me to relax. By the end of the morning, I didn't feel tired at all. "Cut!" The director tapped his clapperboard, signaling the end of the morning shoot. I let out a sigh of relief and walked over to the monitor to check how I had done. "Your expressions are great, the shots look perfect. We'll start filming the main scenes this afternoon, so go ahead and take a break." The director's smile was warm and friendly. I thanked the staff and made my way to the rest area. "Good job." Suddenly, a glass of juice appeared in front of me while I was checking my phone. I thought it was one of the crew, but as I looked up to thank them, I was met with a familiar face. "What are you doing here?" I asked, surprised to see Samuel in front of me. "I heard the new spokesperson was shooting an ad today, so I came to check it out," Samuel said, sitting down beside me. I was still holding the juice, a little confused by his words. Noticing my dazed expression, Samuel winked and, with a playful tone, said, "I'll tell you a secret—the chairman of Meteor Shampoo's last name is Foster." "Foster?" I muttered, then looked at Samuel's smile and the realization hit me."You ... Is this your ... " "My dad is the chairman of the group, and he's also the Alpha of Meteor Pack," Samuel said calmly, adjusting his glasses. Though it sounded a bit like bragging, hearing it from Samuel didn't make it come off as irritating at all. In my mind, Samuel always came across as gentle and refined, like a young nobleman. But now it was clear—he was indeed part of a wealthy family. "Since your family is Meteor Pack, why did you become a doctor?" I blinked, confused. Was this one of those situations from novels where the powerful CEO had hidden talents? "My dad always wanted me to take over the family business, even pushing me to study finance in college. But I never liked the business world," Samuel said calmly. "So, I secretly changed my major to medicine and became a doctor. That almost got me kicked out of the pack." As he spoke, Samuel gave me a pitiful look, which made me laugh. But in my mind, I couldn't help but see Samuel in a new light. Though going against family wishes wasn't a good thing, the fact that he was willing to fight for something he loved was admirable. "I was watching while you were shooting just now. You're completely different on camera than you are in real life," Samuel praised. "You've been watching the whole time? I didn't do anything weird, did I?" I quickly asked. "I just got here," Samuel replied with a smile, pushing the juice toward me. "The food will take a little longer, so have some juice to fill your stomach first." I looked at the bright juice in the cup, blinked, and then firmly declined. "I can't. I'm on a diet, and juice is too high in sugar." "Diet? You're not fat at all," Samuel said, puzzled. "You don't understand the life of a celebrity," I mumbled quietly.
