The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 577 Ryan's Childhood Friend

Yura's POV: I watched as the three of them chatted happily, feeling like an outsider who couldn't fit into their conversation. Ryan noticed my discomfort and reached for my hand, introducing me, "Kristy, this is my fiancée. She's currently pregnant with my child." When Ryan mentioned me, his face was full of smiles. Kristy looked at me and smiled, saying, "Hello, it's nice to meet you. I didn't know you and Ryan were getting married, so I didn't bring a gift. I'll make sure to bring one when I visit Mrs. Lindsay next time." I noticed Kristy's gaze was fixed on Ryan, and a small spark of doubt rose in me. My instinct told me that she probably had feelings for Ryan. "It's fine, they haven't had their wedding yet," Zera said slowly, pulling Kristy's hand. "I still remember how you used to play with Ryan at my house when you were little. You even said you'd marry him when you grew up." I felt a weight in my chest as I heard that. Zera actually brought this up in front of me! "Mrs. Lindsay, that was just when we were kids," Kristy replied, her face slightly flushed. "Ryan and I have both grown up now." Kristy showed me an innocent, almost sweet look. I couldn't help but sneer inwardly. What a cleverly disguised, scheming flower. "Kristy is still as shy as she was when we were kids," Ryan said calmly, seemingly lost in childhood memories. Seeing Ryan initiate the conversation, Kristy quickly continued, "Yeah, do you still remember when we were little we held a wedding together in the garden? At that time I held a mosquito net as a wedding dress, I linked your arm and walked on the grass, and there were people humming the wedding march ... " A sweet smile bloomed on her face, looking innocent. Ryan smiled faintly and nodded. "It's hard to believe it's been so many years. Since you went abroad to study, we haven't kept in touch." As I watched Ryan and Kristy chat so comfortably, a sense of sadness washed over me. Ryan and I had only recently met, and we didn't share the same childhood memories that he and Kristy did. Zera looked at me, deliberately smiling as she teased them both, "You two are still the same as when you were kids, so close that you forget everything when you start talking, not caring about anyone else." Kristy blushed a little from Zera's teasing. "Stop joking with me, or Ryan will start mocking me again." As she spoke, she occasionally stole glances at my reaction. I couldn't help but take a deep breath. "Ryan, I'm not feeling well. I'm going to rest in my room for a bit." Then, I stood up and made my way upstairs. "Yura, are you okay?" Ryan quickly followed me. "Mrs. Lindsay, did I say something wrong? Did I make Ryan upset?" Kristy's voice reached me from behind. "How could that be? Yura has no manners at all. She's nothing like you, Kristy. What a shame." The cold and rude words only deepened my disappointment. Heidi's POV: After Wendy helped me escape prison and sent me abroad, I rented a small apartment. With the money she gave me, I could live comfortably for years without worrying about food or clothes. Caden and Rosaline, both high-profile public figures, were drawing attention from both domestic and international circles. Their upcoming engagement had even spread across social media and was widely reported. I was just casually browsing through social platforms when I stumbled upon the news about their engagement. How could Rosaline, that worthless Omega, still be with Caden? It should have been me with Caden! I clenched my lips, my fingers scrolling through the mouse without pause. As I read the comments and wishes from netizens, jealousy bubbled up inside me, growing stronger by the second. Almost without thinking, I grabbed the phone and searched for Everett's number in my contacts. I couldn't hold back anymore. Seeing Rosaline and Caden together made me want to rip that Omega to shreds.I escaped from prison, and there was no way Wendy could help me get back to Rivemon. The only person who could help me now was Everett. My finger paused three seconds, then I steeled myself, gritted my teeth, and called Everett. The phone rang four or five times before it was answered, and a cold, polite voice came through. "Hello, who's this?" I took a couple of deep breaths, gathering my courage before I finally spoke. "Hello, Everett. It's me."
