The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 522 Their Scheme

The moment I finished speaking, Susan's gaze instinctively shifted to the design drafts on the desk, her eyes flickering for a moment. I studied her closely, fully confident that my plan to steal the drafts would intrigue her. After all, nothing would appeal more to a defeated person than the chance to bring down the one responsible for their loss—especially for someone as prideful as Susan. "Well? Does the idea tempt you?" I asked, breaking the silence that had stretched too long, deliberately stoking the fire. Susan curled her fingers, then lifted her head. "Your proposal is intriguing. So, what do you need from me?" I smirked inwardly. As expected, she wasn't easy to manipulate. Stepping closer, I leaned in just enough to shorten the space between us, placing one hand on the desk as I locked eyes with her. "It's simple. I want Rosaline gone." "Gone?" Susan gasped sharply. I nodded. "Yes, I want her life. If you help me, I'll make sure you have everything you need." Susan's initial surprise quickly shifted into a pleased smile, a clear sign that my offer had piqued her interest. "A pleasure working with you, Ms. Reese," she said, extending her hand. "A pleasure working with you as well, talented designer," I replied, reaching out to shake hers. Though we both smiled, I was aware that Susan might have her own agenda. Even so, I wasn't concerned—after all, we shared a common enemy. "Alright, then. I'll be expecting good news from you," she remarked, raising an eyebrow as she signaled for me to leave. With my objective met, there was no reason to linger. I nodded and turned to go, but Susan stopped me before I reached the door. She walked back to her desk, unlocked the lowest drawer, and pulled out a wallet. Taking out a card, she handed it to me. "Ms. Reese, what you're asking is quite extreme, but since you helped me, it's only fair that I offer something in return. Consider this a token of appreciation. Just remember to follow through with the plan. Once I see the design drafts, I'll do my best to fulfill your request." I grinned. Those were exactly the words I had been waiting for."With your assurance, I can rest assured. I'll make sure Rosaline's designs reach you completely intact." Wendy's POV: Rivemon. Ever since returning from Hoorn, I had been resting at home. Michael was so worried I'd come across news about Caden that he ordered the maids to remove all magazines and take away my phone. With nothing else to do, I lay on the couch, mindlessly flipping through TV channels. "The CEO of Eclipse Group, Mr. Caden Holbrook ... " I absentmindedly grabbed the remote and switched channels. By chance, a gossip segment was airing. The moment I heard the host's voice, I straightened up. "According to credible sources, Mr. Caden Holbrook and Ms. Rosaline Sinclair are set to hold their engagement ceremony on the fifth of next month. The location for the event is still under discussion." As soon as I heard Rosaline's name, my expression darkened. A wave of jealousy and bitterness crashed over me. Why? After everything I had endured for Caden, how could he still end up with Rosaline? What did that country Omega have that I didn't? I clenched the couch fabric tightly. It was obvious that I had a better background. The idea that Caden had rejected me only to devote himself to Rosaline was unbearable. No, I wouldn't stand by and let them be together. I wouldn't allow Rosaline to take what I couldn't have! Heidi's POV: After Rosaline exposed me at the engagement ceremony, the werewolf authorities arrested me. I was convicted of fraud and espionage and sentenced to 18 years behind bars. Prison was a nightmare. Almost every female prisoner knew about my past. And here, being infamous only made things worse. The other prisoners looked at me with disdain, and the dominant ones always tormented me. They would turn on the faucet just to drench me when I tried to wash my face or purposely knock over my tray during meals. Some even forced me to serve a werewolf who had been locked up for five years, making me wash her feet."Don't give me that attitude," she scoffed, lounging on her bed as I scrubbed. "You're nothing but a fraud who toys with people's emotions. Do you think you're some kind of high-class lady? From what I heard, your pathetic father was a kidnapper too, wasn't he?"
