The Despised Luna's Comeback
Candice's POV: Inside a hotel in Phoshire. I stood outside Room 505, where Susan's studio was located. It had taken quite some effort to track down this well-known designer. I knocked. "Come in," a woman's voice called out impatiently. Pushing the door open, I stepped inside. After walking through the hallway, I spotted Susan sitting on the couch in the living room, eyeing me in confusion. I approached with a polite smile, extended my hand, and said, "Hello, Ms. Susan. I'm Anna." She didn't move. Her sharp gaze remained fixed on me, filled with suspicion. "Who are you?" she asked with a frown. "That doesn't matter. What does matter is that I know who you've been working with lately—and I also know who Loe is." The moment I mentioned Loe's name, Susan's expression shifted. Her eyes widened in surprise. "You know her too?" "I know her very well," I said with a sneer as I took a seat beside Susan's desk. "You used to dominate international design competitions, always coming in first. But because of Loe, you ended up like this. It's alright. I know exactly who she is, and I can help you." Susan's excitement faded into wariness. She looked up at me, her expression guarded. "You claim to know her, and you think you can help me. But I don't even know who you are. What do you want?" "I get that you don't know me. That's fine." My gaze settled on Susan's face. Her reaction was just as I had predicted. She wasn't entirely clueless. "Allow me to introduce myself properly. I'm Candice Reese, the heiress of the Phantom Pack. If you've followed art news even a little, you've probably seen my name. As for the Loe you're envious of, she's even easier to recognize—Rosaline Sinclair, the powerhouse of Rivemon. I'm sure you've heard of her." When Susan heard Rosaline's name, her expression shifted dramatically. "Wait, are you saying Rosaline, the CEO of Starplay Entertainment and fiancée of the Eclipse Group's CEO, is Loe?"I gave a small, knowing smile and nodded. "That's right. Ms. Sinclair and I go way back. She grabbed my boyfriend, humiliated me, and turned me into a joke." Memories resurfaced, and I instinctively brushed my cheek, bitterness welling up inside. "If not for her, my face wouldn't have ended like this." Susan frowned slightly, her eyes scanning my face. "Your face? What happened to it?" "You don't know." I let out a soft, bitter laugh. That worked in my favor. Since she wasn't aware of Rosaline's past, I might as well enlighten her. "Didn't I just mention that Rosaline grabbed my boyfriend? Well, here's how it all happened ... " I leaned in, lowering my voice as I shared the details of our conflict. Of course, I wasn't entirely honest—some parts were slightly exaggerated. "That's the whole story." I ended with a faint sadness in my tone. "Because of her, I fell off a cliff and had to get plastic surgery in Hoorn." Susan stared at me, clearly struggling to process what she had just heard. Her fingers tightened around the armrest as she murmured in shock, "How could this happen? I thought she was just a spoiled, low-ranked Omega with no real skills. I never imagined ... " Her response was exactly what I had anticipated. Keeping my eyes on her, I continued, "That's why when I saw her latest success, I couldn't help but think of you. You used to be the best, but she's taken the spotlight. Anyone would be upset." Susan lifted her chin slightly, skepticism still in her eyes. "This is the first time we've met. Why should I believe you, Ms. Reese? You claim you want to help me—how exactly?" I had expected her to be doubtful. While I wasn't a fashion expert, I had seen the footage of Rosaline defeating Susan. Truthfully, Rosaline's work had an extra spark that Susan's designs lacked. Smiling, I leaned forward. "Would you be interested in Rosaline's design drafts? If you know what she'll design, you can tweak your designs to make them even more stunning. I can get them for you."
