The Despised Luna's Comeback
"Well ... " The director glanced at Jasper, clearly uneasy. "Mr. Sullivan, this scene requires a lot of emotional depth. A real kiss is essential to establish the connection with the audience. I'm planning a close-up shot, and faking the kiss won't have the same impact." Despite the director's concerns, Jasper remained resolute in his decision to use a body double for the kiss scene. The people in the room looked confused. After all, Jasper was a renowned Oscar-winning actor, and kissing scenes were hardly new to him. He'd done many in the past—so why was he refusing now? I could feel the eyes of everyone shifting toward me. It seemed they all believed Jasper didn't want to kiss me because he didn't like me. My heart sank, and I had to bite my lip to keep the tears from falling. Eventually, the director gave in, agreeing to let Jasper use the body double. But even with that decision, I couldn't get the scene right. I was too lost in my sadness to feel the joy of being confessed to by the person I loved. "Naomi, what's going on with you?" After another failed take, the director lost his patience and snapped, his voice tinged with frustration. "I'm sorry, Mr. Cooper!" I quickly apologized, lowering my head. Tears began to fall as I bit my lip, unable to stop them. Rosaline's POV: I'd heard that the crew was shooting a night scene, so I decided to visit and see how things were going. I didn't expect to walk in and find Naomi in tears after being scolded by the director. I quickly pulled the producer aside to ask what happened. When I learned that Jasper had pushed himself out of the hospital, everything made sense. I signaled for the director to pause the shoot and took Jasper aside to talk. "Why aren't you resting and taking care of your injury? Do you want to get yourself killed?" I asked, frowning as I confronted him. Jasper, clearly guilty, couldn't meet my eyes. Instead, he stared at a tree behind me. "I don't want to hold up the crew," he muttered. Seeing his stubbornness, I sighed in resignation and patted his shoulder. He could be difficult. There was nothing more I could do but coax him gently. After promising him another "date," Jasper finally managed a small smile. The director called for the shoot to resume, but when Naomi saw Jasper's soft behavior toward me, her mood immediately soured, and she couldn't get into the scene. "Cut!" The director, clearly frustrated, grabbed the microphone. I could tell from his body language that he was about to lose his temper, so I quickly intervened before he could speak. "Mr. Cooper, Naomi's probably just inexperienced with love at her age. I'll show her how it's done. Once I demonstrate, she'll be able to do the scene," I said confidently. Reluctantly, the director agreed. "Alright, Naomi, watch closely and pay attention to how I express the emotion. You'll take over later," the director instructed, gesturing toward the confused Naomi. "Okay," Naomi replied, though there was no joy in her voice. I understood how she felt. Looking at Jasper, who seemed completely uninterested in her, I couldn't help but sigh inwardly. I knew Jasper had feelings for me, and he knew I didn't share the sentiment, but he still held onto hope. The same went for Naomi; she was just as caught up in her feelings for him. What a mess! "Jasper, if you don't like her, just tell her already," I muttered quietly, loud enough for only him to hear. Jasper's expression faltered, his eyes briefly meeting Naomi's before quickly darting away. "I know what I'm doing," he replied. At his words, I didn't press further. "Let's begin," I said, slipping into character instantly. My expression and emotions shifted without effort, as if, in that moment, the only person I could see was Jasper, the only one I loved. I sat still, my eyes locked with his, filled with all the emotion I could convey. Jasper, now fully in character, followed my gaze. His eyes slowly lowered to my lips, which had curved into a smile of pure joy. The tension between us built to a peak as his large hand gently cupped my cheek, and he leaned in, pressing his lips against mine. I hadn't expected him to kiss me so suddenly. I tried to pull back in shock, but it was too late. Even as I pulled away, his lips lingered for a moment longer. "I'm sorry ... " Jasper immediately apologized, flustered. "It's okay. It's just acting. I understand." I smiled, quickly covering up the awkwardness. "Naomi, come over and finish the scene." The director, ever sharp, sensed the tension and quickly called Naomi over to complete the shot. I moved aside to let her take my place. The scene was finally finished, albeit with difficulty, and once the director called "cut," I quietly slipped out of the set. On the drive home, I found myself lost in thought. As I stopped at a red light, the image of the kiss scene replayed in my mind. I sucked in a breath as I pondered the consequences. If Caden found out about this, I was afraid he'd transform into a white wolf and tear Jasper to pieces. I left as quickly as I could to avoid the awkwardness. But fate always has a way of playing cruel tricks. As soon as I opened the door to my house, the living room was cloaked in darkness. I frowned slightly, wondering why Caden wasn't home yet. After changing my shoes, I started up the stairs, but suddenly, a deep, cold voice, full of anger, froze me in my tracks. "Rosaline, I think you owe me a serious explanation about where you've been and what you've been doing behind my back."
