The Despised Luna's Comeback
I couldn't stop laughing, almost collapsing onto the floor. "Haha. Caden, I knew it! You wouldn't let me go out alone at this hour! "Ah! What are you doing? That hurts!" Caden grabbed my arm firmly, lifting me off the ground. Without warning, he leaned down and kissed me deeply. "Ugh, nooo ... " I regretted teasing him earlier. If I had known this would happen, I wouldn't have provoked him in the first place. After the kiss, which left my face red and my heart racing, Caden drove me to the company. "This weekend, you're coming with me to the old mansion of the Eclipse Pack. We need to talk about our engagement with Grandpa," Caden said, his grip tight on the steering wheel as he spoke. Without thinking, I blurted, "No." Caden slammed on the brakes and shot me a sharp look. "Are you refusing me?" "Yeah, is that a problem?" I teased. His expression darkened almost instantly, and I quickly added, "Alright, alright, I'm just kidding. I need to go to Phoshire for the fashion design competition. Even if I hurry, I'll be gone at least a week. So, the engagement discussion will have to wait." His face softened at that, and he kissed me again. "What are you doing? Why are you kissing me again?" I pushed him away. I was getting annoyed, but Caden only smiled, pinching my cheek happily. "No matter what, the engagement must come first." "Fine ... " I muttered, exasperated. "I'll handle it when I get back from Phoshire." Jasper's POV: "I know my body better than anyone, so stop trying to talk me out of it." I stood by the window of my ward, watching the entertainment reporters waiting below, ready to snap pictures. "But if Rosaline finds out ... " My assistant looked at me, concerned. At the mention of Rosaline, a pang of pain struck my chest. I quietly replied, "Just do what you're supposed to." "Understood, Mr. Sullivan." My assistant nodded in agreement. I put on a mask and sunglasses. With my assistant beside me, we bypassed the reporters outside and headed to the underground parking lot. The driver hesitated when he saw me but eventually drove me to the set. My assistant nervously held his phone, glancing at my injuries. "Mr. Sullivan, I know I can't stop you, but you've already had a relapse of your injury, and you ended up in the hospital. Now you want to go back out. You need to be careful while filming." I didn't respond, staring out the window at the quickly passing scenery. ... The people on set were shocked when I showed up so soon after being discharged. The director and producer rushed up, looking frantic. "Mr. Sullivan, you've only been in the hospital for a few days! Your wound isn't fully healed—why are you rushing back to film? What if something happens again? Since you've been hospitalized, the crew's been swarmed by your fans! If something happens again, we won't be able to continue filming!" "Exactly!" the producer added. "We had to move your scenes to the end. You should go home and rest, and come back when you're fully recovered." I watched the director and producer argue, my thoughts calm and collected despite the chaos inside. So much had happened, and my mind was a tangled mess. I needed to keep working to escape it, even if only for a little while. "I'm fine. If I'm here, it means I'm okay," I said with a serious expression. Seeing my determination, the director and producer exchanged a look before reluctantly backing down. "Alright, we'll call the makeup artist for you," the director said, signaling for staff to prepare. Naomi's POV: I was sitting in the makeup room, applying makeup and reading the script, when I saw Jasper walk in.I was both surprised and happy. "Mr. Sullivan, you're back!" "Hey." Jasper took off his sunglasses and sat down, giving a slight nod in my direction. Noticing his usual distant attitude, I felt deflated. I turned back to the mirror, feeling lost. The staff quickly called the makeup artist to prepare Jasper's look while making arrangements for the shoot. "We're reshooting scene 346. Remember to check your lines in the script." The staff hurried away to handle other tasks. I immediately lowered my head and flipped through the script. I knew scene 346 involved ... "Ah!" The makeup artist laughed. "A kissing scene! Looks like it's time to test your acting skills." She smiled mischievously, her expression a little suggestive. My ears turned red, and I quickly lowered my head, pretending to focus on the script. I was nervous inside, but at the same time, I was eager to see how Jasper would react to this news. Unfortunately, by the time my makeup was finished, Jasper was still acting his usual cold self. The shoot began shortly after. The scene I was filming with Jasper was a romantic moment between the male and female lead on a warm summer night. To make it more magical, the crew brought in dozens of fireflies, which now surrounded us, their tiny lights twinkling like stars. A soft breeze brushed through the grassy field, and the willow tree branches swayed gently. The scene was utterly romantic. I sat next to Jasper, wearing a white dress. After hearing his heartfelt confession, I closed my eyes in embarrassment. I expected to feel the warmth of his lips on mine, but nothing happened. I gripped the fabric of my skirt nervously, my body trembling slightly in anticipation. Time seemed to stretch on, and then I finally heard Jasper's cold voice. "Mr. Cooper, I want to use camera angles to fake the kiss." My body stiffened instantly, and all the emotions I had built up came crashing down. Fake the kiss? Was he ... rejecting me?
