The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 429 Can't Wait Any Longer

Rosaline's POV: When I got home, my phone buzzed with a call from Jasper. "Rosaline, are you home?" "I just got back. What's up?" I asked, bending down to change my shoes. "It's about 'The Call of the Wild' launching ceremony. I'll come and discuss it with you in person," he replied before ending the call. Twenty minutes later, the doorbell rang. When I pulled the door open, I saw Jasper's tall figure standing at my doorstep. "Come in," I said with a small smile. Jasper gave a slight nod before walking inside. "Three days from now, the company will hold the movie's launching ceremony. You and I both need to be there to demonstrate how significant this film is to us. Will you be available?" "That fast?" I rubbed my forehead. This had completely slipped my mind because I was so busy these days. Jasper responded with a serious expression. "It's not that fast. If it's too late, we won't make it in time for the International Film Festival." I pondered for a while before saying, "Alright, I understand. 'The Call of the Wild' is the screenplay I wrote. Of course, I'll be there." After speaking about business, Jasper glanced at me with a hopeful expression. "You haven't had dinner yet, have you? Do you want to grab a bite together?" I shook my head and refused, "No, thanks." It had been a long, exhausting day. All I wanted was some quiet time at home to unwind. For a brief moment, his eyes dimmed as if he had something else to say. But before he could, a sudden knock echoed through the room, followed by Caden's charismatic voice. "Rosaline!" I froze for half a second. Caden? Why is he suddenly come here? Pulling open the door, I asked, "Why are you here?" His eyes flickered past me, landing on Jasper in the living room. His expression immediately turned sour. "Jasper, what are you doing here this late?"This rich guy was jealous again! I knew Caden's personality too well. It wasn't even that late, but he just had to say something like that. If this wasn't jealousy, then what else could it be? I patiently stated, "We were just talking about work." "Is that so?" Caden's lips curved slightly, though his expression remained unreadable. "Then, have you both finished talking?" "Yeah, we're done." I shrugged. "Since you've finished talking, Jasper, why are you still here?" Caden unceremoniously issued an eviction order with a severe tone. Seeing how his jealousy was escalating, I could only sigh in resignation. Turning to Jasper, I said, "You should head back. I'll be at the launching ceremony on time." Jasper rose to his feet, his usually composed face clouded with a hint of disappointment. "Alright. I'll see you then." As soon as the door clicked shut, I spun around and shot Caden a glare. "Jasper came here to talk about work! What are you so jealous of? You even chased him out!" Caden reached out and drew me into his embrace; his deep voice dropping lower as he leaned in, "Am I not supposed to be jealous when I see another man chatting so happily with my wife?" I furrowed my eyebrows. "What are you even saying?" But before I could protest further, he suddenly tilted my chin up and kissed me. "Mm, you ... " The rest of my words were swallowed by his kiss, forceful and domineering. His lips pried mine open with ease, his tongue slipping past my teeth. Perched on his lap, my head instinctively tilted back, my fingers tightening around his shoulders. His suit was now wrinkled beneath my grip. "Rosaline ... " When he kissed me, his hands were no longer content to stay still. It trailed along my waist as his fingertips toyed with the hem of my gown. "I miss you so much ... " The moment those words left his lips, Caden swept me into his arms and strode straight into the bedroom where he lay me down on the bed. Caden lowered his head. His gaze was unwavering, dark, and intense as he studied me seriously. His fingers traced the curve of my face, gliding down to my neck, then lower, brushing over my collarbone in a slow, deliberate caress. Then, he kissed my scarlet lips again, but this time it was compassionate rather than demanding. "Alpha, let's mate tonight." Freya's voice echoed through my soul, laced with yearning. I felt Freya's sexual arousal deep within me, and my heart clenched abruptly. Was this the night when Caden and I taking the next step? His hands pushed the hem of my nightgown higher. His warm palm cupped my breasts, and the next second, his tongue flicked over my nipple, circling nonstop, drawing out sensations so intense that my whole body trembled. Heat surged through my vagina, and in an instant, I felt a slick warm fluid gather between my thighs. Oh, Moon Goddess, this was the first time a man's kiss had ever made me this aroused. As his hand drifted downward to my lower body, a sudden jolt of awareness shot through me. My hand instinctively reached out to stop him. I tried hard to open my eyes. My blurry, half-lidded eyes stared at him. My breath was shaky as I struggled to find my voice, "Caden, I know you want me. I want you too ... but, not yet. Don't do this yet, okay." "Alpha, what are you doing?! I want to mate with him. Why are you stopping? Why are you rejecting him?" Freya howled within me, furious and desperate. I forced myself to suppress Freya's primal instincts. Tugging my nightgown back down, I gently pushed Caden away and sat up. My refusal made Caden frozen in place as if he wasn't sure how to respond. I was entirely sober now, so I took a long breath and spoke quietly, "Didn't you promise you'd respect me?" The fire in his eyes didn't wane. His voice was hoarse and raw with frustration as he said, "But I can't wait even a second longer." I stepped off the bed, strolled toward the window, and gazed at the moon hanging high in the night sky before replying calmly, "We can't do it now, Caden. You made me a promise. You must keep your word."
