The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 428 A Deal With the Devil

Annie's POV: At the Werewolf police station, I sat on pins and needles. If I were genuinely convicted of theft, with an amount as high as 20 million, my life would be ruined. It must have been Rosaline who set me up! That shameless Omega wench! Just then, a werewolf officer walked in with a man in a black suit and glasses. "Annie, you're free to go." "Really?" I looked up in surprise. "This gentleman has vouched for you and paid the fine on your behalf. You are now free to leave." The officer knocked on the door, repeated himself mechanically, then walked away, leaving only the bespectacled werewolf standing at the entrance. He adjusted his glasses. "Ms. Annie, I'm here to help. Someone asked me to pay your fine and bail you out because they want to meet you." "Meet me?" I pointed at myself in confusion. Then, noticing the werewolf's gaze, I grew wary. "Who wants to see me?" "You'll find out soon enough." The werewolf led me to a hotel room labeled 3103 and nodded at me before leaving. I was full of doubt. Who had saved me? Taking a deep breath, I knocked on the door. "Come in!" A young female werewolf's voice called out. It sounded familiar. I pushed the door open, and I froze upon seeing the woman inside. Sitting elegantly on the couch was Wendy, the heiress of the Wild Pack. "Annie." Wendy lifted her gaze. "Come in." So, she was the one who had saved me. But why was she suddenly being so kind?Choosing my words carefully, I asked, "Ms. Crawford, did you bail me out?" "Yes." Wendy nodded decisively. "I know you were framed, right? Was it Rosaline?" Her words struck a chord in my heart, making my nose tingle with grievance. I nodded emotion. Wendy's POV: Seeing that I had hit the nail on the head, I smirked inwardly. This foolish woman would be easy to manipulate. I walked over and patted Annie's hand in a comforting manner. "I know you've suffered a lot. Don't worry, I'll help you." "You'll help me?" Annie looked at me with hope but also a hint of suspicion. "What's the catch?" "Help me get rid of Rosaline. We both have our own goals. If you assist me in eliminating her, I can help you become an international superstar." Annie despised Rosaline with a passion. How could she not be tempted by my offer? "Alright!" Annie agreed firmly. Seeing how quickly she accepted, I knew I had her in the bag. Rosaline, you wait! However, Annie alone wasn't enough. I needed more leverage. The following day, I arrived at Starplay Entertainment. Jasper was organizing some documents in his office. When he saw me, he paused slightly. "Jasper, may I have a word?" I stepped inside. Jasper's expression remained indifferent. "Ms. Crawford of the Wild Pack, what brings you to me?" "Let's not beat around the bush." I sat down on the couch and looked at him. "I know you have feelings for Rosaline. Why don't we work together? If you help me get Caden, then Rosaline will be yours." Jasper chuckled coldly at my words. Leaning against his desk, he met my gaze and said flatly, "Ms. Crawford, with all due respect, you're being naive. If Caden and Rosaline could be separated with just a few words from us, you wouldn't need to come to me." Of course, I knew that. Otherwise, why would I be here? I clenched my hands slightly, steadied my nerves, and maintained my smile. "So?" Jasper shook his head, his eyes cold. "So, I'm not interested in working with you. I like Rosaline but would never use such despicable means to win her over. You've got the wrong person." His rejection was clear, and it disappointed me. Didn't he love Rosaline? He once proposed to her on a live broadcast in front of the entire werewolf continent. Later, the host revealed that he was serious about it. Yet Rosaline had met his sincerity with ruthless rejection. "If there's nothing else, Ms. Crawford, please leave." Jasper unceremoniously dismissed me. I shot up from the couch, glaring at him. "Jasper, I hope you won't regret your decision someday." With that, I stormed out.
