The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 423 Deep Affection

Just as this thought crossed my mind, my phone rang. It was Caden. My heart skipped a beat. Was this telepathy? I answered the call. "Rosaline, are you home?" Caden's concerned voice came through the line. "I just got home, took a shower, and now I'm lying in bed, reading news reports about your disaster relief efforts." Warmth spread in my heart as I smiled. "You looked pretty handsome on camera. By the way, how's the situation over there?" "What's the point of being handsome." His voice suddenly turned low, carrying a hint of grievance. "If you aren't by my side, who am I even looking good for?" This man! When did he become so shameless? Hearing his sweet words, my ears heated up. I couldn't help but chide him, "Stop it. I'm talking about something serious here." "The situation at the disaster zone has stabilized. The focus now is on resettling the survivors. You don't need to worry." After reporting the situation, Caden paused for a few seconds before his deep, magnetic voice came through the receiver again. "But, Rosaline, I'm serious too. I miss you. I really want to see you right now." He had said many sweet things before, but hearing these words still rippled my heart. His voice grew fainter as sleepiness crept in. I couldn't even remember when I hung up. The moment my head hit the pillow, I drifted into sleep. In my dream, I suddenly saw Caden. We were in the bedroom. He walked over, wrapped his arms around my waist, and whispered in my ear in a deep, husky voice, "Rosaline, I miss you. I want to kiss you." His warm breath tickled my ear, sending heat rushing to my face. Then, his lips pressed against mine. "Mm ... " A soft moan escaped my lips as my hands instinctively clutched his collar, pulling him closer. We melted into each other in an entangled embrace. Suddenly, the alarm clock rang. I snapped my eyes open, instantly wide awake. Sitting in bed, I rubbed my forehead, realizing everything was a dream. An odd sense of loss filled my heart. The vivid scenes from my dream flashed through my mind again. My face heated up. Why did I have a dream like that? "Had a wet dream, Alpha?" Freya teased in my head. "Shut up, you pervert." Ugh, it was all Caden's fault for whispering those sweet nothings last night! When did this man become so good at flirting? The next morning, I headed to Starplay Entertainment. I had been away for a while, leaving the casting of 'The Call of the Wild' in Jasper's hands. Now that I was back, I first had to check how things were going. I went straight to Jasper's office and knocked on the door. "Come in," his deep voice responded. I pushed the door open and entered. When Jasper saw me, his eyes lit up, and he quickly stood up in surprise. "Rosaline, you're back?" "Mm." I smiled lightly. "You've been gone for so long. I thought you wouldn't be back for a few more days. How's the disaster area? You didn't get hurt, did you?" Barely seated, I was immediately met with his rapid string of concern. I took a sip of water and placed my bag aside. "Everything's fine. Caden is still there, but things are improving. I came back yesterday. Today, I'm here to check if you have things under control. Have all the actors for 'The Call of the Wild' been finalized? Do you have the profiles for me to review?" Hearing that I was only here to discuss work, the light in Jasper's eyes dimmed slightly."Wait a moment." He walked over to his desk, grabbed a stack of documents, and handed them to me. His deep gaze fixed on mine. "These are the actors and the director I've chosen. Take a look and see if anyone seems unsuitable." I took the files and flipped through them carefully. The director Jasper selected was experienced in filming art-house movies, with a keen eye for visual storytelling and strong actor guidance. There wasn't much to worry about in that regard. However, when I got to the female lead ... I tapped on the actress's photo and looked up at Jasper. "I've seen Jacqueline Prescott's work before. Most of her roles have been in modern dramas. Her gaze is expressive, but her overall aura doesn't quite fit the female lead's character." "Then who do you think would be a better fit?" Jasper asked seriously. After a moment of thought, I replied, "I'd suggest replacing her with Naomi Lawrence. She has a pure, versatile quality." I had personally discovered Naomi, so I knew best what kind of roles suited her. Plus, her popularity had skyrocketed ever since she starred in the Eclipse Pack commercial. Jasper pondered for a moment before nodding. "Alright. The casting isn't completely finalized yet, so we can still make changes. I'll call her agent right away." As Jasper stepped out to make the call, I idly tapped my fingers on the coffee table when my phone rang. It was Yura. "Yura, what's wrong?" Her voice on the other end sounded teary and anxious. "Rosaline, Timothy is missing! I've searched everywhere but can't find him. What should I do?" "What?! Timothy is missing?"
