The Despised Luna's Comeback
I rushed to the bar, only to see Yura and Ryan pulling and tugging at each other. I had no idea what was going on. Frowning in confusion, I walked over. "Why are you guys here together?" "Rosie, thank god you're here!" Ryan called out the moment he spotted me. "Yu is drunk. I happened to run into her, so I brought her outside. Come check on her." I quickly stepped forward and supported Yura's figure. "Are you okay? Why did you drink so much?" The moment she saw me, Yura burst into even louder sobs. "Rosaline, I feel awful. Tell me, why did Timothy break up with me?" "Yura, don't do this. Let's get you home first." I wrapped my arm around her and helped her toward the exit. "I'll drive you," Ryan offered, quickly catching up to us. "Hey, Ryan! You were the one who dragged us out here, and now you're ditching us?" One of his werewolf friends called out, grabbing his arm. Ryan shot them a glare. "Can't you see I'm busy? You guys have fun without me. I'll be back later." Soon, Ryan pulled his car up in front of us and opened the door. "Get in, Rosie." With some effort, I got Yura into the passenger seat before sliding in myself. Yura wouldn't stop crying the whole way back. "Timothy said he fell in love with someone else and he broke up with me just like that. We've been together for five years—how could he do this?" "Alright, Yura, stop thinking about it. Let's talk tomorrow." I sighed, feeling helpless as I watched her drown her sorrow in alcohol. Ryan glanced at us through the rearview mirror. "Rosie, what happened to Yu?" he asked curiously. I sighed again and answered in a heavy tone, "I don't know the full details, but it sounds like her boyfriend of five years just dumped her." And then— Yura suddenly retched. "Yura, are you okay?" I asked in alarm. She shook her head weakly before throwing up all over Ryan's car. "I'm so sorry, Ryan. She made a mess ... " I apologized helplessly. Ryan waved it off. "It's fine. The car's no big deal. But Yu looks pretty bad—should we take her to the hospital?" "No need. She's just drunk." I glanced down at Yura. It was clear that she was drunk. Ryan drove us to the hotel. "Just let me know if you need anything." "We're fine now. You should head back." I smiled at him. "Thank you for your help tonight." "It's no trouble at all. Rosie, you saved my life. Your problems are my problems." Ryan's gaze lingered on Yura as he spoke. I noticed but said nothing. Was this kid interested in Yura? "Thanks again," I said as I helped Yura into the hotel. "Careful, Yura." I guided her onto the bed, tucking her in. "Get some rest. We'll talk about everything tomorrow." After a night of heartbreak, Yura was utterly exhausted. She soon fell into a deep sleep. I let out a quiet sigh and sat by her bedside. Glancing at my phone, I saw a bunch of missed calls. They were all from Caden. I must've accidentally put my phone on silent. Why had he called so many times? Did something urgent happen? Just as I was about to call him back, my phone rang again. "What's wrong? You called me so many times. Something urgent?" "Where are you? Why weren't you answering?" Caden's cold voice came through the line. "My phone was on silent by accident," I explained. "Where are you? With Jasper?" His tone carried a distinct note of jealousy. I rolled my eyes. "What nonsense are you talking about? Yura got drunk, so I took her back to a hotel.""Really?" Caden's voice was laced with doubt. "Of course! Yura and her boyfriend fought, so she went drinking. She was lucky Ryan found her, or she could've gotten into real trouble. I've been dealing with this all night—I haven't even had dinner—" I muttered, pouting. Caden hung up before I could finish talking. "What the—" I stared at my phone, speechless. Was he seriously still thinking I was with Jasper? He's so petty. I sighed and looked down at Yura, who was sleeping soundly. I had never met Timothy Walker in person. Everything I knew about him came from what Yura had mentioned over the years. Apparently, they met while studying abroad. He wasn't from a big werewolf clan or anything—just an ordinary Beta. Yura had been the one who pursued him. Whenever they were on the phone, she had this sweet, lovestruck expression—like a girl madly in love, tinged with just a bit of wistfulness. But now ... As I was lost in thought, a knock suddenly came at the door. Who could it be at this hour? I stood up and opened the door—only to see Caden's tall, commanding figure standing there. "Caden?" I was taken aback. "What are you doing here?" He stepped inside, closing the door behind him. His deep, magnetic voice rang out. "I missed you, so I came."
