The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 385 A Kiss Without Warning

Yura frowned in confusion, glancing back and forth between Jasper and me. "This ... " "This is my new script," I explained. "It's the one I'm most passionate about. The story is set on the ancient Werewolf Continent, where a lone Alpha encounters a Rogue princess abandoned by her pack. Together, they defy prejudice and ultimately rise as the rulers of the land. "This film doesn't require heavy special effects; it's more of an art film. The production cycle is short—as long as the acting is solid, it'll be fine." As I spoke, I turned my gaze toward Jasper. His gaze deepened. "You're already aiming for an award. If I don't give it my all, wouldn't that be a disgrace to your personally written and directed masterpiece?" "Then take some time to go through the script. This role is quite the challenge." I chuckled. Jasper, however, only looked at me with a puzzled expression. "I have to go," I said, glancing at the time. Heidi should be waking up soon. I drove straight to the hospital. Just as I stepped inside the entrance, someone suddenly grabbed my wrist and yanked me into an empty room. "What are you doing?" I looked up and found myself staring at Caden's chiseled face. He loomed over me as his gaze tinged with jealousy. "You had so much to talk about with Jasper that you stayed with him for that long?" "Mr. Holbrook, we're supposed to be separated now. If someone sees us this close, it wouldn't be a good look, would it?" I smirked at his obvious jealousy. This man was ridiculous. We agreed that this was just an act, yet here he was, actually getting jealous. I hadn't even gotten upset about him and Heidi yet! "What did you just call me?" His expression darkened. "It's working hours now, of course, I should call you Mr. Holbroo—mmph?!" Before I could finish, Caden pressed his lips against mine, cutting off my words. My eyes widened. What the hell? Why did he have to kiss me without warning every time? I shoved him away forcefully. "Enough! Your dear Tessa should be waking up soon. You should head back before you miss the show." Caden finally let me go reluctantly. "Stay away from Jasper next time," he warned.I rolled my eyes at him. Caden's POV: I turned and walked into Heidi's ward. "How is she?" I asked the doctor indifferently. "Mr. Holbrook, Ms. Tessford is still unconscious, but there's no serious harm," the doctor replied cautiously. "Fortunately, she landed on the air cushion and only suffered minor injuries." I nodded. "Good." At least Heidi was alive. Regardless of whether she was really Tessa, this wasn't the time for her to die. There were still untold secrets lurking around. After all, Rosaline and I had gone to great lengths to set this trap. We needed to find out who was pulling the strings behind Heidi. If she died now, all our efforts would be wasted. Heidi's POV: I stirred, groggily regaining consciousness. The first thing I saw was Caden's tall, imposing figure. My heart leaped with joy. I vaguely recalled what happened. I had been standing at the edge of the rooftop, pretending to jump to test Caden's reaction. However, Rosaline's sudden shout startled me, and with an unexpected gust of wind, I actually lost my balance and fell. I really thought I was going to die, but I didn't. And now, waking up, the first thing I saw was Caden's worried expression. That must mean he cares about me, right? I forced a weak smile onto my face. "Caden ... why are you here?" "Tessa, you're awake?" Caden stepped closer, looking down at me. I glanced around, then spoke in a meek voice. "Caden, am I not dead yet? Didn't I jump? Why am I in the hospital?""Tessa, I won't let you die." His voice was low and firm. I bit my lip. "But ... if I'm still alive, Ms. Sinclair will be angry. I don't want to see you two fighting because of me." "Don't mention her name." A flicker of impatience crossed Caden's handsome face. I secretly rejoiced. Looks like my plan worked. Caden was already growing tired of Rosaline. With just a little more effort, this outstanding man would be mine. Rosaline's POV: After leaving Caden, I headed straight to Richard's hospital room. "Ms. Sinclair." Leslie greeted me respectfully as he opened the door. I stepped inside and walked over to the hospital bed. "Mr. Richard, how are you feeling today?" "Much better." Richard smiled upon seeing me. His complexion looked good, and when I checked his pulse, it was strong and steady. A sense of relief washed over me. "Mr. Richard, in a few more days, you'll be well enough to leave the hospital." I smiled. Richard's lips curled up. "That's great news." Then, as if something had just occurred to him, he frowned slightly. "By the way, what's going on between you and Caden? The internet is filled with rumors slandering you, and that Heidi girl—what's her deal?" "Don't worry, Mr. Richard. It's just a minor issue." I dismissed it lightly. Richard nodded. "I'll visit again tomorrow." I stood up, ready to leave, when my phone suddenly rang. Glancing at the screen, I saw Yura's name. "Yura? What's wrong?" I answered the call. Her voice sounded dejected. "Rosaline ... I just got dumped.""What?" I was momentarily stunned. She had been perfectly fine when she visited me at Starplay Entertainment earlier. How did she end up heartbroken in just a few hours? "Timothy broke up with me. Rosaline, I feel awful ... " Yura's voice was tinged with tears. A pang of worry hit me. "Where are you right now?" "I'm at a bar." Her voice was faint. "I'm coming to get you. Stay put," I said firmly before hanging up. Without wasting a second, I rushed toward the bar.
