The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 347 Yura Has Been Kidnapped

Caden drove Yura to the hotel. "Rosaline, it's late today. We'll discuss the design competition tomorrow," Yura said with a smile. I agreed. "Alright." The next day, the sky was overcast. I rushed Caden off to work early in the morning. "Yura's coming today, so you better leave now!" "Why are you in a hurry to get rid of me?" Caden said, his thin lips pressed into a line, clearly annoyed. I pushed him out the door and said, "I need to chat with my best friend. Why would a big shot like you want to hang out with us?" Caden was speechless, his face rigid as he left for work. I waited for a long time, but Yura didn't show up. Could Yura be worn out from the journey yesterday and still not have woken up? I waited a little longer. When I checked the time, it was almost noon, and there was still no sign of her. A sense of unease settled in. I called Yura, but her phone was off. Yura was always well-disciplined. If we'd agreed she'd come over in the morning, she wouldn't be unreachable at this hour. Could something have happened to her? I hurriedly drove to Yura's hotel, knocking on the door for ages, but no one answered. Immediately, I knew something was amiss. I called the hotel manager to open the door. We found the room was empty. The security footage showed that, after Yura left last night, she never returned. The last place she went to was a supermarket near the hotel. She walked into a blind spot on the security cameras and then disappeared. My instincts told me that something had happened to her.I was about to contact Anthony and seek his help to find Yura when my phone rang. When I picked it up, I saw it was Yura calling. Phew! I sighed with relief; at least she was safe. I immediately picked up the phone and asked, "Yura, where have you been?" However, someone else answered the phone. The woman's voice, low and hoarse, ground her teeth as she snarled my name. "ROSALINE!" That voice sounded incredibly familiar. It was Candice. She had been absent for a considerable amount of time. My heart sank at the realization. If Candice got Yura's phone, it meant she had been kidnapped by Candice. Sure enough, Candice's ominous voice came through the phone, declaring, "Yura is with me!" "What do you want from me?" I questioned. "If you want to save your friend, come to the top of Everburn Hill on the outskirts of the city. If you don't show up before sunset, you'll never see her again! "Remember, come alone. If anyone else finds out, Yura will die!" Candice finished her speech in one breath and hung up the phone, not giving me any chance to ask more questions. This b*tch is as crazy as a bat! I felt a pang of regret. How could I have been so careless and let Candice kidnap Yura? I glanced at the time. After spending the afternoon searching for Yura, it was already past four o'clock. Everburn Hill was far away, which meant I had to leave immediately. I quickly analyzed the situation in my mind. Hugh and the others had been taken down by the police, so Candice likely had no help left. Otherwise, knowing Candice's nature, she would have attacked me head-on instead of resorting to kidnapping Yura.Furthermore, Candice had made it clear that I had to come alone, or Yura would die. I was deeply worried that this lunatic might actually hurt Yura. After weighing the risks, I decided not to tell anyone and drove straight to Everburn Hill. Since my strength had recovered, I wasn't afraid of facing more of Candice's tricks. I sped along the road and finally reached the foot of Everburn Hill before 6:00 PM. The sun was about to set, and with only half an hour left, I grew anxious as I had to reach the top before the sun went down. Looked up at the towering 2400 feet mountain, I entrusted Freya to help me. I urged Freya to run as fast as possible, afraid that if I didn't make it in time, Candice might hurt Yura. It was my fault for dragging Yura into this. Freya sprinted with all her might. We finally reached the cliff's edge at the peak in the last minute before the sun dipped below the horizon. We swapped places. I stood still to catch my breath before looking up. There, Yura was tied up tightly to a large tree at the cliff's edge. Standing beside her was Candice. When I saw Candice, I froze. If I hadn't known it was Candice who had kidnapped Yura, I might not have recognized the ragged, dirty, and menacing figure before me. She was dressed in camouflage attire and looked every bit the savage. "I thought you wouldn't come," Candice said coldly, her eyes full of hatred. Though Candice's face was dark and hidden beneath dirt, the malice in her eyes made my heart race. She clearly harbored deep hatred toward me. I ignored Candice and turned to Yura. "Are you alright?" "Rosaline, don't come any closer! Run! This woman's a psychopath!" Yura shouted.
