The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 332 Time to Shine

My heart plummeted. "What happened to Richard?" "Alpha's condition is critical. We're stabilizing him now. Come quickly," Dr. Williamson said, his voice strained. "Alright, I'll be right there." I hung up the phone and rushed to the hospital. On the way, I tried calling Caden, but he was unreachable. He was likely still in transit. My heart pounding vigorously. When I reached the hospital, Eleanor and Queenie were standing outside the operating room. The red light of the operating room was still on. Both their bright, cheerful attire was a stark and unsettling contrast to the ominous red light. Their casual conversation about nail salons seemed utterly detached from the gravity of the situation. I felt a surge of cold dread for Caden, thinking that such heartlessness existed within the Eclipse Pack. Queenie's eyes flashed with hostility. "Rosaline, you disgraceful Omega! How dare you show your face here? Get lost. Grandpa is still fighting for his life. He won't be happy to see you, especially after what you've done." Eleanor's voice was equally venomous. "You're not welcome. Leave, now!" My worry for Richard silenced any retort. "Move aside," I said, my voice firm and unwavering. They formed an impenetrable barrier. "What do you intend to do?" "Move!" I repeated, my gaze unwavering. Queenie's voice rose in a shrill accusation, painting me as a malicious interloper, "This is the operating theatre. I need to be here for my grandpa. As for you, this is none of your business. Have you not caused enough harm to him? Who knows what tricks you still have up your sleeves to drive Grandpa to his grave!" "Queenie is right. You're a shameless one. Get out of here!" Eleanor echoed her sentiments, creating a wall of hostility. Just as I was about to forcefully move them aside, the operating room door swung open, revealing Dr. Williamson's sweat-drenched face. "How is he?" I asked, my voice barely audible. "His condition is precarious, but stable for the moment. Please follow me to see him." "I understand," I calmly replied to Dr. Williamson, preparing to follow him in. Eleanor's voice cut through the air, sharp and accusatory. "She is going nowhere, Dr. Williamson. She is not a medical professional! If something untoward occurs, will you bear the responsibility?" "Our conventional methods have proven insufficient. Ms. Sinclair possesses unique skills. I have faith in her abilities," Dr. Williamson replied, his frustration evident. I also found Eleanor's and Queenie's attitude to be somewhat unsettling. As Hughie's apprentice, I'd successfully treated Richard before, a fact they knew. Yet, they were actively obstructing my efforts. Their actions defied logic. Anyone would seize a chance to save their family. Their relentless obstruction seemed increasingly deliberate. "If you continue to impede treatment and Mr. Richard suffers irreversible harm, Caden will demand answers. Are you concealing something?" I challenged, my eyes piercing. "If your methods fail, Caden will hold you accountable!" Queenie retorted, her voice laced with venom. "I will not fail," I said, stepping past them and into the operating room with Dr. Williamson. After changing into surgical scrubs, I approached the operating table. Richard lay unconscious on the operating table, his frail form causing my heart to clench. His previous progress had been remarkable, but why this sudden, alarming decline? He was treated with a unique incantation with my blood before. Was that not effective enough? A heavy sense of responsibility settled upon me. Speaking of which, I also bore some responsibility for Richard's illness. "Ms. Sinclair?" Dr. Williamson's voice brought me back to the present. I took a deep breath, regaining my composure. "Dr. Williamson, please clear the room. Just you and me."He hesitated, then nodded respectfully. "As you wish, Ms. Sinclair." He dismissed the staff, closed the door, and turned to me. "What do you need?" I examined Richard's eyes and mouth, searching for any telltale signs. "Please undress him."
