The Despised Luna's Comeback
Candice's POV: Jasper sat on the sofa, his gaze steady and unwavering. I hadn't expected him to be so distant and indifferent, and my heart sank in disappointment. Initially, I had thought that Jasper reaching out meant he still had feelings for me. But now ... I refused to accept this. Since Jasper had come here tonight, I had to seize this opportunity! With this in mind, I poured a cup of tea and placed it before Jasper. "Here, have some coffee." "Thank you." Jasper accepted it politely before taking out a script and handing it to me. "This is the script," he said in a neutral tone. "Take a look. The role has a fair number of lines but doesn't require too much acting skill. You'll be more than capable of handling it." I took the script and smiled seductively. "Of course. Since you're asking for my help, how could I refuse?" But instead of reading the script, I placed it on the coffee table. I didn't call Jasper here to talk about this role. I had another purpose. "Jasper, you should know that the reason I asked you to meet me in person isn't just for this role." I leaned toward him and reached out, gently holding his hand. Gazing up at him with teary eyes, I spoke softly, "Back then, I didn't elope with another werewolf and flee abroad. I had my reasons." A flicker of disgust crossed Jasper's face. He subtly withdrew his hand and leaned back, increasing the distance between us. Seeing this, my heart clenched in pain. I sighed softly and said, "You must hate me now. I know what I did back then isn't something you can forgive easily. "But I want you to know. I truly loved you. "Phantom Pack's Alpha, my elder brother, forcibly sent me overseas. I didn't even get a chance to explain it to you. All these years, my feelings for you have never wavered." The more I spoke, the more emotional I became. My eyes reddened as I pressed a hand to my heart. "Moon Goddess can be my witness. In this very place, only one person has ever lived in my heart—Jasper." The air grew heavy with tension. Jasper stared at me with an expressionless face. "Jasper, please believe me. Everything I said is true. What happened back then was just a misunderstanding! Can we start over?" My eyes brimmed with unshed tears, my expression full of sorrow and longing. However, Jasper remained unmoved. He coldly replied, "Candice, I've already made myself clear—I don't want to talk about the past anymore. Whatever your reasons were back then, I don't care. Because from beginning to end, my heart has only belonged to one person. And that person is Rosaline." With that, Jasper stood up, intending to leave. "Jasper, don't go!" Seeing him turn away, I panicked and hurried to stop him. In haste, I deliberately knocked over the cup on the coffee table. The scalding coffee spilled all over Jasper's pants. "I—I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to!" I immediately apologized and reached for some tissues to wipe his clothes. "Forget it." Jasper frowned, glancing down at the stain on his pants. Everything had gone exactly as planned. The spill had landed on a particularly inconvenient spot, making it awkward for him to go out like that. "I have some clothes at home," I offered cautiously. "I can get you a change of clothes. You can't go out like this." Jasper examined his soaked pants and nodded in reluctant agreement after a brief hesitation. As an actor, he had to maintain a polished image. He couldn't be seen in public with an embarrassing stain like this. "I'll go prepare the bath for you first," I said before heading toward the bathroom. Once inside, I shut the door and looked at myself in the mirror, flashing a triumphant smile. Everything had gone according to plan! I still didn't understand why Jasper's heart was so fixated on Rosaline! What did she have that I didn't?Clenching my fists tightly, jealousy flared up inside me like a raging fire. Tonight, no matter what, I would have the man I loved. No matter what it takes! Determined, I opened the cabinet before me and retrieved a scented candle. This particular candle had a unique effect. A devious smile curved my lips as I lit the candle, setting it carefully on the counter before stepping out of the bathroom. Casting a glance at Jasper, who still sat on the sofa with his usual impassive expression, I forced a gentle smile. "Jasper, the bath is ready. You go ahead and wash up. I'll fetch the clothes for you." Jasper removed his jacket and walked into the bathroom. As I watched him disappear inside, I knew I had won. Then I went to retrieve the clothes. After calculating the time, it should be enough. Holding the clothes in hand, I knocked lightly on the bathroom door. There was no response. That meant the scented candle was working. I pushed open the door and stepped inside. When I entered, I saw Jasper leaning against the wall, his upper body bare, his gaze hazy and unfocused. His physique was impeccable, and I couldn't help swallowing hard as my eyes roamed over him. Moon Goddess, the man I had loved for so many years, would finally be mine tonight! Tonight, I would give myself to him completely. I would make love to Jasper, and I would ensure that he marked me. That way, he would never be able to escape my grasp for the rest of his life!
