The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 308 Casting

Caden's POV: What does she mean? Is she trying to sever ties with me? "What did you just say?" I gritted my teeth, staring at her. "Repeat it." Just as Rosaline was about to speak, I leaned in and silenced her with a kiss. "Mmph!" Her voice was muffled as I dominated her lips, leaving her no chance to respond. My fierce and possessive kiss swept over her like a violent storm. It wasn't until she was breathless that I reluctantly let her go. "What the hell are you doing!" Rosaline shot me an annoyed glare and wiped her lips. I huffed, storming back to the driver's seat, stepping on the gas, and speeding away from the set with her trapped in the car. "Let me out!" Rosaline reached for the door handle, but I had already locked it. Ignoring her protests, I drove straight back to New Moon City. The moment I parked, she let out a huff, pushed the door open, and marched into the house, locking herself in her room without looking back. Rosaline's POV: Leaning against the door, I listened to Caden's footsteps outside. He hesitated for a few seconds but didn't knock. Then, I heard him walking away, followed by the front door closing. When I started warming up to him, he had to ruin it with his domineering ways. After a long and exhausting day, our argument left me feeling even more drained. I collapsed onto the bed. Just as I was about to drift off, my phone rang. I took it out and glanced at the screen—it was a call from Anthony. I immediately picked up. "Hello, Anthony?"Anthony's voice came through the receiver, earnest and steady. "Wilda, I found what you asked me to investigate." I sat up, my expression sharpening. "Go on." "The person who tampered with the flowers at the launch ceremony was Candice." I narrowed my eyes. Candice? It was her. I shouldn't be surprised. At the awards gala, I exposed her disgraceful behavior in front of everyone, destroying her reputation overnight. It seems she's been holding a grudge ever since and has been plotting her revenge. I clenched my fingers and let out a cold laugh. So, Candice has been orchestrating all these so-called 'accidents' to get back at me? This time, I won't let her get away with it. "Wilda, what do you plan to do next?" Anthony asked. "Just say the word if you need my help." A smirk curled on my lips. "I have my own way of dealing with her." After hanging up, I was about to call Jasper when his name suddenly appeared on my screen. "Jasper," I answered. His voice carried a hint of concern. "Rosaline, are you alright?" "I'm fine." I shook my head. "Actually, I need a favor." "Anything," Jasper responded eagerly. "Can you ask the director to add a role for the upcoming scenes? A pianist from Fostrau. And I want Candice to play the part." "Candice?" Jasper was momentarily stunned. "Why her?" "I have my reasons. Just trust me on this one." "Alright," Jasper agreed without hesitation. "Rosaline, whatever you need, I'll take care of it." Jasper's POV:It's rare for Rosaline to ask me for something. Even if she wanted me to approach someone I despised, I wouldn't hesitate. Because I love her. Sigh. Just thinking about how Caden had forcibly taken her away today made my heart bleed. She still had feelings for that domineering heir. Otherwise, with her temper, how could she have obeyed him so quickly? But Rosaline was determined to find Candice, and I had a vague idea why. Without hesitation, I dialed Candice's number. "Candice, it's Jasper." "Jasper?" Candice's voice instantly turned excited upon hearing it was me. It was the first time I had ever called her. I spoke indifferently. "Our production crew needs a pianist. We want to invite you." "No problem. Why don't you come to my place tonight so we can discuss the details?" I was momentarily stunned. I had planned to send my assistant the contract for her to sign. But she wanted me to go in person? "If you don't come, I won't agree," Candice said, her tone hinting at playful coquettishness. I frowned slightly but could only agree. As night fell, I drove to her apartment. Pressing the doorbell, I was greeted by Candice, dressed in a revealing silk slip dress. Her eyes flickered with affection when she saw me. "Jasper, you're here." I hadn't expected her to be dressed so lightly. My brows furrowed, and I quickly averted my gaze. Candice's eyes dimmed slightly, but she soon laughed charmingly. "Sorry, I always dress casually at home. I'll grab a jacket. Come in." I nodded and stepped inside. She slipped on a silk jacket, clinging to her figure in a way that made her silhouette even more enticing. I sighed inwardly. After spending years in the entertainment industry, I knew precisely what Candice was getting at. But I had no interest in this woman—not even for a second. If not for Rosaline, I wouldn't have come here at all.
