The Despised Luna's Comeback
Caden's POV: After hearing Rosaline's words, a sudden sense of relief washed over me. Why didn't I consider that before? Rosaline was the only one who could make me irrational like this. Still, it bothered me that Jasper was so infatuated with Rosaline, chasing after her for two whole years. The thing is, I was actually going to propose to Rosaline again tonight. But instead of staying with me, she left and went to the awards ceremony with Jasper. Did this mean ... that in Rosaline's heart, Jasper might be more important than I did? "Rosaline, come with me," I stood up and took her hand. Rosaline was taken aback. "Where are we going?" "You'll know when you come with me," I said, pulling her toward the door. She resisted a bit. "Caden, I'm exhausted. I don't want to go anywhere." Her strength caught me by surprise, and I stopped in my tracks, turning to study her more closely. Seeing the exhaustion on her face, my heart softened. She had been dealing with reporters all night, so it was no surprise she was exhausted. I spoke gently, "Then, tomorrow." She seemed a little confused and stayed silent. I sighed, leaning in close to her ear. "Rosaline, give me another chance. Come back to me." Rosaline's POV: His warm breath on my face made my skin tingle. I froze for a moment, then pushed Caden away. "It's late. I need to rest." Without another word, I walked straight to the door, opened it, and bluntly ordered, "You can leave now."Seeing my cold, distant demeanor, Caden furrowed his brows, his expression darkening. The next second, he dramatically placed a hand on his chest and said, "I feel awful." "What's wrong with you?" I was taken aback. His handsome face was pale, and cold sweat beaded on his forehead.. He pointed at his chest, looking in pain. "It hurts here." Seeing him like this, I hurried over to steady him. "Let me see," I said, helping him sit down on the couch. He smirked. "Do you care about me?" I ignored his comment, reaching out my right hand to check his pulse. Caden's pulse was steady, with nothing unusual. Was he pretending to be sick? I frowned slightly and glanced down at Caden, my voice cold as I asked, "Where exactly does it hurt?" "It's here," Caden replied, still pointing at his chest and feigning pain. I stood up and pulled out my phone. "If you're really in pain, I'll call a car to take you to the hospital for a check-up." "You just need to check me," Caden said, pulling me closer, his gaze deep and intense. "I only want you to check." I was at a loss for words. Was he really sick? I bet he was faking it! "Alright, I've checked you, and there's nothing wrong. You should go now," I said, pulling my arm away firmly. Caden looked at me with a pitiful expression. "I'm sick, and you're kicking me out?" "What's wrong with you?" I scoffed. "I don't see anything wrong at all." Caden suddenly stood up, towering over Rosaline. His eyes were intense, and his voice was low as he said, "It's lovesickness."Then, he added, "The kind that only you can cure." "Ugh, this guy really knows how to flirt!" Freya couldn't help but shout. My face turned red. "I'm done with this," I said with a deep breath, pushing Caden away. Caden groaned dramatically again. "My heart aches so much! Rosaline, please help me ... " "What do you want from me?" I asked, staring at Caden, who was sprawled on the couch, pretending to be in pain. I was speechless. This guy was soon to be Alpha of the Eclipse Pack, and yet he was acting so shamelessly. Caden smiled, and his piercing eyes narrowed slightly. "I'm staying here tonight." "Do whatever you want," I muttered, no longer willing to deal with his shameless behavior. "Help me to bed," Caden pushed further. I rolled my eyes. "Don't take it too far." "Doctors are responsible for taking care of their patients," Caden said, his long hand gripping my arm tightly. "Fine, sleep on the couch!" I pushed him toward the sofa and turned to walk away. But before I could take another step, Caden swiftly stood up and lifted me in his arms. "Caden, what are you doing?!" I was caught off guard, and suddenly lifted into the air and into his arms. Ignoring my protests, he carried me to the bed and laid me down, positioning himself on top. "Let me go!" I struggled to break free. "Rosaline, don't move. Let me hold you," Caden said, pulling me closer into a firm embrace.
