The Despised Luna's Comeback
Rosaline's POV: With the werewolf bodyguards escorting me, I got into Jasper's car. "Rosaline, I'll drive you home," Jasper said, glancing at me before gripping the steering wheel and starting the engine. "Sure," I said calmly and nodded. We remained silent throughout the ride, and the atmosphere felt a bit awkward. After a long night of chaos, I was feeling a bit tired, so I leaned back in my seat and closed my eyes. I wasn't sure how much time had passed, but suddenly, the car came to a stop. "Are we there?" I mumbled, still half-asleep, as the brakes woke me up. I looked out the window, realizing we hadn't reached Elderwood. Jasper pulled over to the side of the road, his handsome face showing a hint of melancholy. He had been holding it in the whole ride, but finally, he couldn't take it anymore. "Rosaline, why?" "Why what?" I replied, pressing my lips together. Jasper's voice was tinged with frustration as he asked, "Why did you turn me down?" "I should be asking you the same thing," I said, frowning. "Were you planning to put me in a position where I couldn't say no?" "No, Rosaline. I want you to say yes. I want to be with you, and I promise I'll make you happy," Jasper said, looking at me sadly. "Jasper, didn't I already tell you that we're not meant to be?" Seeing how he looked, I sighed. "Is it because of Caden? You can't move on from him, right?" Jasper pressed further. I stayed silent. "You've done so much for Caden, but what has he ever done for you?" Jasper became agitated. "Caden doesn't deserve you—" "Jasper, I don't want to talk about this anymore. Please just take me home," I interrupted him.He fell silent and looked at me for a few seconds, and finally said, "Okay." Jasper drove me to Elderwood and stopped the car. I opened the door and quietly got out. Jasper quickly caught up, and said in a deep voice, "I'm sorry, Rosaline. I was too impulsive tonight and didn't ask for your permission—" I stopped for a moment, turned to glance at Jasper, and cut him off. "Let's not talk about this anymore. Focus on making 'The Call of the Wolf' a success. And by the way, see if you can find a role that suits me." Then, I walked into the apartment without looking back. "Alpha, I can feel it. Jasper's really upset, in pain, and feeling lost." Freya appeared suddenly, offering her a reminder. "I know, Freya. He's a great friend and partner. But ... I don't love him," I explained, feeling a bit helpless. "What if the Moon Goddess ties the red thread for you? Would you fall in love with him?" I fell silent. Where exactly was the red thread of the Moon Goddess? And who was my destined mate? When I returned to the apartment, I pulled out my key and unlocked the door. As soon as I stepped inside, I saw a tall, slender figure sitting on the couch in the living room. "Who's there?" My heart skipped a beat, and I demanded loudly. The man sitting on the couch suddenly stood up. In the faint moonlight, I was able to clearly see his figure. Dressed in a black suit, he almost blended into the night. His tall, commanding figure radiated a cold aura. It was Caden. "What are you doing in my place?!" I switched on the lights, rubbing my forehead. "Looks like I'll need to add a few more locks tomorrow." "No matter how many locks you add, if I want to, I can still see you," Caden said, stepping close, and standing before me.His intense gaze lingered on my face, and his lips curled slightly. "Rosaline, how many things are you still hiding from me?" "I've never hidden anything from you," I replied coolly. Before I could say anything else, he wrapped his arm around my waist. The heat of his touch spread through my waist, and with one strong pull, he brought me down onto the couch. "Caden, what are you doing?" I asked coldly as I fell into his arms. I was done playing along. If he made another move, I wouldn't hesitate to reveal my Shadow Pack Alpha identity tonight. His hands pressed firmly on my shoulders as he spoke coldly, "Why have you never told me that you're the owner of Starplay Entertainment, the wealthy heiress Jasper's been chasing?" "I don't have any relationship with you, so I don't owe you an explanation," I said indifferently. Caden's already cold expression darkened even more. He gripped my shoulders tighter, firing off a series of questions. "You don't have any relationship with me? Then what is Jasper to you? What exactly is your relationship with him?" Facing Caden's barrage of questions, I felt even more exasperated. "I've already made myself clear to everyone today. I don't feel like repeating it." Caden's expression darkened further. "Are you and Jasper just partners?" "If something was going on between us, why wouldn't I just say yes to being his Luna? Why would I make up some story?" I pursed my lips, retorting with a look of exasperation.
