The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 215 Have You Seen My Parents?

Mr. Richard could be saved! I couldn't contain my excitement and asked, "Hughie, do you still remember me?" "You're Sal?" Hughie squinted his eyes in surprise, staring intensely at me standing in the doorway. His voice trembled as he mumbled to himself, "Sal, Sal ... " Sal? Who is that? I was taken aback. "Hughie, don't you recognize me? It's Rosaline." "Rosaline?" Hughie snapped back to reality, his eyes briefly flickering with disappointment. He spoke softly, "Oh, it's you." "Yeah, Hughie, you remember me, right? When I was a child, I fell seriously ill, and you saved me. Later, you even taught me medicine." I spoke quickly, almost pleading. Hughie nodded, scanning me from head to toe. There was a hint of nostalgia in his voice as he said, "You've grown so much. Come inside, and we can talk." Relief washed over me when I realized that Hughie still remembered me. I turned to Yura and Jasper and said, "You two wait for me outside." I knew Hughie didn't like unfamiliar faces. As I entered the little cabin, Hughie slammed the door shut behind me. "Sit," Hughie gestured to a wooden bench in the room. "How did you know I was here?" I sat down as instructed, then got straight to the point. "Hughie, I came here to ask for your help." "You need me to treat someone?" Hughie guessed my request, but his tone was firm, "Go back. I won't leave here." Desperation crept into my voice as I pleaded, "Hughie, I know this is sudden, but Mr. Richard's life is hanging by a thread. You're the only one who can save him. Please help me." "Mr. Richard? You mean the Alpha of Eclipse Pack?" Hughie frowned slightly. "Yes, Mr. Richard and my grandfather were close friends. They have been through life and death situations together. Hughie, please, for my grandfather's sake, help Mr. Richard. Can you?" I grabbed Hughie's arm, pleading earnestly. After all, Mr. Richard's illness was partly my responsibility. If Hughie refused, I would feel guilty for the rest of my life. Hughie sighed lightly, thinking for a moment before finally nodding. "Hughie, did you agree?" My heart lifted. "Mm." Hughie replied with a simple, indifferent grunt. "Thank you, Hughie." A heavy weight lifted off my chest, and a smile spread across my face. "Can we go to Rivemon as soon as possible?" Now that I had found Hughie, the sooner we left, the sooner Richard would recover. "I'll pack." Hughie stood up, went into the back room, and grabbed a wooden chest, strapping it to his back. "Rosaline, do you remember anything from before?" Hughie suddenly asked, looking at me. I paused, unsure. Before ... Was it from the time before my illness? My eyes dimmed. "I don't remember much from when I was a child. Grandpa said it's a side effect from the illness. Is that true?" "Mm." Hughie nodded vaguely. "Let's go!" "Hughie, have you ever seen my parents? What do they look like?" I hesitated before asking. This was a question I had asked my grandfather many times, but each time, he either changed the subject or became upset. So, I stopped asking out of fear of upsetting him. Maybe Hughie knows something? "No. When I went to your house, it was only you and your grandfather." Hughie's eyes flickered slightly. His answer left me feeling disappointed. My instincts told me there was something he was hiding from me. What could it be? I understood Hughie's temperament—if he didn't want to talk, no matter how many times I asked, it wouldn't help.Forget it. The most important thing now is to get back to Rivemon so Hughie can save Mr. Richard. Walking side by side with Hughie out of the cabin, Yura and Jasper hurried to meet us. "This is Hughie." I smiled and introduced them. "Hughie, these are my friends, Yura and Jasper." "Dr. Watts, we've heard a lot about you." Yura and Jasper spoke with great respect. Hughie, however, only glanced at them briefly, indifferent as ever. On the Werewolf Continent, rumors had long circulated about Hughie's strange temper, so Yura and Jasper, knowing this, exchanged a look and silently fell in step behind me. As we reached the town, a tall figure suddenly appeared in front of me. I furrowed my brows. "Caden, what are you doing?" "I'm waiting for you." Caden's voice was low and serious. "Don't worry, I've found Hughie. He agreed to come back to Rivemon and help your grandfather," I reassured him.
