The Heiress' Savage Comeback
Andrew was demonstrating a certain shrewdness this time. As he gazed at the bracelet adorning his wrist, an odd sensation stirred within him. He came to the realization that he should have discarded it sooner. Turning to Jodie, he proposed, "Jo, let's enlist Master Shawn's aid to reverse our ill fortune." "Kindly take back this bracelet." "Once the variety show concludes, we'll track down the individual who persuaded you into this." "Let's see if he can ward off the repercussions." "We could also seek assistance from the Gray family's geomancy experts." Jodie was left speechless by his appalling suggestions. As if that would make a difference, those two so-called masters are mere novices compared to Bailey. Andrew was attempting to harm her, which only served to heighten her discomfort. He seemed indifferent to the fact that she would be plagued by misfortune. He was swayed by Zac and Aaron's provocation and was eager to alter their luck immediately. She would never harbor any affection for him again. Nonetheless, she managed to muster a smile and nodded in agreement. "Alright." She then turned to Bailey and stressed, "We'll be relying on your help." Bailey could discern Jodie's reluctance. She had better follow through with her promise; otherwise... He nonchalantly stated, "After the variety show wraps up, you can compensate me with 1.5 million." Andrew promptly agreed, "No problem. I'll pay you." Though parting with such a substantial sum is painful for him. However, money can be earned back, but it would be problematic if their luck doesn't return. Moreover, he had no desire to remain so unfortunate. Bailey requested a staff member to bring an empty bowl. It still contained half a bowl of water. He instructed the pair, "Each of you should drop three droplets of blood into the bowl." "Write down your birth date and time, but ensure it's concealed from the live broadcast." "Pluck out three strands of your hair and toss them into the bowl." Without hesitation, Andrew used a fruit knife from the table to slice his finger, squeezing three droplets of blood into the bowl. He then plucked out three strands of hair and cast them in. Subsequently, he passed the fruit knife to Jodie Gray. Jodie reluctantly rose to her feet and reached out to accept the fruit knife. She extended her finger over the bowl, her gaze fixated on it. Then, she bit down on a concealed pill in her mouth, and her complexion instantly turned ashen. She raised her hand to her forehead and exclaimed, "I feel dizzy. I'm about to faint." Then, she swayed a few times before collapsing onto the ground. Zac couldn't resist commenting, "She certainly picked the perfect moment to faint." Everyone in the live stream room was rendered speechless. Her timing was impeccable. Jonah was equally dumbfounded. It turned out Jodie had been lying in wait for them here. All the previous theatrics had been a complete waste of everyone's emotions. "Have the medical staff attend to her." Soon, the production team's doctors rushed over to examine Jodie. "She has indeed fainted." Jonah inquired, "Can you determine why she fainted?" The doctor responded, "It appears to be due to low blood pressure." Jonah couldn't help but remark, "This bloodstain is crucial." He added, "Please assist her to rest and ensure she's well taken care of." There was no way to rectify the situation when Jodie had conveniently fainted. They could only escort her to rest. Otherwise, the production team would be accused of being inhumane. Andrew watched in a daze as the medical staff carried Jodie away. Aaron noticed this and patted his shoulder. "Andrew, it's going to be challenging for you to regain your luck now." "No matter how sweetly she speaks. It's futile if she doesn't take any concrete action." He then turned to Bailey and asked, "Master Shawn, you mentioned earlier that the most challenging aspect is whether she's willing." "Did you already discern that she's unwilling?" Bailey candidly replied, "Yes. Her eyes are brimming with reluctance." "And since she's keen to borrow luck, why would she possibly want to return it?" He was thoroughly disgusted with people who toyed around like this. She should have expressed her unwillingness earlier if she didn't want to return it. Going through such an elaborate charade, to stage a "fainting" incident, did she think he couldn't see through her act? Did she think he was oblivious to the fact that she had ingested a pill that could induce fainting? He glanced at Andrew again and stated, "So, it's not going to be easy for you to resolve this." Andrew's expression shifted, a sense of embarrassment washing over him. It turned out that all this commotion was merely Jo toying with him. If she didn't want to return it, she could have simply stated it outright. He didn't need to coerce her into returning it now. Once the variety show concluded, they could have sought a solution together. But she professed to be acting in his best interest, to restore his luck.Yet she still resorted to this transparent ruse. Where did that leave him? He asked Bailey, "If she doesn't want to return it, does that mean I can never regain my luck?" Bailey replied, "Not necessarily." "If she refuses, there are methods to forcibly resolve it." "But that would necessitate more effort on my part." "And if I forcefully reclaim it, she will suffer twice the backlash." "If you experience bad luck for three years, she will endure twice that." "In terms of duration, if you're unlucky for ten to twenty years, she will suffer twice that as well." "After all, borrowing luck isn't exactly a virtuous act," he said with a significant glance. "It all hinges on whether you're willing to go through with it." He had initially been hesitant to forcibly reclaim it. After all, he and Jodie's destinies were somewhat intertwined. But daring to deceive him would come with a price. Simone had been observing Bailey all along. He noticed that Bailey seemed more inclined to forcibly assist Andrew. That was why he suggested that Jodie return it voluntarily. It was a much simpler solution than forcibly reclaiming it. But now that he had made this suggestion, Jodie had likely crossed a line and incensed him. So, this seemingly detached elder was quite whimsical and petty. If Jodie knew that she had actually worsened her situation, would she regret it?Returning it voluntarily would undoubtedly backfire. But the person backing Jodie should be able to devise a method to help resist. Bailey probably wouldn't resort to extreme measures. If they forcibly reclaimed it, then there would be no reasonable solutions left. She looked at Andrew, her gaze locked onto him. Everything now depended on whether this despicable man would subject Jo to further suffering.
