I Married My Ex's Billionaire Uncle
Liza’s POV His eyes were steady but hard to read before he kissed my lips. I darted my tongue out to have a taste of those sweetness and my eyes light up in happiness. When he eventually pulls away, I couldn't help but muttered. “Thanks.” He mumbled beneath his breath, not looking one bit pleased that I was obsessed with his sweet lips. I waved the thought away and walked back in to grab my purse before heading out to the hospital. When I got to the hospital, I followed the description of the ward and I got it the moment I saw Victoria come in and walked back in immediately. I went towards the direction and stopped just at the door when I heard Serena mention my name. “Please don't blame Liza, mom and Dad. She isn’t to blame. It's all my fault. Please don't get mad at her!” “Serena, don't defend her anymore!” The anger in Mr Sinclair’s voice was poignant. “Do you have any idea what we've lost? That was the child of the Stone family-our grandchild.” Victoria couldn't stop crying next to him. “Oh, my poor girl! What did we do to deserve this? Liza did it all; she's to blame for everything!” Eventually, I spoke up. “Why exactly do you all blame me? Maybe you should blame yourself first for your mistakes.” They all turned as I walked in. I looked at Serena’s pale face and gave her a small smile. Her body tensed up immediately. “Liza, when did you get here?” Her voice was rough. “Do not pay attention to mom, she's just too sad to do anything….I understand why you feel that way. It could just be my fate. The child and I were not meant to be together.” She placed a shaky hand on her stomach as she began to cry, letting tears ran down her face. Anyone who didn't know better like Dad and her mom, would have felt sorry for her and believed every word that came out of her mouth. But not me. Victoria suddenly charged at me, her hands raised in the air with anger. “You jerk! Don't show your face here! You killed my grandchild. This will cost you your life!” I didn't move or flinched but instead, I kicked a nearby wooden chair in front of her to stop her. She stumbled due to it and for a moment, her anger was overwhelmed by shock. “That's one way to make an appearance,” I said and crossed my arms against my bosom, looking them straight in the eyes . “Don't start making charges as soon as I walked in. It hadn't been decided yet whether I am to blame for your grandson ‘s death.” Serena’s eyes were filled with tears and she stared at me with a hurtful look as she bite her lips as if to control her emotions. Finally, she spoke, her voice soft and shaking. “Liza is right. She wasn't the one who killed my child. Dad and mom, let's not talk about this anymore, please? We're family afterall. I just want our home to be peaceful and quiet. I'm content as long Liza is happy.” She lowered her voice and turned her head away. “I guess it's better than the child is gone. At least Liza can be with Brandon without any problems now. I truly hope they are both happy in their marriage.” Serena’s show was as perfect as ever. It was so realistic that it was easy to see why I had been fooled into believing everything she said. I thought my life was safe and steady at that time, I had no idea how much I had been fooled. Mr Sinclair clenched his hands into fists. “Take a look at your sister! Look at how kind she is, after all she's been through! Then take a look at yourself! You're completely greedy! That marriage deal seemed more important to you than your family. Both Brandon and Serena have known each other since they were kids. You must not care about them at all to want to pull them apart.” He was yelling and breathing heavily. “I've made up my mind; you'll step aside and let your sister marry Brandon. Think of it as making up for what she's lost!” “That's not going to happen,” I waved a finger around in demonstration. That made Victoria to lose it again. “Do you want to completely destroy Serena? You want to take away her love after taking away her child? Why are you being so mean?” She broke down into tears and Serena also began to cry as she dropped her head on the hospital bed. With my lips turning up in a wide grin, I asked. “How long do you plan to keep up this act, Serena? Does it make you feel good to see your parents crazy for you?” Her head shot up and her face showed a mix of shock and confusion. “Li…Liza, what are you talking about? I don't get what you…” I laughed again and cut her short. “I see you're still trying to lie. You won't stop until you see the truth right?” Serena didn't say a word so I opened my phone and tapped the screen a few times. After a short time, a man’s voice filled the room.
