I Married My Ex's Billionaire Uncle
“Ah! My dress!” The woman’s shrill voice cut through the air as she looked down at herself in horror. Her pristine white dress was now streaked with orange juice. Fury flared in her eyes as she turned to Liza, her tone sharp and accusing. “Are you blind?! Look at what you’ve done! This dress is brand new! What are you going to do about it now?” Before Liza could respond, the woman shoved her roughly into the corner of the wall. Pain shot through Liza’s body, but she remained composed, her expression calm despite the throbbing ache. It was typical, she thought grimly. The one at fault was often the loudest to complain. When her eyes fell on the woman’s dress, now ruined with vivid orange stains, Liza decided not to argue. “How much was the dress? I’ll pay you back.” Her offer should have been enough, but the woman merely scoffed.“Pay me? Can you even afford it?” she sneered, crossing her arms. “Do you have any idea what this dress is? It’s a limited edition! You couldn’t buy it even if you wanted to. Money won’t fix this! Apologize immediately!” Liza glanced at the dress. It was clear that it wasn’t some exclusive piece. She recognized the brand—it was available at the mall and could be easily replaced. “I’ll buy you a new one,” she replied, her tone steady. But the woman’s arrogance only grew. “I don’t trust you. Pay me now!” she demanded, her voice dripping with condescension. “How do I know you won’t run off?” Liza’s patience began to wane. It was becoming clear that this woman was looking for trouble. You were the one who bumped into me, yet you’re acting so unreasonable? A waiter hurried over, hoping to diffuse the situation. When he saw the woman, his face paled slightly. “ Miss Susan, I’m terribly sorry. It was just an accident…”He turned to Liza apologetically. “She’s already offered to compensate you, Miss Susan. Please don’t get upset.” “An accident?” Miss Susan snapped, her anger rising further. “How do you know it was an accident on her part? My dress costs over ten thousand ! Do you think I should just forgive her?” Her voice grew louder as she reached for a glass on the table. Without warning, she smashed it onto the floor, the sound of shattering glass startling everyone nearby. “This dress costs more than ten thousand !” she shrieked. “That’s probably what she earns in two months. If she doesn’t pay me now, I’m calling the police!” The waiter’s face filled with dread. Miss Susan wasn’t just anyone—she was the girlfriend of Jason, a prominent figure in the city. To make matters worse, Jason and Alora, another influential name, were both present in the restaurant. It was no wonder Miss Susan was acting so entitled and bold. The waiter tried once more to calm her down, his voice low and cautious. “ Miss Susan, please, let’s resolve this calmly.” But Miss Susan wasn’t interested in compromise. Her glare remained fixed on Liza, her arms crossed as if daring her to defy her demands. Liza, however, didn’t flinch. Taking a deep breath, she met Miss Susan’s gaze head-on. Then, with a smirk tugging at her lips, she said firmly, “Go ahead. Call the police.” The room fell silent. Everyone around them froze, their expressions a mix of shock and intrigue. Miss Susan, who had been expecting Liza to cower or beg for forgiveness, now looked momentarily stunned. Liza’s tone was steady as she spoke, her words laced with calm confidence. “ Miss Susan, I came here tonight looking forward to a nice dinner. I wasn’t planning on starting an argument. But let’s be honest—you bumped into me, and yet you’re the one making a scene. Does that seem fair to you?”Her gaze sharpened. “It seems my politeness earlier only encouraged your arrogance.” Susan’s face flushed with anger. “You…!” she stammered, struggling to form a retort. Unfazed, Liza continued, her voice deliberate and cool. “Frankly, I regret offering to compensate you. If you want to involve the police, be my guest. Let’s review the surveillance footage together. I’m sure it’ll make it clear who’s at fault.” The air in the room grew tense, the onlookers exchanging glances as the confrontation escalated. Susan clenched her fists, her expression darkening. “You… you think you’re so clever, don’t you?” Before she could say more, a voice interrupted. “What’s all this noise about?” A man stepped forward from the crowd, his appearance immediately commanding attention. Dressed in designer clothing and exuding an air of wealth and privilege, he carried himself with an entitled confidence. He stopped next to Susan and frowned, his tone impatient. “This isn’t the place for your tantrums, Susan. Don’t forget where you are and who you are.” Susan’s demeanor shifted instantly. Her previously aggressive expression melted into one of feigned innocence, her voice softening as she turned to the man. “Jason, she’s the one who bumped into me and ruined my dress! Look at it—it’s completely ruined! You have to help me teach her a lesson.” Jason’s eyes moved to Liza, and his expression changed subtly. Recognition flashed across his face, followed quickly by disdain. It’s her, he thought, a wave of irritation washing over him. This was the woman who had overshadowed his cousin, Alora. She had "stolen" Gavin away and even managed to charm Henry. In his eyes, she was nothing but a schemer who thrived on taking what didn’t belong to her. And now, here she was again, standing in front of him like an uninvited reminder of past grievances.Jason let out a cold chuckle, his lips curling into a smirk. “Well, well, if it isn’t Miss Liza herself.” Liza raised an eyebrow, her calm demeanor unshaken. She studied Jason briefly, but no flicker of recognition came to her. She was certain she’d never met him before. Nevertheless, his demeanor didn’t sit well with her. Without a word, she reached for her phone, prepared to call the police. But Jason was quicker. In a single stride, he closed the distance between them, snatched the phone from her hand, and slammed it to the ground. The loud crack of breaking glass echoed through the room. “Calling the police?” Jason sneered. “Let’s not make a big deal out of this, Miss Liza. It’s just a little accident. Apologize to Susan, and we’ll consider this over.” He stepped closer, his tone darkening. “But if you don’t… well, things might get unpleasant for you. Oh, and just so you know,” he added with a smug grin, “I’m very close with your husband. Do you really think Gavin would risk offending me for your sake?”
