I Married My Ex's Billionaire Uncle
Gavin’s POV Apparently, Black Tide was truly the one responsible for the hacking in Li City's Hospital. After learning from George that the hacker was Black Tide, I knew it was time to reach out. We had met in an unusual way. Black Tide and I were like a secret ally. Even though we had never seen each other, there was a mutual respect and trust between us. We could have easily uncovered each other’s identities but we chose not to. It was an unspoken rule and I enjoyed the mystery behind this friendship. Liza slid her bowl of rice towards me, making me look away from my phone, and drifting my attention away from the situation Black Tide had brought up. It had left me reflecting on my behavior with Liza. While my marriage with Liza wasn't built on romance, I understand that to most women, marriage implied an emotional and physical connection. Wanting to bridge that gap wasn't unreasonable on her part. “Are you really not going to eat?” She didn't reply to me. With a sigh, I reached out and gently grasped her wrist, my tone soft. “You're skipping dinner because I didn't kiss you? Isn't this a bit childish?” She puckered her lips in silent protest, refusing to say a word. I frowned slightly. Was she being serious right now? “Alright fine,” I muttered, releasing her wrist. Before she could react, I suddenly pulled her closer, one arm circling her waist. Without hesitation, I leaned in and pressed my lips against hers. She froze against my body.I smirked with pride at her reaction. When I pulled away, I brushed my lips against her ear and teased. “Cat got your tongue? Why aren't you saying anything now? Or could it be that this is your first real kiss?” Her wide eyes betrayed her shock. She opened her mouth to speak but no words came out. I chuckled softly at her silence. Who would have thought the daring, fiery Liza could be silent? “Here I was thinking you were bold and daring. Turns out you're far from it.” My tone was playful, expecting another reaction from her. She jolted upright, blink and twitched her lips. I tried to figure out what she was thinking but I couldn't. Her eyes narrowed and began to water. I raised a brow in question. “Don't tell me you're going to cry?” I asked cautiously.“Cry?” She scoffed. “It's been years since I cried and this is not enough for me to cry.” She suddenly regained her composure as she reached up, her fingers curling around the back of my neck, surprising me. Then she kissed me. This time, she wasn't timid. She moaned against my lips like she had found something intriguing—something too sweet to let go of. She was tasting me—tasting and kissing every inch of my lips and my mouth, making me feel my self-control vanish into thin air. When she bite my lower lips, a groan left my mouth and she smiled against my lips. Her hands pulling at the back of my head were tight, making me realize this kiss was far more intense than anything else we've ever shared. My eyes widened, caught off-guard by the sudden boldness and the unexpected reaction. Unfortunately, the kiss was brief, leaving me momentarily hazy and breathless. I could barely think straight. “Are you….” I paused when she pulled back with a satisfied expression. Without warning, I grabbed a meatball from the table and stuffed it into her mouth. “Are you kissing me like I'm some kind of snack?” That was exactly how it felt. I watched her smile and bite into the meatball, her eyes sparkling with genuine joy. She also picked up her chopsticks and started eating with a renewed source of determination. I watched in stunned silence. Just a few minutes ago, she had shown no interest at all in eating and here she was downing everything like she had a full-grown appetite. When her gaze drifted to mine, I tried to look away but I noticed the intense gleaming in her eyes.“Why are you staring at me like that?” I found myself asking against my will. Her expression was unsettling—predatory, almost life a wolf, eyeing its next meal. She swallowed the last bite of food and a bright smile spread across her face. “Oh nothing. Just wanted to say dinner was delicious.” Her tone was too cheerful, almost like her words were mocking me. I blinked in confusion. “Delicious?” She nodded intermittently. I narrowed my eyes. “Are you teasing me right now?” I watched the enigmatic woman I married laughed softly, stood up from the chair and leaned further into me, as thought she wanted to whisper something into my ears. Instead, she pecked my lips and whirled back quickly, heading upstairs with a satisfied grin on her face.
