The Replacement He Never Wanted
As Georgina spoke, she moved closer, her finger almost poking Addison's face. Addison quickly stepped back, pursing her lips after being scolded. Matthew frowned upon hearing Georgina's words and prepared to call the bodyguards if she took another step. "Can't you find a more refined trick? This is too low! "Maybe you were the one who locked yourself in the dressing room to set me up!" Georgina believed that if Addison was capable of something as low as chasing after someone else's boyfriend, she could certainly pull off other dirty tricks. "I won't apologize for something I hadn't done!" Georgina's voice grew louder, and she closed the distance between them, now only a couple of feet apart. Matthew, unable to watch any longer, waved his hand, signaling the bodyguards. They immediately stepped in, grabbing Georgina's shoulder and pulling her back."What are you doing?" William, who was always protective of his granddaughter, immediately stepped in to stop them. "Get lost!" He rushed forward and pushed the bodyguards aside with force. The bodyguards recognized him and knew his high status, so they didn't dare to resist and silently released Georgina. "How are you feeling? Are you hurt anywhere?" William asked with genuine concern, his hand resting on his granddaughter's shoulder as he checked her over, worried he might miss something. "I'm fine," Georgina replied calmly, pinching her shoulder. "Are you truly okay?" William's eyes stayed on her, making sure not to miss anything. "I'm fine." She waved him off. Georgina stood up straight, pulling William behind her, and turned to face Addison. "Addison, don't think your status as an heiress can intimidate everyone. "You can only push around people like Virginia, who are too kind and gentle. I'm not like that. "I've seen more powerful people than her, and I won't fall for your schemes." Addison may be the Daves' heiress, but what's that supposed to mean? Does she think her title could crush me? Just because I said a few words, she had the bodyguards shut me up! What a temper! "Did my words hit a nerve, Addison? You couldn't wait to get the bodyguards to stop me?" Georgina's voice grew stronger. "You can't silence me." So what if Addison is the Daves' heiress? I'm the Hamiltons' heiress! There wasn't much difference between their positions. Georgina wasn't going to let Addison throw dirt on her just because she came from the Daves. Georgina would never admit to something she didn't do. "Didn't you lock the dressing room door?" Addison finally broke the silence. "Of course not!" Georgina replied, holding her chin up with confidence. "Then why did you lead me to such a secluded dressing room? There are closer ones at the Medical Symposium. Why the one in the corner?" Addison pressed. Georgina hesitated, unsure how to answer. Before she could speak, Addison cut her off. "You know the venue well. Don't tell me you didn't realize there were other dressing rooms. I don't want to hear any lame excuses." Addison's words stopped Georgina dead in her tracks. "No answer?" Addison raised an eyebrow and stood tall, her eyes filled with coldness and mockery. Georgina's earlier confidence had vanished. She couldn't find the words to explain. When she led Addison to that dressing room, she had some dark thoughts, but she never acted on them. Still, if she tried to explain, Addison wouldn't believe her. In truth, neither would the Daves. Who would believe that she had evil thoughts toward Addison but ended up doing nothing? "Still silent?" Addison's patience seemed to be running thin. She crossed her arms and gave Georgina a cold, judgmental stare. "Let me ask you something else. Did you purposely spill wine on me?" Georgina bit her lip, feeling the eyes of everyone around her. They were all waiting for her answer. "Not going to answer?" Addison's steps were slow, each one seeming to weigh on Georgina. "If you stay silent, can I take that as consent??" The silence lingered. Georgina stood frozen, her mouth seemingly shut tight, unsure what to say. She had indeed splashed the wine on Addison with intent, but that was the only thing she had done. She wasn't involved in whatever happened with the dressing room door. William, standing beside them, looked increasingly uncomfortable. He had been unsure at first, but seeing his granddaughter's attitude, he now believed it was all but confirmed. "Enough, Georgina. Apologize now. When we go home, I'll have the chef make your favorite pastries." Despite everything, he still spoiled her. He didn't care if she was right or wrong in this situation—she was his precious granddaughter, and that was all that mattered. It was a lot like Matthew, whose love for his granddaughter was just as unwavering. Two grandfathers who spoiled their granddaughters equally came face-to-face, and it was like two stubborn rocks clashing, neither one willing to give in. "People need to face the consequences of their actions. You need to apologize to Angel," Matthew said seriously. "I won't apologize," Georgina spat out through clenched teeth. "Georgina, be good and apologize. Then we can go home," William urged. "I said I won't apologize!" Georgina yelled, her voice sharp. The temperature in the room seemed to drop along with her outburst. Addison stood silently, her gaze intense as she thought about something. After a brief pause, she spoke, "Tell me, does this have anything to do with Virginia? If you tell me the truth, we can end this." Addison stared steadily at Georgina, her words calm yet firm."Angel, don't worry. I'm supporting you! Don't give up," Matthew said, thinking his granddaughter was about to back down. He tugged gently at Addison's sleeve. Addison squeezed his hand reassuringly. "Virginia?" Georgina murmured in surprise. Addison raised an eyebrow. "Yes. Is she involved?" Her voice was slow, almost hard to read. Looking at Georgina's face, Addison realized she wasn't pretending. If Georgina wasn't responsible, then Virginia must be the one who did it. The memories of everything Virginia had done to her rushed into Addison's mind, and she couldn't help but smile. She had let one or two things slide before, but now, with everything building up, it was impossible to ignore.
