Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 98 Half-Siblings?

Taylor’s POV I couldn’t believe the flood of praise online. I clearly remembered—I’d made major changes to that design. There was no way it could look like that! Could it be… Raelynn, that Omega, actually came up with a brand new design in just one afternoon? Is that her talent? A massive wave of jealousy surged inside me. If Raelynn could casually whip up something like that, and be so impressive, then wouldn’t Aiden be even more drawn to her? Thinking about it made me panic. I had to lock things down with Aiden as soon as possible—if not, she could lure him away at any moment. If those two ended up together, everything I’d worked so hard for over the years would go to waste. After thinking it over, I called Madam Salvatore and told her I wanted to have dinner at Eclipse Pack tonight. Madam Salvatore had warmed up to me recently and agreed right away. That evening, I went as planned. Madam Salvatore was thrilled to see me. She brought out loads of fruit and snacks to welcome me. We were chatting happily when Raelynn walked in. The moment she saw me, her expression tightened. “Raelynn, you’re not upset that I’m here, are you?” I smiled sweetly at her from beside Madam Salvatore. She didn’t answer, but her face clearly showed her displeasure. “I just missed Madam Salvatore and wanted to have dinner with her. I’m sure you don’t mind that, right?” Regina beamed. “Of course not! This is the Eclipse Pack, not the Li Pack. You’re welcome here anytime. Who would dare stop you?” “Of course not. Do whatever you want,” Raelynn said coldly, then walked right past me upstairs. I turned to Madam Salvatore and said deliberately, “Raelynn, even if you don’t like me, at least show some respect to Madam Salvatore. She cooked this entire meal herself today—you could at least have a bite.” Madam Salvatore’s face fell. “That’s right. I worked hard on this. You’re not going to waste it, are you?” Raelynn glared at me for several seconds, then reluctantly sat back down at the table. A while later, Aiden came home. The moment he saw me, his voice turned cold. “What are you doing here?” I wasn’t expecting him to embarrass me like that. I froze, then forced a smile. “I just wanted to see Madam Salvatore…” “Aiden, Taylor’s showing a lot of love and respect. I spoiled her so much when she was little,” Madam Salvatore said, giving me a pat on the hand. “Just look at her—so sweet, obedient, and thoughtful. You really ought to reconsider being with her…” “Madam Salvatore, please, you’re embarrassing me…” I said shyly. Aiden stared at me, stone-faced, saying nothing. Seeing no reaction, I clung gently to Madam Salvatore’s arm. “Madam Salvatore, if Aiden doesn’t like me, don’t force him. I don’t want it to seem like I’m pressuring him.” “What nonsense! Your engagement with Aiden was arranged by me and your mother. You two grew up together—how could he not have feelings for you?” Madam Salvatore said kindly, trying to smooth things over. But Aiden cut in. “I’m already in love with someone else.” Raelynn froze, her fork hovering in midair. “You’re in love? With who? Don’t tell me it’s Raelynn?” I asked, fishing for answers. Aiden nodded. “That’s right. It’s her.” A pang shot through my chest. I turned to Madam Salvatore, forcing a smile. “Oh… really?” “You can’t love her,” Madam Salvatore said sharply. Aiden turned, frowning in confusion. “Why not?”“I said you can’t, and that’s final. Even if you don’t like Taylor, you absolutely cannot fall for Raelynn.” Her tone was firm and commanding, full of the Luna’s authority. The whole room fell silent. Dinner was awkward and flavorless. Once we’d eaten, everyone returned to their rooms. It was too late for me to leave, so I asked Madam Salvatore if I could stay the night. She didn’t object, of course. And I had no intention of leaving. I had something to do. Something I’d been planning for a long time. Aiden’s POV Late that night, I was still reviewing documents when my mother walked in with a cup of warm milk. “Aiden, there’s something I need to tell you,” she said softly, setting the milk on my desk. I already had a feeling what it was about. “What is it?” “It’s not that I’m forbidding you from being with Raelynn, it’s just… sigh.” She let out a long sigh, her eyes distant. “Did you know your father had a first love when he was young?” “What does that have to do with Raelynn?” She glanced at me, then continued, “His first love… was Raelynn’s mother. You understand? The girl you’re in love with… might be your half-sister.”
