Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 81 Creating a Misunderstanding

I turned to him and looked him in the face. “Why not? Aiden, I want to leave Eclipse Pack. Do I need your permission?” Aiden replied coolly, “Mom’s condition is somewhat tied to you. If anything happens to her, I need to know where to find you.” “Are you questioning my skills? Or are you questioning my master?” I raised my voice. Aiden didn’t respond. He just kept looking at me. I thought for a moment and said, “Fine. I won’t leave yet. I’ll go once Madam Salvatore recovers.” Then I sat down next to her bed. Even though I had saved her with the Witchstones, if I just left like this and something happened, I wouldn’t care about my own reputation—but I couldn’t let my master’s name be tarnished. By midday, Madam Salvatore finally woke up. As soon as she opened her eyes, Taylor rushed over in a panic. “Ma'am, are you alright?” “I… I want some water…” Taylor quickly grabbed a cup and handed it over. Madam Salvatore coughed lightly. “What happened to me?” Taylor held her hand, looking deeply concerned. “You fainted. Thank goodness we found you in time, or things could’ve ended badly. Are you hungry? I’ll go get you something to eat.” Then she turned to me. “Raelynn, will you come with me?” I glanced at Aiden, then nodded. “Sure.” It was awkward sitting around anyway. Stretching my legs a little didn’t sound bad. Once we were out, Taylor bought a ton of food. I looked at the random mix of snacks and found it odd. Someone who just woke up from a medical emergency wouldn’t be able to eat any of that. What was Taylor up to now? I didn’t say anything. I just watched in silence. Right before we got back, Taylor suddenly clutched her stomach. “Ugh, my stomach hurts… I need to get some medicine.” She shoved the heavy bag of food into my hands. “Sorry, Raelynn. Could you bring these in for me?” The bag was packed and weighed a ton. But I immediately understood what she was trying to do. I kept my expression calm and nodded. “Sure.” Taylor's POV I watched Raelynn walk in carrying that big bag of food. I couldn’t help but smirk. She thought she was so clever. And yet, here she was—walking right into my little trap. I waited outside for a while. Soon, Aiden came out to take a call. I made sure to stay hidden and peeked through the door. Just as expected—Raelynn was feeding Madam Salvatore. Perfect. I pushed the door open and stepped inside. Madam Salvatore was chewing, and on the table was an open bag of snacks. “Raelynn! What are you doing?” I widened my eyes and stared at her. “Don’t you know Madam Salvatore can’t eat greasy or heavy food right now? You actually bought all this for her?” Raelynn looked at me and gave a faint smile. “It’s fine.” Madam Salvatore looked a little confused. “What’s wrong, Taylor? What about the food?” I softened my voice and tried to explain, “Please don’t be upset. I took a quick glance at what she brought—they’re really not suitable for someone recovering like you. I’m just worried about your health… Raelynn was too careless.” As I spoke, I put on a hurt expression and pointed at Raelynn, my fingers trembling slightly. Raelynn didn’t seem bothered at all. She just kept smiling. “Don’t worry. I know exactly what I’m giving her.” I frowned and stepped closer, my tone sharper. “Raelynn, you know medicine. There’s no way this was a mistake. Why would you do this on purpose?” Now that I had said it, the trap was set. She had no way to explain this one away.Raelynn looked up, her gaze calm and deep. “What if the food I gave her is actually fine?” I scoffed. “Fine? Raelynn, I looked through all that stuff. None of it’s safe for her!” I had double-checked every single thing when I bought them. There was no way any of it was suitable for a patient like Madam Salvatore. “Taylor, maybe this is all a misunderstanding…” Madam Salvatore said softly, trying to ease the tension. “Ma’am, please don’t eat anymore. I’ll get you something else,” I said quickly, stepping forward to remove the food from her tray. But when I got closer, I froze. Wait—what was that? In front of Madam Salvatore was a beautiful, perfectly portioned meal. It looked balanced, nutritious, and nothing like the junk I had picked up. The pile of snacks on the table had hidden the actual food. All I could see earlier were wrappers and plastic containers. “When did you buy this?” I asked awkwardly. Raelynn scooped another spoonful and fed Madam Salvatore before answering calmly. “While you were gone. Those snacks are mine. What’s the problem?” I was stunned. She had clearly seen through my little scheme and dodged it with ease. “Raelynn… I’m sorry. I misunderstood you.” It was the only thing I could say now. Otherwise, I’d be the one accused of trying to harm Madam Salvatore. Raelynn suddenly raised an eyebrow and stared straight at me. “Taylor, do you really think this was just a misunderstanding?”
