Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming
Seeing me return safe and sound—and that I’d actually managed to bring the plane under control—Aiden looked stunned. He stared at me intently and asked, “You didn’t get hurt?” I couldn’t help laughing. “Of course not. I’m Raelynn. There’s nothing I can’t handle.” “I really didn’t expect it. Ms. Raelynn may look young, but you’ve got talent—and guts.” As Randall spoke, there was no mistaking the admiration and amazement in his eyes. I said sincerely, “Mr. Randall, you’re impressive too. You know so much. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have figured it out, and we never could’ve saved the flight.” Aiden said coldly, “Would’ve done it just fine without him.” The way he suddenly spoke was so abrupt it caught me off guard. I realized right away—Aiden was challenging Randall. Was he… jealous? I couldn’t help but smirk inwardly, though I kept my tone even. “Mr. Randall, don’t take it personally. My friend here just has a strong personality. He tends to get a little intense.” Randall looked at the two of us and smiled without missing a beat. “I get it. Mr. Aiden probably just… gets protective of his woman. That’s where the hostility comes from.” Even a fool could tell Aiden was being possessive again. “What do you mean, ‘protective of his woman’? Mr. Randall, there’s nothing between me and him. Please don’t get the wrong idea.” I couldn’t help speaking up to set the record straight. Aiden didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he suddenly pulled me into his arms. “All right, it’s over. Sit down. We’re almost at North City.” “Why are you always so controlling…” I rolled my eyes in frustration and tried to wriggle away, but Aiden already had me pinned into the seat. Seeing this, Randall didn’t say anything else. He returned to his seat. Soon, we arrived in North City. Aiden and I disembarked, parting ways with Randall at the terminal.“That guy’s kinda interesting. Randall… I wonder what he does?” I asked as I glanced at Aiden. Aiden let out a cold laugh. “You really don’t know?” I was curious. “Why? You know him?” Aiden said in a low voice, “Three years ago, a then-unknown company called NK Corporation blew up overnight. Now it holds weight in nearly every industry. The CEO’s name is Randall.” He turned to look at me. “He’s also the successor of the Storme Pack. What, does that make him more interesting to you?” I blinked. So, he’s the heir to the Storme Pack. That explains it. No wonder his name sounded familiar. From what I knew, the Storme Pack’s successor had always kept a low profile—I didn’t expect him to be that guy. Aiden didn’t talk to me the whole way, clearly still jealous about Randall. But honestly, I didn’t mind—it gave me a break. I closed my eyes and rested on the ride over. Eventually, we reached the hotel, and to my surprise, we ran into a familiar face again in the lobby. “Mr. Randall? You’re staying at this hotel too? What a coincidence,” I walked over to greet him. Randall smiled as soon as he saw me. “So you’re staying here too? Looks like we’ll be neighbors—at least for a bit.” I grinned. “Heh. It’s an honor to share a roof with the heir to the Storme Pack.” Randall looked slightly surprised but smiled back. “Ms. Raelynn, you’re a household name by now. Hardly a nobody yourself.” Then he turned to Aiden with a sharp glint in his eye. “Eclipse Pack. Mr. Aiden. I’ve heard so much about you.” He extended a hand, waiting for Aiden to shake it. Aiden’s dark eyes locked onto Randall’s for several seconds before he finally reached out and returned the handshake. “If there’s nothing else, I’ll head to my room first,” Randall said cheerfully, completely unfazed by Aiden’s hostility. He waved and left. Once he was gone, I turned to Aiden. “You sure you don’t have any beef with Randall?” Aiden’s face was blank. “No.”“Then why do you look like he owes you a few million bucks?” Aiden looked at me, eyes unreadable, then simply said, “Go rest. We’ve got a meeting at eight tonight.” “Got it,” I replied casually. Then I suddenly remembered something and turned back to him. “Aiden, do you know what caused the plane issue earlier?” “Was it sabotage?” he asked. I was startled. “How’d you guess?” Aiden’s voice was calm and flat. “I know a bit about flight mechanics. It didn’t feel like a normal malfunction.” “Then do you think it could’ve been Zane or Lawson Corp behind it?” I racked my brain. If anyone hated both me and Aiden enough to want us dead, it could only be Zane or Lawson Corp. Aiden paused before slowly answering, “It wasn’t them.” I asked, “Why not?” “Zane just torched Eclipse Corporation. I’ve already hit back. He wouldn’t dare stir things up again so soon. As for Lawson Corp... this kind of thing is way too risky. If they were caught, they’d be looking at decades in prison. Thunder Pack wouldn’t take that kind of gamble.” I nodded. I had to admit—Aiden was sharp. Still, I couldn’t help but press on. “Then do you know who did it?” Aiden shook his head. “No. But I don’t think we were the actual targets.”
