Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 269 Finally Letting Go

After that, Randall and I went to see a movie together. I couldn’t even tell you what the film was about—didn’t watch a second of it. But I took a lot of pictures. I picked a few with good lighting and posted them to my Moments. “What should I caption it?” I asked. Randall shrugged. “No clue. Maybe something like ‘Let’s watch movies together from now on’?” I rolled my eyes. “That’s lame.” With my head down, I kept scrolling for better ideas. “What are you looking for?” he asked. I grinned. “Top viral couple caption ideas.” Randall just went quiet. Once the post was up, I sat there counting likes and comments—until my phone suddenly rang. I looked down. It was Aiden. My fingers froze. Why was he calling? He was the one who said he didn’t love me anymore. Randall raised an eyebrow and nodded encouragingly. “You wanted to see how he’d react, didn’t you?” He had a point. I hesitated, then answered the call. But it wasn’t Aiden’s voice I heard—it was sharp, sweet, and unmistakably female. Geraldine. “Don’t waste your energy, Raelyn,” she said with a sneer. “I saw your little photo dump. Oh, and you guessed right—I saw them using Aiden’s phone.” A hollow ache spread through my chest. Of course it wasn’t Aiden. “So? What exactly are you trying to say?” I asked.Geraldine let out a short, strange laugh, like a startled cat. “I’m saying, you can stop embarrassing yourself. Aiden didn’t even open your pictures. If it weren’t for me, no one would’ve seen them at all.” “And look at you—barely broken up and already clinging to another guy. Aiden’s disgusted with you. You really think he’d call to ask why you’re with someone else? Dream on.” It was harsh. But it wasn’t a lie. Then, I heard the sound of running water in the background. Before I could make sense of it, Geraldine spoke again. “Aiden, you done in there?” she called out casually. My heart clenched. His voice came through a moment later. “Almost.” And just like that, whatever was left in me completely shattered. I took a deep breath. “If that’s all, I won’t bother you anymore.” Geraldine’s voice dripped with smugness. “Good. Stop making a fool of yourself in front of us.” That did it. My irritation surged back. I curled my lips into a cold smile. “You ever wonder why Aiden and I were together for so long, but never slept together?” She sounded genuinely curious. “Why?” “Because…” I lowered my voice. “Aiden can’t perform.” Pfft— Randall, sipping his drink beside me, choked and spit it out. “You’re out of your mind!” Geraldine snapped. “Am I?” I said sweetly. “Go ahead and ask him. But be careful—he’s got a fragile ego. If he gets mad, it’s probably true. Maybe just find him some supplements or something.” She snorted. “Mind your own business.” And then she hung up. I chuckled darkly. Geraldine definitely heard me loud and clear. She’d be grilling Aiden about it soon enough.Let her have at it. He was in for a hell of a night. That petty little stunt lifted my spirits a lot more than I expected. Randall was still in disbelief. “I seriously thought Geraldine was gonna break you.” “Me? Please.” I scoffed. “I don’t lose. I only ever make other people lose.” As I spoke, I pulled out my phone and deleted all the photos I’d just posted. One by one. “So what’s next?” Randall asked. I tilted my head. “Maybe I’ll head back to the Imperial Pack early. There’s nothing left for me here anyway. Kinda want to see Wesley, too.” “He got chewed out pretty badly for hiding your whereabouts,” Randall reminded me. I doubled over with laughter. “Relax. He’s Mr. Greg’s golden child. A little scolding won’t kill him.” Randall smiled wryly. “Still, that was the first time I’ve ever seen Wesley get yelled at like that. And even then, he didn’t rat you out.” I fell silent, sobered by the thought. “So if I go back now, I’ll have to deal with that grumpy face of his every day, huh?” Randall shook his head. “Whatever. We’ve done what we came here to do. No point sticking around. Let’s head back to the Capitol.” I nodded. “Yeah. Let’s go home.”
