Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 268 Happy Breakup

By the time I got back to the hotel room, Tammy was already asleep. She mumbled something when she heard the door, then quieted down. I lay in bed the whole night, unable to sleep. The next morning, I used my hacking skills to track down Aiden’s location and went straight there. He was sitting in front of the TV, watching the news and taking notes. I walked in. “Aiden, I have something to ask you.” He didn’t say a word, but his fingers trembled slightly. “Did you know Geraldine and Andrix are still in contact?” His gaze dimmed. The look in his eyes turned cold. “I did.” “Then did you also know they slept together?” His brows twitched, and his expression grew hard to read—twisted and conflicted. “Why are you telling me this?” I stared him down. “Andrix is your brother—at least in name. And he slept with your ex. Are you seriously still planning to be with Geraldine?” Aiden looked away. “It’s none of your business.” “Aiden, tell me you’ve been pretending this whole time. Tell me there’s a reason for everything. Just say the word, and I’ll believe you.” His face turned to ice. “Raelyn, stop being unreasonable.” “Do you even love me?” I asked, locking eyes with him. He stayed silent, and the silence chilled me to the bone. “I’ll ask one more time. Just tell me the truth. Do you still love me?” His voice was hoarse and heavy. “I used to.” It felt like the ground dropped out from under me. I stepped back, biting down on my lip so hard I couldn’t feel the pain. My fingers dug into my palms, but it didn’t register. “Aiden, let’s just end it.” Turns out everyone had been right all along. I was the only fool clinging to hope—fighting to the bitter end for a love that had already died. And all I got in return was used to. My head was spinning. I felt like I might throw up. Taking a deep breath, I forced myself to calm down and walked out. Aiden didn’t follow. I stood under the sun, staring into the distance, but everything around me was a blur. That’s when Randall called. I answered on autopilot. “Raelyn, I’ve got some bad news.” I forced a smile, squinting up at the sun. “Bad news can’t be worse than what I’m going through now. I just broke up. Cheer me up a little.” “Happy breakup,” Randall said, then paused. “Wait—what? You broke up?” “Yeah. You dying to laugh at me?” “No… I just think the Aiden you liked turned out to be pretty trash.” I had no interest in discussing Aiden. I cut to the point. “So what’s the bad news?” “Mr. Greg will be arriving in Veloria in three days to personally bring you back. You know why—he wants the engagement to happen.” I didn’t hesitate. “Fine. No need to come get me. I’ll head back today.” Randall sounded amused. “You’re really something else.” “It’s called being decisive. I loved him, but now that he’s chosen to be with Geraldine, I’m done. I’m moving on.” Randall chuckled. “No rush. There’s still plenty of fun to be had in Veloria. Don’t you want to enjoy yourself a little first?” “Nope.” I shot him down instantly. “After everything Aiden’s done to you, you don’t want to get a little revenge?” Randall’s tone turned sly. “You’ve got a gorgeous guy—me—your future fiancé, ready to help you out. Wouldn’t now be the perfect time to rub it in his face?” I was going to say no, but then I remembered all the humiliation I’d swallowed these past few days. I nodded. “Alright.” A few minutes later, I arrived at the pool Randall had chosen. “Why are we here?” I asked. Randall gave me a once-over, eyes burning with amusement. “Never seen you in a swimsuit. I wanted a look.” My face burned. “What kind of crap are you spewing?” “Okay, okay, I’m kidding.” He laughed. “We need a few intimate photos. That’s the only way to really piss Aiden off.” Fine. That was a reason I could work with. So I changed into a swimsuit, posed close to Randall, and we snapped a few photos. The second we were done, I moved several feet away from him. Randall just laughed, and I posted the pictures to my Moments. Caption: "Swimming with my boyfriend—having a blast." The post exploded. Everyone from the Eclipse Pack flooded the comments: Jackson: “Finally got some taste.” Adrian: “Raelyn, what’s going on? Who’s this guy?” Adam: “Congrats.” Alex: “Told you she wouldn’t last with Aiden.” Tammy: “Ugh, that jerk doesn’t deserve you. New boyfriend is hot!” Adrian replied to Tammy: “Excuse me, who are you calling hot?!” Only Aiden… acted like he didn’t see it at all. Like he’d vanished. Randall read the comments and frowned. “Not enough. We’re not there yet.”I raised a brow. “So we keep going?”
