Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 228 Lawson Corp’s Secret

Lawson Corp? I suddenly remembered—the Thunder Pack, whose headquarters were in Capital City, was behind Lawson Corp. Taking down Stoneforge Pack this time could also bring Thunder Pack down with them. That pack had been scheming against us in secret for years; I couldn’t possibly let them off so easily. “Don’t worry, I could crush him with a flick of my fingers.” Trent glanced at Harley, giving her a reassuring look. “In the next few days, pack your things. Once your mom severs her mate bond, you both can stay at one of my villas. Don’t be polite about it.” Tears poured from Harley’s eyes. “Thank you, Trent.” To avoid suspicion, Trent and I left the Mariah estate as if nothing had happened. When I returned to the Imperial Pack, I found Aiden in his room, reading. I told him everything that had gone on that day. “You’re saying Lawson Corp evaded billions in taxes?” he asked. “That’s right. If we can prove Lawson Corp colluded with Stoneforge Pack to pull it off, then Lawson Corp is finished.” Tax evasion on that scale—billions—would be catastrophic if exposed. Not even Thunder Pack could shield Lawson Corp from the fallout. “I hadn’t thought along those lines before, but if he’s capable of tax fraud, there’s no doubt he’s involved in other filth as well.” Aiden lowered his gaze, thoughtful. “Leave this to me. I’ll dig deeper, and when the time comes, we’ll wipe them all out at once.” I nodded. With Aiden willing to handle it, there was no need to hand it over to Jackson. “By the way, Mr. Greg stopped by earlier,” Aiden added. My chest tightened. “Why?” “He asked how I was feeling. Said if I’ve recovered, I should hurry and leave Imperial Pack.” The same old excuse. I brushed it off. “Don’t worry about him. Just rest. Leave only when you’re fully healed.” Aiden’s lips curved into a faint smile. “So what you’re saying is, you want to sleep with me?” “What?” I froze.“There’s only one bed in this room. You asked me to stay; doesn’t that mean you want us to share it?” This shameless wolf… so that’s what he meant. Heat rushed to my cheeks; I didn’t even know how to respond. I forced a glare. “Then get out.” Aiden acted like he hadn’t heard me at all; he turned his head stubbornly. “Not leaving.” “Then I’ll prepare you a guest room,” I said flatly. He shook his head. “I already have a bond with your bed. It told me it can’t bear to part with me.” The corner of my mouth twitched. “Then why don’t you call it, see if it answers?” Aiden sat down on the mattress, leaned on the edge, and asked, “Would you be okay if I left?” The bed jolted three times, creaking loudly. I opened my mouth to retort, but Aiden cut in again. “And would you be okay if Raelyn slept with me?” He bounced once more, and the bed let out a groan. He spread his hands. “See? Even it says you have to sleep with me, or else it won’t be happy.” I pinched the bridge of my nose. “Aiden, are you seriously this childish?” “And besides,” he went on, lowering his voice, “if you sleep alone, there might be a ghost under your bed. It’ll crawl out while you’re asleep, and just stare at you.” I smacked him on the head. “I’m not afraid of ghosts.” He winced, rubbing the spot, looking aggrieved. “But I am. I can’t sleep alone anymore.” Unbelievable. The heir of Eclipse Pack. The CEO of Moonshadow Group. Acting like a clingy child. A headache started pounding as I pointed to the floor. “Fine. You can sleep in my room, but you’re on the floor. I get the bed.” Aiden opened his mouth to argue, but one look from me shut him up. “And if I catch you climbing onto the bed, I’ll call Freya to kick you out.” He gave in reluctantly. But when night fell, I couldn’t sleep. It was my first time sharing a room with a male wolf; nervous tension crawled under my skin. Freya, however, was ecstatic, bouncing around inside my soul. Alpha, let him in the bed. Even if he’s not your fated mate, I’d gladly mate with him; reach climax with him. You’re supposed to be the noble, dignified Wolf King. How are you even less restrained than Aiden? I tossed and turned all night without rest. Aiden, meanwhile, slept like a baby. In the morning, when I saw the dark circles under my eyes in the mirror, I could’ve strangled him. Aiden leaned against the bathroom door, watching me intently. “You look exhausted. Rough night?” I shot him a glare. “Thanks to you.” “You two, shared a room last night?” The Imperial Pack’s butler happened to pass by, stopping dead in shock at the doorway as his eyes darted between us. “It’s not what you think!” I blurted. Last night, while heading downstairs, I’d overheard Mr. Greg telling the butler to keep an eye on me and Aiden; under no circumstances were we to get too close. “I prepared a guest room for Mr. Aiden last night, so how—” The butler’s face was a mixture of confusion and disbelief. Aiden only smiled, offering no explanation. But I understood instantly. I turned to glare at him. “Aiden… there really was a guest room, wasn’t there?”
