Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 221 He Was Actually Hurt

I didn’t expect Aiden to collapse so suddenly. For a moment, I had no idea what to do. I could only hold his body up and let him lean against me. “Raelynn? What are you doing here?” I looked up to see Trent standing in front of me, his face full of surprise. “Trent, Aiden passed out with a fever!” I said anxiously. The way Aiden fainted felt too strange. I had a bad feeling about it. “Here, let me!” Trent immediately helped me get Aiden into the car. “Thank you.” “No problem. Should I take you both to the hospital?” “No,” I shook my head quickly and apologized, “You probably have your own business to handle. Don’t worry about us.” After all, this was the black market. Trent was probably here on business, and I didn’t want him tagging along. Besides, I’d feel bad delaying him. Trent looked reluctant but still nodded. “Alright. Got it.” After parting ways with Trent, I originally planned to take Aiden to the hospital, but the flushed color in his face looked strange. Instead, I brought him back to the Imperial Pack. Just as I was helping Aiden through the front door, we were stopped by Mr. Greg’s stern voice. “What are you doing?” I didn’t want a confrontation with Mr. Greg, but the situation was urgent. I explained, “Aiden has a fever and no one to care for him. I brought him back here.” Mr. Greg looked displeased. “He’s the heir to the Eclipse Pack, and yet he doesn’t even own property in Capital City. What are you doing with someone like that?” With Aiden weak and leaning on my shoulder, I had no time to argue. I just wanted to get him to a bed. “I don’t agree with him stepping foot into the Imperial Pack!” Mr. Greg shouted behind me, his words carrying a double meaning. “If you don’t accept him, then I’ll leave with him.”I knew Mr. Greg didn’t approve of Aiden, so I turned and started heading back outside. “Raelynn, what’s the meaning of this?!” Mr. Greg was so furious he was shaking. “You’re my granddaughter. Why won’t you listen to me? I’m doing this for your own good!” Seeing how much pain Aiden was in, I answered coldly, “I’ve made myself clear. If you won’t accept Aiden, then I’ll go back to Varken with him.” Mr. Greg’s tone turned grim. “And what about Wesley’s injuries?” “That’s up to you.” My words were utterly merciless. “Fine. Fine!” Mr. Greg was practically green with anger. But for Wesley’s sake, he held back and said, “You can let Aiden rest here, but once he wakes up, he has to leave the Imperial Pack.” I said coolly, “Understood. I’ll take him in now.” I brought Aiden to a room, laid him down on the bed, and carefully tucked him in. Looking at his half-lidded eyes, I stood up to prepare a warm towel to bring down his fever. But just as I was about to place it on his forehead, his hand gripped mine tightly, refusing to let go. “Aiden…” Before I could say more, he pulled me down, and I landed right on top of him. I tried to get up, but Aiden suddenly opened his eyes. They were filled with a deep tenderness. “I heard everything.” I looked up at him in shock. “I heard what you said to Mr. Greg.” Thinking back on what I’d said, my face burned. “I didn’t say anything. Just forget it.” Aiden frowned, then let out a soft chuckle. “You weren’t embarrassed when you were standing up for love.” “Aiden, you—!” Annoyed, I punched him lightly in the chest—only for him to wince in pain. “Aiden, are you hurt?”I immediately sensed something was wrong and reached to unbutton his shirt, but Aiden grabbed my wrist to stop me. “I’m fine. I was just teasing. It doesn’t hurt.” “You’re lying.” Feeling more suspicious, I pulled up his shirt anyway. What I saw was a wound—already bandaged, but still bleeding through. Aiden quickly tried to cover it with his shirt. “It’s nothing. Just a small injury. It’ll heal soon.” I snapped, “What happened? Tell me the truth.”
