Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 207 What a Two-Faced Bitch

Wesley’s POV While Raelynn was inside doing her makeup, I waited outside by myself. Out of boredom, I opened my phone and started scrolling through the news. After a while, I realized it was all the same brainless junk. “Wesley!” A crisp voice suddenly called from behind. I turned my head sharply at the sound of my name and saw a girl in white. “Wesley, what are you doing here?” I blinked, trying to place her face. She looked familiar. “And you are?” The girl froze in embarrassment. “It’s me, Trixy. Don’t you remember? We met at the bar last time…” That jogged my memory. I gave a perfunctory nod. “Right. What do you need?” I never remembered people I wasn’t close with. This Trixy something or other—probably some pack’s daughter. “I…” Trixy smiled awkwardly. “If there’s nothing important, I’m about to leave. Please, Ms. Trixy, go ahead.” I glanced at the time. Raelynn should be coming out any minute now. “I…” Trixy bit her lip, gathering her courage. “I wanted to invite you to be my date for tonight’s wine tasting. Is that okay?” That was when I finally remembered who this girl was. The heiress of the Cyclone Pack—the one who clung to me at the bar, way too forward. She’d annoyed me to no end. I’d also heard she was close friends with that Wendy chick from earlier. No wonder—Wendy must have tipped her off. “Sorry, I already have a date,” I said flatly. Trixy’s expression froze. The next second, Raelynn walked out of the makeup room. That dress hugged every curve of her figure perfectly. With her fresh makeup and hair done, she looked so good the whole world dimmed around her. Trixy stared at her, stunned. “This is my date. Sorry about that.” I couldn’t help feeling proud looking at Raelynn. She finally looked like someone worthy of being my sister. “Wesley, don’t get fooled by some random woman. She’s dressed so skanky—she’s clearly not a good girl…” Raelynn’s POV Who the hell is this bitter bitch coming at me out of nowhere? Running her mouth the second she lays eyes on me. “I’m not a proper woman? And what does that make you, throwing yourself at some guy to be his date? What kind of trashy setup is that?” I never hold back when it comes to clapping back—especially not to strangers. No benefit, no need to be polite. And now that I’ve got the Imperial Pack backing me, I might be flexing a little. But I’m no saint. Why should I let it slide? “You! I’ve known Wesley for a long time. You just showed up and started hanging around him. You have no status, no place—who the hell do you think you are talking to me like that?” I nearly laughed in her face. Are all women in Capital City this full of themselves and this dumb? “And yet I don’t see Wesley backing you up. If I’m just a fling, then you’re the stray mutt barking on the sidewalk, wagging your tail and still getting ignored.” Her face turned bright red. She stomped her foot in rage. “You just wait! I won’t let this go!” After throwing out her warning, she turned pitiful and looked at Wesley. “Wesley, did you see that? I didn’t even do anything and she just started attacking me.” And right on cue, Wesley dropped a classic line. “She’s my sister. And you’re what, exactly?” “Sister?” Trixy’s face contorted for a second. The next moment, she flashed a fake, sugary smile. “Ohhh, your sister! I’m so sorry, I thought she was…” God, I hate two-faced bitches like this. I snorted. “What now? Are you going to say, ‘Oops, my bad, I misunderstood, please forgive me, I’ll make it up to you somehow’?”Trixy was completely speechless, frozen in place. “If you like Wesley so much, go chase after him yourself. But don’t come barking at me. Or else… well, I’m a lot meaner than Wesley.” I gave her a sweet smile, then turned to Wesley. “Didn’t you say we’re going to the wine tasting?” Wesley nodded and followed after me, leaving behind that utterly humiliated two-faced bitch with her face turning all kinds of colors. … The wine tasting was being held in the backyard of a mysterious billionaire’s mansion in Capital City. Naturally, the guests were all members of the city’s elite. Wesley was basically a celebrity here. As soon as we walked in together, every guest turned to look at us. Instantly, I became the center of gossip. “I know who she is. She’s that Goldberg girl who was lost for years. Grew up in some tiny town. Not exactly high society.” “Oh really? I thought she was some rich heiress. Still, her vibe doesn’t feel cheap at all.” “Who knows if she’s just putting on an act.” I glanced at the people whispering about me, my gaze icy and sharp. They instantly clammed up, too scared to say another word. The event began quickly. Glass after glass of wine was laid out on long tables, shimmering in the light and looking beautiful. The host stepped onto the stage and made an announcement: “Whoever can accurately name each of these wines will win tonight’s grand prize.” The crowd looked around at each other, but no one moved yet.
