Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 198 I Don’t Need the Money

Sweat started to bead on Geraldine’s forehead. What I hadn’t expected, though, was just how well-liked she’d become during her time at the company. When I pressed her hard, a few colleagues actually stood up for her. “Even if Geraldine’s identity is fake, she’s been really kind. She’s helped me out so much.” “Yeah, I didn’t finish a report once, and she wrote it for me.” “My son was sick—she took over my shift without even blinking.” I almost laughed. “So just because she did you a couple favors, you're gonna ignore right and wrong and defend her? Why the hell do you think I’m the one who sabotaged the company?” The people I called out shrank back slightly. One of them muttered under their breath, “Then why don’t you show us proof? We just think she’s the kind of person who wouldn’t do something like this. But you—you're the president of Bluewater Corporation. Maybe you’re the one who infiltrated Eclipse Corporation to sabotage it and slow down competition.” Even now, after everything, they still didn’t believe it. I turned to my assistant. “Pass out the files.” She handed everyone in the room a copy of the documents we’d prepared. “These are phone records of Geraldine’s conversations with Lawson Corp. Each number links back to a high-ranking executive at Lawson.” I gave them a moment to absorb that, then continued. “Also, Geraldine paid the factory owner eight hundred thousand to deliberately ruin the perfume batch. The guy got greedy and agreed. But when I told him I’d press charges, he confessed everything. Here—his written statement, signed and fingerprinted.” Once those papers were on the table, the executives who’d defended her couldn’t deny it anymore. “Geraldine,” I said coldly, “do you realize how many times over you could be locked up for what you’ve done?” With the truth out in the open, Geraldine dropped the act. She turned tearfully to Aiden and cried out, “Sir, can’t you forgive me—just because I look like your first love?” Aiden’s brows drew together in clear disgust. “Just because you resemble her, I’m supposed to forgive you? Geraldine, you seriously overestimate yourself. I don’t have any feelings for her anymore. Didn’t Andrix tell you that?” Geraldine froze. Her voice trembled with disbelief. “No… he said you still missed her… that just seeing my face would make you soften. How could this be?” She started shaking all over, her fear finally catching up with her. Then she dropped to her knees and grabbed at my legs. “I’ll tell you everything Lawson Corp told me—just please, please don’t hand me over!” I yanked my leg away and stepped aside. I already knew all of Lawson Corp’s dirty tricks. I didn’t even care to hear her version. Honestly, sending someone as stupid as Geraldine proved they never saw her as an important pawn. She was just a disposable tool. I laughed and shook my head. “That won’t be necessary. Geraldine, you can tell all that to the cops. Maybe they’ll go easy on you.” The look on her face told me she finally realized—she was finished. She let out a wail, rolled her eyes back, and collapsed on the spot. The werewolf officers showed up quickly and carried Geraldine out of Eclipse Corporation like a bag of wet laundry. But even after she was gone, the room remained heavy with gloom. I knew what they were worried about—those ten billion in damages. If that money couldn’t be recovered, some of them were about to lose everything. I rubbed my chin thoughtfully. “So I hear Eclipse Corporation is down ten billion. Is that right?” Aiden nodded. “Yeah. Including damages and lost profit, it’s about that much.” I glanced at Jackson. He immediately understood, pulled out a check, and wrote ten billion on it. Then he handed it to Aiden. “Bluewater Corporation can handle a little ten billion. No big deal.” I wasn’t bragging. Bluewater really did have that much spare cash lying around. Ten billion was pocket change. The entire room stared, stunned by how casually I tossed out that amount. Everyone started murmuring about how powerful Bluewater must be. Even Aiden looked a little shocked.I just smiled. “What’s with the faces? Chill out. When Eclipse starts making a profit again, you can just send Bluewater a little dividend, yeah?” Aiden cleared his throat, clearly a bit uncomfortable. “Let’s treat it as a loan. I’ll repay it.” “Repay what? We’re a couple. What’s yours is mine. And what’s mine… is still mine.” I grinned, ignoring the vein twitching in his temple. “Since I’m the one with the money, isn’t it totally reasonable for me to give my boyfriend a little spending cash?” His expression finally softened. He walked over and rubbed my head. “Then I’ll transfer some Eclipse Corporation shares to you. That makes you the lady of the company.” That got a huge reaction. The executives who were still standing around were visibly shocked and murmuring excitedly. Some of them looked downright worshipful. Apparently, giving out ten billion as pocket change was the ultimate flex. “If you’re all done gawking,” Aiden said coolly, “go get back to work. Anyone still standing around gets half a month’s pay docked.” Classic Aiden—cold as ever. The room cleared out fast. I hooked my arms around his neck, laughing so hard my stomach hurt. “They’re kind of cute.” Aiden didn’t laugh. He just looked at me with a complicated expression. “So, the president of Bluewater Corporation, huh…” He let out a low chuckle, the tone laced with danger. “Alright. Now tell me—why the hell did you keep that from me?”
