Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 162 I Want You to Move Back

After the werewolf officer left, Shawn straightened his clothes, still smug and arrogant. “Ms. Beck, I’m telling you, you should’ve just given in. Now look where we are—neither of us is happy. Was it really worth it?” Then he turned to Adam and added, “And you, Adam. What do you gain by offending me? It’s not like you can take me down. I don’t think you need to shoot this drama anymore; I’ll be replacing the second male lead. Just sit back and wait to get blacklisted from the industry.” With that, he walked out of the room. Adam kept his head down, silent, his expression unreadable. I stepped closer and gently squeezed his hand. “Are you okay?” Adam lifted his head; there was a shimmer of tears in his eyes. He took a deep breath and said, “As long as you’re alright, that’s all that matters.” “Of course I’m fine. What’s important is you—don’t take what he said to heart. He’s not nearly as powerful as he thinks. Trust me, you’ll be okay.” Adam shook his head and explained, “I’m signed under Jiale Entertainment. Shawn is the older brother of the CEO of JoyPlus Media, that’s why he’s been so arrogant all this time. With things like this now, I’m definitely getting iced out. Even if I’ve brought Jiale a lot of value, offending him means I’m done.” JoyPlus Media was, admittedly, a big name. Looking at his face, I asked seriously, “Then have you thought about switching companies?” “Switching isn’t that easy. I signed a three-year contract; it’s only been two. If I try to terminate it early, I’ll owe billions in penalties.” Adam sighed. “And even if I left, what difference would it make? Jiale has too many connections. No other company would dare take me.” Just as he finished speaking, a familiar voice came from the doorway. “Are you guys okay?” Aiden walked in looking a bit disheveled—it was clear he’d dropped everything to come here. Even so, his refined air as an heir was hard to miss. “We’re fine, Aiden. Thank god you called me when you did. If not, Raelyn might’ve been ruined by that scumbag.” I blinked. Adam’s words made it clear that Aiden had called him. But how did Aiden know? Could it have been that phone call I made—the one that was answered and then abruptly cut off?If that’s really what happened, it means Aiden is incredibly sharp, and maybe he actually cares… Ugh, get a grip. That's not going to happen. “Good. I’m glad you’re safe.” I looked at Aiden’s face and suddenly got an idea. “Aiden,” I called. He didn’t say anything, just looked at me quietly; I couldn’t tell what he was thinking. “Adam just got into trouble with Shawn because of me. Things might get tough for him moving forward,” I said, locking eyes with him. “So, I want to ask you for a favor.” “What kind of favor? Say it,” he replied. I smiled. “Mr. Aiden is loaded; a few billion shouldn’t be a problem, right?” Aiden was smart; he immediately figured it out. “You want me to pay Adam’s contract termination fee?” “Isn’t that what you were thinking too, Mr. Aiden? Great minds think alike,” I said, giving him a thumbs-up. “But then what? What’s your plan?” Aiden raised an eyebrow. “You planning to let Adam be unemployed?” I shook my head slightly and said confidently, “Of course not. I have another idea. I want Adam to sign with Light Corp. You don’t have to worry about that—I’ll take care of everything. But before that, I need your help to ‘buy him out.’” “Light Corp? The one that’s churned out a ton of Best Actor and Best Actress winners?” Aiden clearly knew the company. In the entertainment world, anytime there was a major award nomination, Light Corp’s artists dominated the list and were constantly trending in the news. “I’ll agree, but only if you agree to one condition.” He looked at me, a strange excitement in his eyes. “I want you to return to Eclipse Corporation and move back in today.” As soon as he said that, Adam immediately objected. “What? Bro, you can’t do that. Raelyn’s my manager now. How can you ask her to go back to Eclipse Corporation? What am I supposed to do?” Aiden’s gaze turned cold as he looked at him. “You’re about to be out of work. Should she stay by your side and starve with you?” Adam shrank back at that; he didn’t say another word.“Today?” I asked, surprised. This man really was something—give him an inch and he’d take a mile. Not only was he ordering me around, but he even wanted to dictate the timing. “You move back today, and I’ll pay Adam’s termination fee,” Aiden said with a half-smile. “It’s still a few billion—not exactly pocket change. I can’t just throw that kind of money away for nothing.” I sighed. “Fine, I’ll move. Let me pack a few things first.” “No need,” Aiden replied calmly. “Everything’s already there.” “I should at least bring my clothes.” “No need. I’ll buy you new ones.”
