Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming
Raelyn’s POV: I stepped out of the villa, still fuming inside. A pompous brother like that? No thanks. Adam noticed I was upset and leaned in to comfort me. “Forget it. That guy’s temper is awful; we’re never going to see him again anyway.” “It’s fine, it’s not important,” I said with a nod. Then I asked, “By the way, is this your first day back on set? Did Shawn call you?” The director’s name was Shawn. Adam frowned at the mention. “Yeah, he called. He’s been nagging me since early this morning to get to the set, super annoying.” “Alright then, let’s get over there already,” I said, seeing his reluctance and giving him a little push. “Got it.” Then Adam and I hurried over to the film set. It was my first time visiting one; while I’d worked with celebrities and agents before, I’d never actually spent time on set. When we arrived, they were in the middle of filming. The moment Shawn spotted Adam, his face lit up and he exclaimed in excitement, “Finally! My dear ancestor, you’re here! We can’t shoot this scene without you; I was worried you were gonna bail!” “Shawn, don’t be dramatic,” Adam replied, exchanging a few polite words. Suddenly, Shawn noticed me standing behind Adam and gave me a strange look. “Who’s this? You look kinda familiar…” “She’s my new agent, Raelyn.” Shawn immediately extended his hand, plastering on a sycophantic smile. “Ah, Ms. Beck! What a pleasure. I’ve heard your name plenty; you’re always trending online.” I looked at Shawn’s hand. I didn’t really want to shake it, but since I was here representing Adam, I reached out anyway. Shawn grasped my hand and gave it a few pumps; then, disturbingly, he traced a finger across my palm. Disgusted, I quickly pulled my hand away. “Ms. Beck, here’s to a pleasant collaboration,” he said, his smile growing more lecherous as he stared at my face.Unable to bear the way Shawn was ogling me, I made up an excuse and went off to rest. Adam went off to film. I sat on a cool stone by the lake, zoning out, when someone suddenly approached. Before I could even see who it was, I was shoved hard into the water! My body plunged into the lake; I gasped, startled but not afraid. I was an Alpha, I could swim. But unfortunately, the shock of hitting the icy water triggered a cramp in my leg. The pain was sharp, and I couldn’t muster any strength. Struggling underwater, I couldn’t resurface and ended up swallowing several mouthfuls. This is bad, I thought, about to call Freya out—when a pair of hands reached down from above, lifting me up and pulling me toward the shore. It was Adam. He brought me back to land and, seeing I was soaked, took off his jacket and draped it over me. People from the crew gathered around. Shawn rushed over, looking anxious. “Let’s get her to the lounge and have her take a shower. Don’t want her catching a cold.” Before I could object, Adam scooped me up and carried me to the rest area. “Raelyn, I’ve got to get back to filming. You stay here and take a shower. There are plenty of clean clothes, just pick whatever you like.” He set me down on the bed and gave his instructions gently. I nodded. I’d only swallowed a bit of water—no big deal. Seeing Adam so worried actually made me feel a little embarrassed. After he left, I took a shower, changed into fresh clothes, and lay down to rest. Just in case, I quietly slid the lock on the door. After all, someone had just pushed me into the water, and I still had no clue who it was. Better to be safe. Sure enough, not long after, I heard a key turning in the lock. The next second, the door swung open. Standing there was Shawn. Just as I thought, you disgusting creep. “Shawn, can I help you with something?”Though I was unsettled, I kept a calm, casual expression. “Ms. Beck, I love that haughty attitude of yours,” he said, voice thick with desire. “Makes me wonder what you’d be like under a man.” I frowned, my voice turning cold. “Shawn, I suggest you remember who you are. If word gets out that you’re harassing women, it won’t be good for your reputation.” I knew all about this guy, he was known for his so-called integrity, hailed as a ‘breath of fresh air’ in the entertainment industry. Who would’ve guessed someone so seemingly kind and humble was such a shameless scumbag behind closed doors? “Who cares? It’s not like you’ve got any proof. Besides, this is my turf. You really think anyone’s going to stop me if I decide to do something to you?” He sneered. “Oh, and by the way, guess who arranged for you to be pushed into the lake? Didn’t see that coming, did you? If he hadn’t done that, how else would I get the chance to be alone with you…” His gaze crawled over me like something slimy. Finally, he couldn’t hold back and lunged at me. I dodged back and grabbed a vase from the side, hurling it to the floor with a loud crash. The sound of it shattering was thunderous. I’d meant it as a warning—but Shawn wasn’t fazed in the slightest. “What’s wrong? Throwing things? Careful, you might cut that soft, delicate little hand of yours…” He grinned wickedly. “I had this room soundproofed. No one outside will hear a thing…” His words made my stomach turn. Shawn was a monster; he’d clearly used this room to prey on other girls before.
