Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 145 In the Next Life, Let’s Not Meet Again

Taylor let out a sinister laugh. “How funny. Do I look like someone who's afraid to die? Adam, since you came here yourself, don’t blame me for showing no mercy.” She raised her voice and called off the two werewolves. “You two did well. Go wait in the corner. Once I deal with these two, I’ll transfer the money to you.” Hearing that the payment was coming soon, the two werewolves nodded and grinned. “Sure thing, take your time. We’ll wait over there.” Taylor turned and saw Adam still lying protectively over me. Her face darkened. She suddenly raised the dagger and stabbed it deep into Adam’s shoulder. “Ah!” The dagger, laced with wolfsbane, made Adam curl up in pain. After a few twitches, he blacked out. My heart twisted with pain. “Taylor, that’s Adam! Are you even human?!” “So what if it’s Adam? Anyone who gets in my way deserves to die. Got it?!” She yanked the dagger out of his shoulder and glared at me. “Now it’s your turn, Raelyn. Do you know how long I’ve waited for this day? I can’t wait to watch you die right in front of me!” She had just raised the dagger again when a pebble suddenly hit her wrist. She flinched, and the dagger clattered to the ground. “Who’s there?!” Taylor turned toward the entrance and saw Aiden standing there with a cold expression. “Aiden? You…” His presence, cold and powerful, made Taylor—already unhinged—start trembling the moment she saw him. “Let them go,” Aiden said icily. The two werewolves clearly recognized him. They screamed and bolted out the door. “Holy shit! That’s Aiden from the Midnight Pack! Run!” I let out a breath of relief. Aiden had made it in time. Taylor gritted her teeth and lunged to grab the fallen dagger. She pressed it against my chest again. “Why should I let go?! I’m not just going to let them go—I’m taking all of us down with me!” “Taylor, that’s enough!” I’d never heard Aiden this angry before. His words stunned Taylor into silence. “I’ve told you a thousand times—being nice to you as a kid was just because you were living in my house. I was young. I had to be polite so I wouldn’t disappoint Uncle Fang.” “I never liked you. Not once. I only ever saw you as a little sister. I never, ever thought about marrying you.” “If you had any decency as a woman, you’d have let go long ago. Maybe then we could’ve stayed friends.” “If you kill Raelyn, I swear I’ll make sure the Midnight Pack never lets it go. You think dying is a way out? I’ll make sure you can’t live or die in peace.” Aiden’s words were heavy and sharp. I could feel Taylor trembling behind me. Taylor’s POV I understood everything he said. But from the way Aiden looked at Raelyn, I could see clearly—his heart only had room for her. I always knew he saw me as a sister. But Aiden was perfect. In my heart, he was a flawless statue I just wanted to keep close to me. Then Raelyn appeared out of nowhere months ago and ruined everything. Panicked, I tried everything I could to keep them apart. Only now did I understand. All my efforts had only led me to a dead end. I dragged the Shadow Pack down, disgusted Aiden and the entire Midnight Pack. And I gained nothing. I didn’t hurt Raelyn. I only destroyed myself. Lost in guilt and regret, I froze. I watched as Aiden lunged at me and snatched the dagger from my hands. His face, right in front of mine, made me instinctively try to smile at him. He stared back coldly and kicked me hard, sending me rolling several feet away until I collapsed, coughing blood. “Aiden… you…” “Taylor, you’ve gone too far.” I lay there on the ground, watching Aiden hold Raelyn tightly and make a phone call. Ten seconds later, a team of fully armed werewolves burst in. The two stupid werewolves who had run off were dragged back in, tied up, and thrown to the floor. Aiden helped Raelyn stand and looked down at me. “The police are on their way. You better start thinking about your statement. This time, you’re not escaping prison.” I smiled bitterly, blood dripping from my lips. “Aiden… not even a little? You never liked me, not even once?” Aiden held Raelyn in his arms and glanced at me coldly. “Not once.” He turned and walked away without looking back. I stared after him, overwhelmed with despair. Fine. I get it. I wiped the blood from my mouth and stood up. I looked around. Besides the love he had just crushed beneath his feet, I had nothing left. My father. My pack. Everything. I took two steps forward and laughed uncontrollably. “Ha… hahahahaha… pathetic. You’re pathetic, Taylor.” The guards surrounded me. My foot bumped into something. I looked down. It was the wolfsbane-coated dagger. I bent over and picked it up.The blade reflected my beautiful, broken face. I smiled at it. So be it. Then, I stabbed the dagger straight into my heart. Blood gushed out. But I felt no pain. In this life, loving Aiden—I don’t regret it. But in the next life, let’s not meet again.
