Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 139 Yet Another Pretentious Slut

Raelyn's POV I woke up from unconsciousness. As soon as I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was Yvonne, smiling at me. "Why are you here?" I asked, a little puzzled. Yvonne smiled sweetly. "Raelyn, I came with Mr. Aiden. You had a fever, so we brought you to the hospital together." She came with Aiden? Aiden brought me to the hospital… and brought her along? A strange discomfort crept up inside me. "Well, thank you both," I said lightly. Yvonne grinned brightly. "Don’t mention it, Raelyn. You’re a key member of the company. Of course Mr. Aiden would be worried if you got sick." Her words, which on the surface sounded like compliments, felt oddly familiar. Why did they remind me so much of that pretentious slut Taylor? I immediately became guarded. "Since Ms. Yvonne is so concerned about the company’s performance, why don’t you head back to work early? You might get the chance to impress Aiden." I didn’t bother sugarcoating it. Yvonne giggled softly. "I only came so I wouldn’t leave the two of you alone together, Raelyn." "Oh? And why is that?" I raised an eyebrow. "I’ll be honest with you—I’m here for Mr. Aiden. I’m pretty, I’ve got degrees, and my home pack’s company is one of the top textile giants around. If it weren’t for Mr. Aiden, do you think I’d be working as a low-level employee here?" Another Aiden fangirl. I couldn’t help rubbing my forehead. Aiden sure attracted a lot of rotten admirers. "You and Mr. Aiden haven’t exactly been getting along lately. Honestly, I think his feelings for you were probably just a passing phase. Maybe he actually prefers someone like me."That caught me off guard. Yvonne usually acted all sweet and harmless, like some innocent bunny. I never imagined she could say something so shameless. Definitely another Taylor type—but compared to that pretentious slut, this one had even sharper claws. Footsteps echoed from the hallway. Yvonne immediately dropped the act and adopted a pitiful expression. "Raelyn, if you don’t like me, I can leave. Please don’t get upset. I’d hate for you to get worse." Aiden stopped at the door just then. Yvonne smiled faintly and spoke up, loud enough for him to hear. "Raelyn, I know you’ve always disliked me, but I just wanted to help take care of you. I didn’t mean anything by it." Bravo. I should give this second-rate pretentious slut a round of applause. Her tricks were even slicker than Taylor’s. Aiden walked in, frowning. "What’s going on?" Yvonne lowered her head, wiped at nonexistent tears, and stood up in a fluster. "It’s nothing. Nothing at all." "Did Raelyn give you a hard time?" Aiden asked with hesitation. I let out a cold laugh. "Oh please. Like I’d dare bully your precious newbie. She’s got quite the talent for twisting the truth." Aiden frowned, turning to me. "Raelyn, she’s just a newcomer. There’s no need to speak to her like that." "I say I didn’t do anything. Do you believe me?" I looked him straight in the eye. He was silent for a long time, then finally said, "Got it." Typical Aiden—always blind to the true colors of these pretentious sluts like Taylor and Yvonne. A wave of disappointment surged through me. I said coldly, "If there’s nothing else, please leave. I’d like to rest alone." Yvonne began to sob right on cue, making the air even heavier. Aiden sighed and said, "Yvonne, come with me."Hearing that just irritated me further. I shut my eyes and turned to face the wall. Once they were gone, I got up and slammed the door shut. "Freya, why did I faint?" I called out to her. Alpha, we were drugged. Someone in the company is trying to hurt you, Freya sniffed from deep within my soul. I frowned. Someone in the company? Was it Yvonne? But she had just started—would she really hate me that much already? I glanced at the doctor’s report and saw it claimed I fainted from exhaustion due to my period. Please. I’m an Alpha. You think I’d pass out from something that minor? This doctor was suspicious too. I immediately called Jackson and told him to investigate the doctor. Then I hacked into Midnight Pack’s internal system. The results came back fast. It was Taylor. She had bribed a company security guard, snuck in, and slipped drugs into my coffee. I’d been too distracted lately to notice—and ended up drinking it without a second thought. The hospital surveillance footage Jackson sent me was even more shocking. Taylor had come into my hospital room after I was admitted, but she hadn’t stayed long because Yvonne showed up soon after. So Taylor was planning something. But it looked like Yvonne wasn’t working with her. Last time, Madam Regina let Taylor go. I knew she wouldn’t give up so easily. I just didn’t expect her to act again so soon. I originally planned to tell Aiden about all of this, but then I found out he had handed my projects over to Yvonne. That pissed me off. I gritted my teeth and gave up on the idea.Aiden… always falling for these white-lotus types. So we’ve been cold for a few days and now he’s already cutting me out to prop up Yvonne? Fine. If he wants to go all in, then so will I. I decided not to go back to the company. I’d just stay here in the hospital and rest. Out of sight, out of mind.
