Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 135 Hook, Line, and Sinker

I curled my lips and stared at him. "Mr. Gary, now that’s not right. We discovered the gold mine, and technically speaking, the land is already ours. With the mine underneath, the value should at least double, don’t you think?" "Why should it?" Mr. Gary gasped, his face growing darker. I tilted my head and smiled. "Mr. Gary, you’ve been in business for decades. Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten how the rules work?" "Ms. Raelyn, I do admire you, but I don’t get what you’re saying here. That land used to be ours. We’re just buying it back. How is it suddenly yours?" I leaned back in my chair and looked over at Aiden. "Mr. Aiden, maybe we should just forget it." Aiden immediately followed my lead. "I agree. Since Mr. Gary doesn’t seem interested in a sincere partnership, let’s not waste time negotiating." As soon as he said that, Aiden started to stand up. Mr. Gary quickly got to his feet and pleaded, "Mr. Aiden, we can work something out. You guys spent five billion when you bought the land from Midnight Pack, right? How about this—I’ll give you ten billion. You sell me that land. What do you say?" Perfect. The greedy pig finally took the bait. I shook my head slowly and said coyly, "Only ten billion? That land is worth way more than that." "Ten billion is already a lot! What if you’re lying to me? Then I’ll be losing a fortune..." Mr. Gary looked troubled. He stared at me and cautiously probed. "Lying? Hah. If Mr. Gary thinks we’re being dishonest, then maybe this deal just isn’t meant to be." I stood up as well. "Wait, wait, wait! I’ll pay, okay? Geez..." Mr. Gary finally gave in to the temptation of gold, gritting his teeth and agreeing to buy the land back for fifteen billion. "Then let’s sign the contract now and finalize the deal." The moment I said that, Mr. Gary became guarded. "Hold on, Ms. Raelyn. Didn’t we say we’d finish business first and then talk about our personal matters? If you came here tonight for me, then why not just be with me? Forget fifteen billion—even twenty-five or thirty billion, I can pay." I froze for a second. "Mr. Gary, you sure talk big. Are you serious?"Looking at his bloated, greasy face, I felt nothing but disgust. But to bait him into signing, I had to plaster a sweet smile across my face. "Of course I’m serious! Come on, sweetheart, let’s get cozy..." Mr. Gary lunged to grab my hand, but Aiden shoved him back hard. "Mr. Aiden, what’s your problem?" Mr. Gary looked irritated. He had just opened his mouth when suddenly his head wobbled and he collapsed to the floor. I spat. "Ugh, finally. He passed out. That was disgusting." Thank goodness for Master Tempest’s secret knockout powder—completely undetectable and very effective against fat pigs like Mr. Gary. Aiden stepped up and kicked him hard. "This bastard’s got some nerve. Shows up without a single bodyguard, all alone." I chuckled. "Alright, let’s move on to the next step. Let’s get him into a hotel room, and then..." Aiden nodded and pulled out his phone. Soon, a few werewolf bodyguards walked in, lifted Mr. Gary, and carried him out. Our plan was simple. If Mr. Gary refused to sign the contract on the spot, we’d drug him unconscious, dump him in a hotel room, then bring in a sexy female werewolf to lie on top of him. Of course, someone would also be there to "document the moment" with a camera. Come morning, he’d wake up to a chaotic mess in the room, instantly realizing he’d been set up. And just as he stumbled out in a panic, a second team would be waiting to snap more photos of his disheveled face. By then, he’d have no choice but to call us and beg. After everything was arranged, Aiden and I rested in another hotel room. By morning, Aiden came knocking, letting me know that Mr. Gary had indeed taken the bait and was now being photographed. I said, "Perfect," then waited a bit before calling his room. After a few rings, Mr. Gary’s voice came through. I smiled sweetly. "Mr. Gary, did you sleep well?"The moment he heard my voice, Mr. Gary exploded with rage. "Raelyn, what the hell are you playing at?! You tricked me! Fine! I don’t want that land anymore—give it to whoever you want! Lawson Corp is cutting ties with Midnight Pack completely!" "No need to be so quick to decide, Mr. Gary. Shouldn’t we talk about your fated mate, Mrs. Lin?" Mr. Gary immediately froze. "What did you say?" "I heard your mate has quite the temper—and she’s extremely jealous. If she ever found out you were sneaking around with another woman, who knows what she might do?" I had done my homework. Mr. Gary might act powerful on the surface, but in private, he was terrified of his wife. He’d only avoided trouble so far by being incredibly discreet. His mate, after all, was the only daughter of another pack, famous for her fiery temper. One wrong word and she’d show her claws. Mr. Gary, flabby and frail, was absolutely terrified of her. "You!" Mr. Gary finally realized he’d been played. "I know you must be upset right now. But you should’ve thought of this when you tried to scam Midnight Pack. Revenge was inevitable." After a few seconds of silence, Mr. Gary growled, "Fine. I’ll sign!"
