Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming
Andrix's POV I was on duty today, and as I passed by the testing lab, I happened to catch a glimpse of Raelynn. She was gripping a small bag tightly in her hand, looking cautious and secretive—it piqued my curiosity. Because of how she’s been treating me lately, I didn’t approach her. I waited until she left before stepping into the lab myself. “What was that woman here for?” I asked casually, pretending I didn’t care as I walked in. The doctor on duty stiffened the moment he saw me. “Director Wen, that girl came in just now to do a DNA test.” “What kind of test?” I asked. The doctor handed me the sample bag with a polite smile. “This one right here…” I took it and examined the contents. Inside were two strands of hair—one long, one short. A bold idea suddenly struck me. I turned to the doctor and said, “Bring me this month’s reports. I want to have a look.” The doctor nodded and turned to look for the file. While he was distracted, I quickly removed the long strand of hair from the bag and replaced it with one of my own. Once I finished, I stood up and said, “It’s fine. Take your time finding it. I have something to do right now—send it to my office later.” “Understood.” I walked out of the room and casually tossed the long hair into the trash. Raelynn, when that report comes out… let’s see what kind of show you put on. Raelynn's POV After dropping off the DNA samples at the hospital, I was heading back to the company when I spotted a female werewolf on the roadside—someone who looked both familiar and unfamiliar. She was sitting on the ground, clutching her ankle, brows furrowed in pain. It looked like she’d gotten hurt. I walked over to check and realized—it was the same werewolf who had given me the flower that time.“Are you okay?” I squatted down and examined her injury. Her ankle was twisted. “The hospital’s nearby. Why don’t I help you get there?” The lady was clearly in a lot of pain and couldn’t refuse, so she nodded. I helped her up, and as we got close, a silver pendant around her neck caught my eye. It looked incredibly familiar… When I was twelve or thirteen, every day after school I’d see my father fiddling with a silver pendant. His had a hollow heart design, but this lady’s was solid. When my father passed away, the pendant had been buried with him. So many years had gone by—how could that pendant show up here, around her neck? “Can I ask you something?” I asked cautiously. The lady nodded. “Sure, sweetheart. Go ahead.” “I was wondering where your pendant came from. It looks really familiar. My father used to have one too, though it was a little different from yours…” The woman froze. “Huh?” “I mean, your pendant kind of looks like my dad’s.” “And where is your father now?” she asked. I lowered my head. “He… passed away.” Her hand began to tremble, and a tear slid silently down her cheek. “What’s wrong? Why are you crying all of a sudden?” I was startled by the strange shift in her emotions. “Huh? Oh, it’s nothing. My ankle just hurts a bit. It stings, that’s all.” She gave a weak smile and turned away. “I feel like I’ve seen you many times before. Ever since the day you gave me that flower, you’ve always been a little mysterious. Since we’ve run into each other again today, why don’t you tell me your name?”I smiled at her. “I… my last name is Goodman.” “You’re not comfortable telling me your full name? That’s okay. I’ll just call you Madam Goodman from now on.” Madam Goodman nodded and said nothing more. After taking her to the hospital, I gave her a few parting instructions and left. Freya, ever alert, told me that Madam Goodman had watched me all the way until I walked out the door. When I got back to the office, I barely sat down before I was called into the main office again. “Raelynn, I’ve got a new assignment for you.” Aiden turned around, placed a file on the desk, and pushed it toward me. “We’re planning a ‘Angel and Demon’ themed friendship bracelet line. But so far we haven’t found the right spokesperson. So I was thinking… what if you do it?” My eyes widened. “Why me again? Aiden, I’m the design director, not a celebrity. Why can’t you hire a real actress to endorse it?” Aiden gave me what he considered a reasonable answer. “Because that way, the company saves a huge chunk of money.” I let out a bitter laugh. The Eclipse Pack was loaded with money. Pretending to be frugal about an endorsement fee was just laughable. “Aiden, are you just trying to mess with me?” He didn’t deny it. “Of course not. I’m doing what’s best for the company.” I sighed. “Shouldn’t a friendship bracelet campaign involve two people, though?” “Don’t worry. I’ll find someone suitable to pair with you.”
