From Betrayal to Brilliance: She Rose Stronger Than Ever
Zaden frowned. "Yeah, it's really loud." When Athena heard him, she thought he was about to get up and go over to Maya's place. But instead, he pulled out his phone and dialed a number. "Hello, I'd like to report a noise complaint. "Yes, the address is ... " Listening to him, Athena suddenly realized he was actually calling the police. Zaden was reporting Maya for disturbing the peace? That was hilarious. A moment later, Zaden hung up. He looked at Athena and said, "It's handled. They said they'll be here soon." Athena wanted to say something but ended up just smiling. "Thanks, Mr. Storm, for putting justice above family." "Hold on. What do you mean, 'putting justice above family'? You'd have to be family for that to count. I have nothing to do with Maya anymore. If she's bothering us, of course I'll handle it." "Alright, alright, Mr. Storm, you're the wise one," Athena said with a playful grin. Zaden nodded, pleased with her answer. Just then, the piano sounds from next door stopped. Maya must've been dealt with. Athena couldn't help the small smile that appeared on her face—there was no way she was letting Maya off that easily. If Maya wanted to disturb the neighborhood, Athena was definitely going to make sure everyone knew about it. Zaden stood up and walked over to her.He looked at her softly and said, "Athena, I took care of Maya for you. So, are you coming back to our room tonight ... " Before he could finish, Athena cut him off. "Teri's looking for me. I'm heading back to my room." With that, she turned and left without a hint of hesitation. Zaden watched her walk away and sighed. Even though they were technically Mr. and Mrs. Storm now, Athena still hadn't fully opened her heart to him. She always kept a little distance, never quite letting him in. He wondered when she'd finally accept him completely. Athena went back to Teri's room. The little one was already asleep. She tucked the blanket around her and sat by the bed. Teri's eyebrows were still furrowed as she mumbled in her sleep, "The piano lady's so loud ... " Athena shook her head with a helpless smile and gently stroked Teri's hair. Clearly, Maya's piano had really gotten to her. She was still upset even in her dreams. But it was over now. Zaden had taken care of it. Athena took out her phone, logged into her social account, and made a post about the noisy neighbor. The comments came pouring in right away. Some asked what her neighbor had done. Others shared their own stories about dealing with noisy neighbors and offered advice. A few were surprised—wasn't she living in a villa? How could someone in such a nice neighborhood make so much noise?Athena replied to a few of them, explaining that yes, it was a nice area, but you never knew when you'd run into someone with no manners. While the discussion heated up, an account suddenly popped in and dropped a bombshell revealing that the noisy neighbor was Maya. Apparently, she'd been playing piano next door all day. Athena checked the account, curious. It had a cartoon avatar and no posts except one photo of a meal. But she recognized the table in that picture—it was the one at Professor Kate's house. That account belonged to Harriet. Athena stepped into the hallway and called her. Harriet picked up quickly. "Hey, what's up?" "Was that you who spilled the beans just now?" Athena asked directly. Harriet's tone brightened instantly. "Of course! You said someone was making noise, right? I figured it had to be Maya. I called Zaden to check, and he confirmed it! "I couldn't keep something like that to myself! Everyone needed to know Maya's the kind of woman who throws herself at people who don't even care. It's ridiculous! She played piano all afternoon—does she really think that'll make Zaden take her back?" Athena rubbed her temples, amused. Well, Harriet had done her a favor after all. She laughed softly. "Maybe that's exactly what she thought." "Then she totally failed," Harriet said gleefully. "And since she made such a fool of herself, I'm going to help spread the story and make sure everyone knows about it!"
