The Rise of the Rejected Luna
Na-ri walked into the opulent VIP room, her heels echoing with every step on the polished floor. As she entered, her gaze was immediately drawn to the young man sitting in front of a set table, bathed in a warm glow. He was the only one in the VIP room. And although she's never seen him before, she knew instantly he was the one she was there for. He had a crystal wine glass in his hand and didn't turn to look at her as she approached him. She got to the table and took a seat. "Hi." She greeted with a sigh, dropping her bag on the table. The man in front of her was handsome - she'll give that to him. But she was more concerned about why he arranged this meeting and how the hell he knows her. "Welcome, Na-ri." He wore a wintry smile, dropping his glass on the table. "I'm glad you made it.""Yeah." Na-ri crossed her arms. "I'm very curious, tho. So, I'd want us to go straight to the point. Why did you send for me? Who are you? And what discussion did you want us to have about Nikolai and Adira?" "Patience, do you have some to spare?" He chuckled. "At least, let me be gentle enough to get you some refreshments." He clicked on a button on the table, and in no time, a waiter came up. Na-ri placed her order and silence ensued until minutes when her order was served. "Okay. So, I'm Jared." He inclined towards the table. "Jared?" Na-ri's eyes widened in surprise. "Oh. I've heard a thing or two about you." Quick questions ran through her mind. What did Jared want with her, and why does he have something to do with Adira and Nikolai? "Glad you have. I've been trying to get reach you for some days now, and I'm thankful I finally have. So, I called you over because...I believe we share similar interests."Na-ri watched him keenly. She still couldn't comprehend what he was saying. "I'm talking about Adira and Nikolai. I'm aware you're Nikolai's fiancee, but from the look of things, he might have a hard time leaving Adira, don't you think?" The truth in his words hurt Na-ri, but she was still confused. What's his part in all of this? "The thing is, I like Adira as well, and want her for myself. But since they seem entangled lately, I was thinking working together would be the best plan." Realization dawned on Na-ri at once. Her eyes grew even wider. "Hold on, you like Adira?!" She expressed shock. Jared said nothing, and she took his silence for a yes. "Goodness. That bitch keeps getting the nice guys." She scoffed and muttered under her breath. "Why do you like her, anyway? What's so special about her?" Jared reclined in his seat. "Would you prefer we sit here and talk about my history with Adira, or you'd prefer we get to work at once?" Na-ri rolled her eyes. "You're right, anyway. I do love Nikolai and want him away from that bitch. So, I guess I'm ready to do just anything. It doesn't matter if she ends up with the president, as long as she's away from my man." Jared smiled, but this time around, it was cold. "Let's get one thing straight, Miss Na-ri. Adira's not a bitch. So, don't ever call her one in my presence." His countenance prickled Na-ri's skin. She had to force herself not to give another eye roll. It's crazy that such a cute dude was head over heels for that woman. She's definitely something else. "Fine." She sighed. "Let's get down to business, then."If we really want to get those two separated, then we need to act fast 'cause it's getting crazier. Speaking as a lady who has known Nikolai for years, there's only one quick way to hurt him and make him dislike his woman so much. Nikolai has just one weakness - he's possessive and very jealous. I'm sure you listened to the recording. I don't support whoever put it out there, but none of it was a lie. Nikolai is crazily obsessed and can run mad at the thought of being cheated on. So, if you ask me, I'd say that's the only way we can make this work." Silence ensued for a while as Jared thought about it. Her rolled his thumb on his lower lip, cogitating. "So... you're trying to say the surest way to get Nikolai to hate Adira is for her to cheat?" He asked calmly, his eyes staring into space. "Exactly. That's his greatest weakness." ****†****†****†****† Nikolai and Adira eventually has to return hon two days later as Mr. Thatcher kept calling and pleading for Nikolai's presence. The old man had very few days left, and Nikolai didn't want to disrespect his last wish. Moreover, spending over a week with Adira really helped to calm him down a lot. So, he was a lot better. As soon as they arrived home, Mrs Bellamy rushed over and pulled him into a tight hug. The woman's eyes were swollen and she looked disheveled. No doubt, she's been worrying and blaming herself to death for the past one week. "I'm so sorry, Nik." Her voice was a little shaky. "I'm so sorry you had to go through this because of me. It's all my fault." Another tear slipped her eye. Nikolai was tempted to hold her, but he wasn't so used to touching people yet - just Adira. "It's fine, mum..." "No, it's not!" She sobbed. "The only reason that man keeps hunting you is because of me. I'm so sorry, sorry I did this to you." Mr. Vincent was in the room as well, and he went closer and pulled Bellamy away from Nikolai, patting her back."Stop putting this much blame on yourself, we've talked about this. I've been speaking with the authorities, and soon, we'll have something to pin on Jagger to get him arrested." He assured her. Bellamy kept weeping, and after a while, Nikolai and Adira proceeded to greet Mr. Thatcher in his room before heading to their own room. The moment they got into the room, Adira rushed into the bathroom like she was pressed. Even Nikolai rose a brow about it. But the moment she was in, she hunched over the washbasin, emptying the content of her stomach with a violent retch. She tried as much as possible not to grunt or be loud enough for Nikolai to hear. By the time she was done, she was panting heavily. She turned on the tap, cleaned the basin and washed her face afterward. Then, she sagged against the wall and took in deep nervous breaths. Her hand fretfully went up to her tummy, and her heart gave a loud thud. Fear enveloped her as the thought circled her mind. Could it be what she was thinking? Could there be a baby? The thought of it alone made her heart drum heavily. She wasn't ready for a baby. Hell, no. She wasn't. Of course, having babies wasn't a bad idea, but the situation she was in didn't warrant having a baby. Despite how scared she was, she knew she needed to confirm if it was true. The truth might hurt her...or not. Still, she needed to know. So, she concluded on carrying out a pregnancy test. ****†****†****†***** Jared watched calmly as Lancelot came out of his car and began walking towards him. The young man looked frustrated - frustrated enough to work for him. After his meeting with Na-ri, he made some research on Lancelot and got to know how messed up his family was because of Adira. According to his source, he's been away from his wife for some days now. No doubt, Adira made him develop so much hatred for her. Jared wasn't completely happy about the fact that he might hurt Adira a little, but it was for the best. He needed that lady for himself. And after now, he was going to make sure she never gets hurt again.
