Shining Through the Chaos with My Bulldog

Chapter 602 A Perfect Match

This meat... This meat... After staring at it for several seconds, she suddenly bent over and began vomiting violently. Soon, Guinevere beside her, who had been frozen in shock, snapped out of it and started vomiting too, tears streaming down her face. The innkeeper across from them nearly got splattered by their vomit and quickly stood up, backing away several steps before looking at the dining table they'd ruined with disgust. "Hey! What are you doing? "That's disgusting! Can't you all eat in peace?" Natalie also backed away silently with the three little ones. Though the two girls looked pitiful at the moment, that didn't stop her from being disgusted by their vomit. Natalie kept her gaze on the innkeeper couple, trying to find a trace of guilt or any other expression on their faces. But their expressions remained normal. Apart from disgust and surprise, there were no other emotions. The innkeeper's wife even frowned and said, "I'm so sorry! I didn't notice there was something in the meat when I was cooking." The innkeeper's tone carried a hint of complaint. "Even if you found something in the food, you didn't have to throw up like this, did you? What a waste of food!" His face was full of distress. "This meat cost me a lot of grain to buy!" While speaking, he tried to salvage the food on the table. "Hey, stop vomiting on the table! Have you lost your minds? I'm not even full yet!"Natalie watched the couple and smirked. "Are you really clueless, or just pretending?" The innkeeper's wife looked up at her. "What?" Natalie gestured toward the ring with her chin. "That ring should belong to their friend." She paused, then emphasized, "The one who went missing." The innkeeper's wife looked shocked. "You mean this meat..." Natalie rolled her eyes. Keep acting. Go ahead and keep acting. The two girls vomited violently for a while. By the end, there was nothing left in their stomachs. They couldn't even bring up bile anymore. Guinevere was in complete shock, muttering repeatedly. "Anthony's ring... this is Anthony's ring... "I ate Anthony... I ate Anthony... "No, no, no, I ate Anthony..." Just then, Selina suddenly threw the ring in her hand onto the table, turned around, and ran upstairs like a madwoman. "No way! This isn't Anthony! It can't be!" Her footsteps pattered away, then came rushing back. Natalie watched as she clutched another ring in her hand and rushed straight to the dining table. "This definitely isn't Anthony's ring. It just looks similar, that's all! "Coincidence! It's all a coincidence!"Anthony's ring fits with mine. This one won't!" While speaking, she held both rings together, trying to match them up. Back in college, Selina and Anthony had custom-made a pair of couple rings. One had a raised heart shape, while the other had an indented heart shape. When the two rings were put together, the raised and indented parts fit together perfectly. The couple had each worn one of these rings for years without taking them off. It wasn't until Anthony went missing that Selina sadly removed her ring. Now, as she tried to match the two rings together, her entire body trembled with tension. Soon, Guinevere beside her let out a scream. "Oh my God! It really is, Anthony! This meat is from Anthony!" Looking at the two rings that fit together seamlessly, Selina instantly lost all strength and collapsed to the floor. The innkeeper and his wife across the table exchanged glances. Natalie, not far away, studied the shock and disbelief on their faces. Those expressions didn't look fake. What were they shocked about? Could this couple really not know this meat came from Anthony? Weren't they the ones who put this meat on the table? Natalie was tired of guessing and simply pulled out her handgun again from inside her jacket, aiming it at the couple. "Talk. What's going on?" The two jumped in fright and immediately raised their hands. "This has nothing to do with us!"Natalie sneered. "Nothing to do with you? The innkeeper brought back the meat, and then you cooked it. How could it have nothing to do with you?" The innkeeper's wife looked aggrieved. "I really don't know what happened! I just cooked the meat normally. At most, I was a bit careless and didn't notice there was something in it." The innkeeper also said, "I really just bought this meat this afternoon! How was I supposed to know it would be..." At this point, he glanced at Selina and Guinevere, who were both mentally shattered. "This has nothing to do with me!" Natalie demanded, "Where did you buy it?" The innkeeper raised his hands and complied readily. "The Greendale Gang!" "All of us survivors in Greendale have to buy everything from the Greendale Gang at their inflated prices!" The Greendale Gang? Natalie pointed the gun at his head. "Where is this Greendale Gang?"
