Shining Through the Chaos with My Bulldog
All three of them walked in like they owned the place, looking really impressive at first. If you didn't know how they acted alone—clingy, naughty, chewing on things, and farting—you might actually believe it. Even though Natalie didn't really understand what had just happened, she let out a quiet sigh of relief. The three little ones looked healthy and safe. Lucky kept her face calm, but inside, she was furious. Annoying! That stupid Cash had ruined my grand entrance again! That scheming rooster always ran ahead, stealing all the attention. She should have been the first to appear before Natalie, giving her a surprise. But Cash had wings and ruined it! Behind the three little ones, the Grayhound Sect members stepped back quickly, letting the three mutated beasts take over the scene. Everyone knew just how powerful those three were. They were strong, fierce, and born to fight. Now, it was their turn to take the hits and buy time for the others to retreat safely. Philbert stared at Lucky with bright, eager eyes. She looked like a tiger, strong like a lion, and charged forward with full power. Even the solid steel gate couldn't stop her. She smashed through it in a flash. Jacob, who had been slumped near the gate, rolled in panic and scrambled away as fast as he could. Wasn't that the big white dog that attacked me before? Why was it here again? He even remembered Rosalie saying this dog belonged to Natalie ... What the heck? How did it suddenly become the enemy?! Jacob didn't dare breathe loudly, scared the beast might finish off Natalie and her man, then turn on him next.Curling into a tight ball, he tried to make himself invisible. Seeing Lucky charge forward, a few Grayhound Sect members at the front cheered, "Go!" The people in Villa 1 were so scared they forgot to fire their guns. The giant dog lunged straight for the woman in the middle, Natalie. The Grayhound Sect members got all excited. "Good dog! Go for the boss first!" But at the next moment, Lucky stopped. Instead of tearing the woman apart like they expected, she leaned in gently and rubbed against her like a sweet puppy. She even stuck out her tongue and licked the woman's face, her tail wagging nonstop. Every move she made showed pure love and happiness. The Grayhound Sect members just stared in shock. She had never treated them that way. The beast had suddenly turned into a big, cuddly dog. And it wasn't just her. The rabbit dropped his tough-guy act and snuggled up to Natalie, too. The colorful rooster fluttered around between Natalie and Cassian, trying to please them both. Even the slowest one could figure it out now. Philbert's face darkened. "These three animals belong to them." It made sense—no way three random beasts just showed up at their base for no reason. Thinking back, they must've followed Mark from the villa district and tracked them here. Realizing how bad the situation was, the Grayhound Sect members scattered in all directions, running for their lives.By then, Lisa was already gone. She didn't even see the dramatic moment when Lucky found her hooman again. The moment she shouted "Release the battle pets," Lisa had already dashed into the thick fog. She knew the truth. No matter how strong those animals were, they were still flesh and blood. Bullets could still hurt them. Those three had eaten plenty of her food and treats—they owed her a little help. So after calling them out, she slipped into the crowd and used the chaos to escape. The other guys weren't as lucky. To make sure she could escape safely, Lisa didn't tell them to retreat. She slipped away alone. The others stayed behind to watch for too long and ended up as Natalie's targets, giving her extra time to get out. Seeing that the three little ones were safe, Natalie finally relaxed. She lifted her assault rifle and fired at the enemy. Inside the house, Olivia, Ghania, and Roderick noticed the three little ones had returned. With no more hostages in the enemy's hands, they rushed out without hesitation. Rat-tat-tat-tat! Da-da-da-da-da! All six of them charged after the Grayhound Sect, guns blazing, cutting down everyone in sight. The same sect members who used to swagger around town—robbing, smashing, and terrorizing people—were now falling one by one. Those who had been standing proudly at the front just moments ago were now running scared and got hit first, their bodies torn apart. Even the ones who'd managed to run ahead into the thick fog couldn't escape the storm of bullets. Natalie's team had too much firepower—men were falling left and right, wounded or dead.
