Shining Through the Chaos with My Bulldog
As Ghania spoke, she rolled up her sleeves and raised her gun. "Natalie, when you see the right moment, blink right over and rescue the three little ones. Once they're safe, I'll blow these jerks away!" But Natalie stopped and said to her, Olivia, and Roderick, "You three stay inside the house for now. Harold's in the courtyard right now. Cassian and I will go out. The three of us outside will be enough." Ghania was a bit anxious. "There are so many of them, and they have hostages. How can just the three of you ... " Cassian understood what Natalie meant and explained, "They'll probably make us hand over our guns first before we can see Lucky and the others. If you all come out too, none of us will have weapons." Ghania slapped her forehead. "Right! I wasn't thinking it through." Roderick summed it up. "The three of us will stay hidden in the villa with our weapons. If anything happens outside, we'll rush out immediately and provide covering fire." Olivia gripped her gun tightly and said to Natalie, "You go ahead. If you run into danger, I'll charge right out to save you!" Natalie looked at her tense expression, smiled, and patted her shoulder. "Relax!" Then she took out three guns and grabbed a bag of ammunition before heading outside with Cassian. Olivia called out from behind, "Stay safe!" Natalie and Cassian walked out of the villa. Once the door closed, no one could see that there were three fully armed people still inside the house. Harold was standing at the villa entrance. Natalie tossed him a gun, and the three of them walked together toward the courtyard gate. Outside the courtyard gate, Lisa first looked them up and down, then introduced herself, "I'm Lisa, leader of the Grayhound Sect. Mr. Holland, Ms. Ashford, and ... whoever you are, hello there!" Natalie naturally wouldn't give uninvited guests a warm welcome. She just stared at them without saying a word. Lisa wasn't bothered. She smiled and pointed at the gate. "Didn't we tell you to open the gates and welcome us?" Only then did Natalie speak her first words, "I want to see the hostages first." Lisa spread her hands. "You haven't even opened the gate. I don't see any sincerity from you." Natalie tilted her head up, looking down her nose at her. "The gate's already got a hole in it, doesn't it? Can't you just crawl through yourself?" Even though the mask hid Natalie's exact expression, Lisa still sensed her arrogance. A gang leader crawls through that gap? That was no different from crawling through a dog door! Lisa naturally wouldn't crawl through in front of her subordinates. So she silently stared at Natalie. The two sides faced off across the courtyard gate, sizing each other up. At that moment, Harold noticed the bandage wrapped around her arm and suddenly understood, "You're the intruder who triggered the trap that day!" Lisa narrowed her eyes and looked at Harold standing in the back. "You're from Villa 5?" Harold said angrily, "So it was you!" If they'd known the intruder was the leader of this so-called Grayhound Sect, they should have searched the entire Villa District and taken her out. Then the three little ones wouldn't have been captured. He glared at Lisa and asked in confusion, "You were hit by my poison. How are you not dead?" Lisa let out a cold snort. "Your poison is pretty good. Too bad I'm better."Harold stared at her arm for a while and couldn't help but say with admiration, "You're one tough woman." He knew his own poison well. Without the special antidote he'd made, the only way to save your life was to amputate quickly to stop the poison from spreading. This woman was alive and well now, and her arm was still attached. That meant before the poison spread through her entire arm, she'd already realized the arrow was poisoned and decisively cut out her own flesh in time. Other than Natalie, he'd never seen a woman so ruthlessly decisive. Harold held his opponent in even higher regard now and gripped his gun nervously. If he had to face this woman alone, he really wouldn't stand a chance. But right now his idol, who could kill without hesitation, was right beside him. What was there to be afraid of? Hearing their conversation, Natalie also realized this gang leader was the mysterious person who'd scaled over the walls that first time. So she became even more alert. This woman's skills were no joke. After the two sides stood at a standoff for a while, Lisa smiled and spoke, "How about this? Since you won't open the gate, hand over your guns first. Once you hand them over, I'll let you see the hostages right away." Natalie had anticipated this scenario, so she didn't hesitate. She immediately signaled Cassian and Harold to take off the guns they were carrying. But before handing them over, she specifically removed the ammunition to prevent the other side from opening fire on them as soon as they got the guns. Seeing the other side only hand over two empty guns, Lisa narrowed her eyes. "What's the meaning of this?" Natalie raised the rifle in her hands, aiming the barrel at her. "Those two guns are our show of good faith. This one is our insurance."
