Shining Through the Chaos with My Bulldog
Cassian, who stayed back at the villa, wasn't idle either. When he'd been staying at Maplecourt, he'd promised something. He would return double the supplies he used during his stay. Now was the perfect time to move more stuff back. He opened various cabinets and the refrigerator, seriously beginning to pack everything up. By this time, Lucky had finished touring the entire villa. She happily returned to the first floor, following behind Cassian. "Ow ow ow, ow ow ow ow!" I really like your house. Set up a room for me! Cassian couldn't understand what she was saying. "Lucky, stop messing around. I need to finish packing quickly. We can't delay getting home." Lucky's face wrinkled up. "Ow ow? Ow ow ow ow!" What do you mean going home? This is my home! ... Meanwhile, Natalie arrived at the agreed location. She was picking up the trucks from the Griffith brothers. This time it was still in a remote suburban area. It was far from civilization, but not the same place as last time. When they'd traded for the echinacea last time, they'd nearly been discovered. Edwin's crew had almost found them. So this time Natalie had directly chosen a more distant and secluded location. When she arrived, she was driving the armored SUV and carrying an assault rifle. The Griffith brothers and three water tank trucks were already waiting there.Seeing the unfamiliar black armored SUV, they looked wary at first. Only when they spotted Natalie's familiar figure did they get down. They left the water tank trucks to greet her. "Ms. Ashford!" Natalie said, "You're here early." She'd arrived more than ten minutes before the agreed time, but she was still later than them. Arnold replied with a grin, "When meeting a beautiful woman, we should arrive early and wait." Natalie smiled but didn't respond. Both sides knew the real reason. They were also afraid of being robbed. After all, Natalie had chosen the location, so they were the passive ones coming here. Naturally they wanted to arrive early to prevent her from setting any traps. Dennis glanced at the armored SUV behind Natalie with its doors tightly shut. The windows were completely tinted, making it impossible to see if there were other people inside. "Ms. Ashford, that's a cool vehicle you've got there!" Natalie smirked. "I think so too." Dennis was stunned. He hadn't expected such a confident response. Then he forced a smile. "The water tank trucks are all here. Do you need us to help drive them away?" Natalie shook her head. "No need. The place where my people store water is classified. They'll only come get the trucks after I confirm you've left." She shrugged. "Even I don't know where they store the water." Dennis nodded without objection. This didn't surprise him. After all, he didn't know where the Mervyns' secret water reserve was either. Natalie went to inspect the water tank trucks. They were in good condition, and all the pumping and filling equipment was complete. So the handoff went smoothly. "All good." The Griffith brothers nodded and drove away in their van. Natalie got in the armored SUV and followed them from a distance. After confirming they'd entered the city, she turned back. She circled the area several times to make sure no one was lying in ambush. Then she returned to the water tank trucks and put them into her storage space. After thinking about it, she took out a shovel. She dug up some dirt from the ground. Then she returned to the armored SUV, locked the doors, and flashed into her storage space. She connected the water tank trucks to the villa's tap water system. Then she began storing water. To speed up the process, she opened multiple taps. She turned on all the bathroom faucets on every floor. She also mixed in the dirt she'd dug outside. This would keep the water from being too pure. It wouldn't look like tap water. After finishing the work, she confirmed all the water pipes were securely connected. Then Natalie flashed out of the storage space. Just as she was about to drive home, she suddenly remembered something. She thought about the emerald necklace she'd been wearing around her neck. She felt for it and sure enough, it was gone. Natalie was silent for a moment. She'd been careless. Her gaze shifted to the colorless glass-type emerald bracelet on her wrist. She found it now had a hint of green. Looks like the space has upgraded quite a bit! That's fine. The necklace is going to be used for upgrading the storage space sooner or later anyway. Since there was no one around, this was the perfect time. She could test the upgrade situation. She got out of the vehicle to test her Blink distance. She was surprised to discover it had jumped from 213 feet to 328 feet in one go. Worthy of being an 80 million premium piece! Even all the emeralds in the entire city combined couldn't have upgraded this much. Cassian was practically her lucky star. Every time she encountered him, good things happened. Natalie hummed a tune in good spirits as she drove home. ... Meanwhile, Roderick had retrieved the necklace and Cassian had also finished packing. The car's trunk and passenger seat were both piled full of supplies. If the back seat hadn't needed to be saved for Lucky, the entire car would have been packed full. After getting everything ready, he called to Lucky. "Lucky, let's go. Time to go home." Lucky was currently lounging lazily on the comfortable luxury couch. Hearing him, she glanced over, then turned her head and lay back down. Cassian raised an eyebrow. "Don't pretend you can't hear me."
