Shining Through the Chaos with My Bulldog

Chapter 286 Reuse Them

Lately, the two of them had barely moved off the couch, skipping workouts altogether. Their relationship was heating up fast, but Natalie still crossed her arms and scolded, "We can't keep doing this!" Cassian, shirt hanging open, leaned back lazily on the couch and gave her a look. "What's the problem now?" Natalie frowned, reached out, and started buttoning up his pajama top. "First of all, look at yourself. Dress properly!" He arched his brow. "Didn't you just undo them earlier?" She slapped her hand over his mouth. "Second, quit spouting nonsense." Cassian squinted, shifting his mouth under her palm. Natalie jerked her hand back like she'd been electrocuted. "Third, stop getting handsy all the time!" After a beat, she added, "And stop using your mouth too!" He smirked, pulled her close, and kissed her. "Alright, got it." Natalie was left speechless. She pushed against him. "I mean it! We've been way too lazy. When's the last time I even trained?" Cassian thought for a second. "Yeah, it's been a while." The last few days, they'd spent their time either trying out new recipes in the kitchen or lounging on the couch playing games. Back then, he'd hit the gym every day. Now? He was slacking big time. He glanced down at Natalie, who was still in his arms. "Ready to get moving?"Natalie narrowed her eyes suspiciously right away. "Hold on, what kind of 'moving' do you mean?" Cassian smirked. "Why that look? Weren't you the one begging to train?" She exhaled. "Fine, let's train." Then, she added, "And stop with those looks. People might think you're flirting." Cassian almost cracked up. "Flirting?" Did she really just call me that? Natalie glared at him. "Yeah. Fits you perfectly." She stood, stretching her arms. "Come on, let's spar!" She stopped mid-move and warned, "And be serious. Don't use this as an excuse to get handsy!" Cassian laughed and stood. "Got it." A couple of hours later, they collapsed on the couch, sweaty and tired. He slipped his arm around her. "So, what do you want for dinner?" Natalie, still riding the workout high, leaned over and kissed his cheek. "You." Cassian went quiet for a second, then suddenly scooped her up. "Are you sure about that?" She yelped and instantly backtracked. "Nope! I was kidding!" She figured it was safer to shut her mouth. Cassian chuckled and set her back down. She acted all mischievous, but deep down, she was just like a bunny. Natalie sighed in relief as her feet touched the floor. She was about to change out of her damp clothes when someone knocked. Opening the door, she saw Olivia. Olivia noticed the sweat still on Natalie's face and stepped back. "Am I interrupting again?" Ever since Natalie and Cassian got together, Olivia has barely shown up anymore. Last time they ate together, Lottie wanted Natalie to visit, but Olivia always refused, afraid of being a third wheel. And now, she was interrupting them again. Natalie blinked, instantly realizing what Olivia must be thinking. "Don't get the wrong idea!" She wiped at her forehead. "We were just exercising." Olivia gave her a knowing look. "Sure, working out is healthy. Just be careful. Don't end up with a baby." Natalie raised her voice. "Seriously, we were only training! Not what you think." Olivia waved her off. "Whatever. I just came to drop this off." She held out a black plastic bag. Natalie took it curiously and peeked inside. There were two different brands of condoms. She was speechless. Olivia explained, "I found these while sorting supplies. I don't need them, so you two can use them." Natalie fumbled to hand them back. "I don't need these right now." Besides, she already had plenty in her storage space. Olivia could trade those for food instead. But Olivia assumed Natalie was just embarrassed. "Why hide it? Look, in times like these, you need to be careful. An accidental pregnancy could be dangerous." She paused, then added, "Unless you're ready for kids." Natalie was flustered. "I can barely handle myself, let alone raise a child!" She was just dating Cassian, not married. Who knew how things would go? Kids weren't even on the table. Olivia nodded, then looked worried. "Two boxes won't last you long, though." She thought it over, then said seriously, "If you run out, just rinse and reuse." Natalie stared at her in shock. "Reuse them?!" Could that even work?! Olivia nodded. "If you've got nothing else, it's better than nothing."
