Shining Through the Chaos with My Bulldog

Chapter 231 She Pooped Right In Front of Her Door

Natalie's surveillance equipment had audio, so with nothing else to do at home, she listened in on everything happening in the hallway and quickly figured out what was going on. She took a sip of coffee and let out a soft chuckle. Ghania really is something. She had those two begging for mercy in no time. Those two fools think they dodged a bullet, but they have no idea—itching is even worse than pain. Just as Natalie expected, the following days were sheer misery for Dorothy and Brandon. Day and night, they felt an unbearable itch all over. The more they scratched, the worse it got. They scratched themselves bloody, but it still didn't help. The itching kept them from sleeping. The wounds were even worse. They hurt and itched, so they kept clawing at them, making it impossible for their injuries to heal. One of their wounds was on their butt, so they couldn't sit or lie down. They could only stand or lie on their stomachs. In just a few days, dark circles appeared under both their eyes. Dorothy, already skin and bones, looked ready to collapse at any moment. Even Brandon, who'd always been chubby, lost a lot of weight. The itching tortured them for a full week before it finally began to fade. But their troubles weren't over. While they were busy scratching, they'd barely eaten. Now that the itching eased and they felt hungry again, they realized their food was almost gone. Dorothy counted on her fingers—there were only enough crackers left to last them three to five more days. With no other choice, she headed back to the 14th floor to beg Olivia for help. But this time, she was truly scared of all these ruthless city people. She didn't dare raise her voice. She knocked softly and pleaded politely, crying as she begged Olivia not to leave them to die. But her once obedient daughter-in-law had clearly made up her mind. No matter how Dorothy begged, Olivia refused to answer or help. Dorothy knocked day after day, but she never got so much as a crumb. All she got was a single reply, "If you have time to keep bothering me, you could have found your own supplies by now. Nobody else depended on me, and they're all still alive, aren't they?" After that, there was only silence. With no response the last time she knocked, Dorothy finally made up her mind. She decided to take her son and look for food outside. Otherwise, they really would starve to death. But she was still angry. She'd never wanted Daniel to marry Olivia in the first place—she thought Olivia was not good enough for her son. Then, she turned down her proposal to have kids with Brandon, acting all self-righteous. Now that she had all the food, she turned her back on her mother-in-law, not even showing her face! Everyone said mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law were destined to clash. Now, Dorothy could see how true that was. Olivia was out to ruin her life. The more Dorothy thought about it, the angrier she got. Before she left, she yanked down her pants ... She pooped right in front of Olivia's door.It makes no difference where I do it. At home, I'd have to clean up after myself—better to leave it at her door and get my revenge. Ha! You little tramp. If I can't hurt you, I'll just gross you out instead! She pulled up her pants and stomped downstairs, still cursing. Inside, Natalie was lounging on the couch with Lucky, watching a movie. Suddenly, Lucky jumped up, baring his teeth and growling at the entryway. Cash followed, shaking his head, his bright eyes glued to the door. Natalie stood up, confused. Dorothy had been knocking on Olivia's door for days now, but she never made much noise, so Natalie had ignored her. And the animals were used to it by now. Why are they both so worked up today? She thought for a moment, then walked over to check the surveillance feed. All she saw was Dorothy pulling up her pants and heading downstairs. Natalie frowned. What's there to get excited about? Wait ... why was she pulling up her pants? Natalie clicked on the playback. What she saw nearly made her eyes pop out. That old witch actually pooped at my door? No wonder Lucky's going nuts! Dogs have the best sense of smell. Unbelievable! This woman has no shame at all! Natalie stormed out of her apartment, furious.Meanwhile, Dorothy was just about to get Brandon to join her in looking for food, but he flat-out refused—he just wanted to keep sleeping. Left with no choice, she headed out alone. But just as she stepped out the door, Natalie rushed over and punched her to the ground. Dorothy clutched her face in shock. "What's wrong with you? Why are you going around hitting innocent people?" "Innoncent? You pooped in front of my door! Don't you dare tell me you're innocent!" Dorothy shrank back, guilty. She tried to act tough. "Do you have proof? How do you know it was me?" Natalie didn't bother explaining about the surveillance cameras. She just started raining blows and kicks down on Dorothy. "I don't care who did it! I'm beating you up, and there's nothing you can do about it!" After a good thrashing, Dorothy was left battered from head to toe.
